Hey Dude, Get Surreal.

OK I had a trickle of creative juice trickling around the right side of my cerebellum and came up with this contribution to Berry's Surrealism Challenge.  Not sure that she had two rhino's bonking as an image but hey, who am I to stand in the way of my tawdry little mind?  I don't think Madame de Pompadour ever toured Africa and I'm sure she didn't wear a jester's crown.

I had so, so, so much fun doing this Berry.  You really think outside the box.  I dub this picture "Chalice de Pompadour And The Bonking Rhino's"

Drop Dead Gorgeous.

I found a new shop.  Well new to me.  The label is Drop and I found it during one of my jaunts around SL.  I had to give it a go and grabbed this jacket and pants.  Needless to say I was again thrilled with my purchase from a shop previously unknown to me.  The unusual flannel jacket sports two tone tartan and the voluminous knit pants feature print leggings.  I encourage you to to have a look at Drop.  It's got some great stuff and the guys are catered for too.

I'm wearing another hair from Kik called Atmos which comes with this hair flower.  Because the lovely people at Kik made the flower modifiable, I changed the color to match the hue of the jacket.  I found this smart handbag and shoes at The Secret Store.

Some earrings from Glow Studio finish it off and I'm done.  I think I might go out for lunch.

It's Meme Berry Christmas - My Name

Berry's done another Meme and I'm in.

I had a sly ciggie while I was thinking of my answers.  A terrible habit I know but it's my second last vice other than enjoying a fine glass of  red.

1. What’s your SL name? Chalice Carling
2. What made you choose this name? God it's so far back for the old memory bank but I think I chose the sir name Carling first and then tried to think of another name starting with C.  I thought Chalice sounded nice plus I was probably drinking a glass of wine at the time which reminded me that wine was traditionally drunk from a chalice in the Biblical sense.  Chalice is also the name Jamaicans use for a bong, and is also an ancient symbol for a woman.  It is also the antiquated metaphor for the female urino-genital tract but please don't hold that against me.
3. What’s your SL nickname, or what do most people call you? (if applicable) Either Cha or Cha Cha.  I always love the way Frolic Mills pronounces my name...like Chal-eee-ce.  Very cute.
4. What’s your SL display name? Why do you choose to have one? (if applicable) I did just put Cha Cha as my display name.  Not sure why though.
5. Do you like your SL name? Yes I do actually.  I really wouldn't mind if Chalice was my RL name.  My RL first name is very, very unusual and I've spent a life time correcting people with the pronunciation and spelling it, sometimes two or three times because people get lost half way through.  Turns out my name is a common name for a male in Jamaica.
6. If you could change your SL name, what would it be? Blooming Wonderful.
7. What’s the craziest/funniest SL name you’ve ever seen? Ayefarted On Yeu.  Eww I'd have to fart back.
8. What’s the coolest (your favorite) SL name you’ve ever seen? I think it would have to be Crap Mariner.  I remember when I first knew of him and I just loved that name.  Actually now I wish I could be Crap Carling.

My SL Pet Peeves Meme - Chalice

Doesn't Strawberry Singh come up with the best ideas to open up the blogger community that allows us to get to know each other better?  I swear that I had been tossing around a blog post about my favorite and least favorite things in SL...I must be psychic.

Anyway I thought I would join in her Pet Peeves Meme and hope I don't upset anyone in the process.  I purposefully haven't read anyone elses meme yet so that my responses are off the top of my head and aren't influenced by the peeves of others.  My peeve level isn't that high so please don't be offended if I mention something YOU do because in the scheme of things, its not very important and you have every right to do it, unless its illegal or hurtful to others of course.

Number 1
Bloggers who end up with gigantic pictures on the feeds.   

Number 2
Those really weird and anatomically impossible hips and thighs.  The avi's with a Grand Canyon gap between their legs so that their undies look like dental floss.  Its funny how my eye is immediately drawn to their genitals.

Number 3
People you don't know who walk up to you in SL and stand an inch from your face.  Although Chalice is so tall it's usually the navel.  Sometimes they just push you and sometimes they ask for money.  I'm so stunned by the number of times I'm at a sim taking pics for the blog and in a static pose when people walk straight up and push my avi around.

Number 4
When you buy an outfit and it's nothing like the vendor poster when you put it on.  Fortunately it doesn't happen to me very often but every now and then I buy something that no amount of body tweaking will make it look passable, let alone good.

Number 5
People emoting baby stuff in a crowd and also that giggling noise you often hear.  This is probably my least favorite thing about SL  Like most things in life though, because you have an aversion to something you tend to notice it more.

Starships Were Mean't To Fly

Hey up.  Gizza just released this great number called the 'Fragrant Henna' dress which they describe as a mix of  'hippie chic and London boho'.  Available in six different colors, it is ethnic fashion to me which I love.  I imagine myself at an exclusive resort having lunch by the pool in this dress.

I actually ran around Gizza looking for accessories and found the hair piece, bag and necklace.

This look is what I wore when I went on my big world trip a couple of years ago.  I stayed at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi and remember wearing something like this for dinner one night.  Great work Gizza.
