Go On. Mesh With My Head.

Finding titles for all my posts always gives me a laugh.  I'm either listening to a song and use the name or a line from it, am thinking about my ex and want to purge any negative feelings to make some poignant statement only I understand or try to use something about the outfit, look or designer.  So YES kids...today I'm featuring something from MESH HEAD.

Recently I was sent this edgy little dress from Mesh Head's designer, Franceco Carrara, called 'Vintage Metal Mini Dress'.  What I love about Mesh Head is the fact that Fran provides huds for many of her items to change either the patterns and/or colors.  Great for those who don't like to change every two seconds (like me) but can still look different at the click of a button.

The earrings and necklace set are called 'Signs' from Bens Beauty.  I think they're very effective and are definitely a sign for me to shop at Bens more often.

As always, Mesh Head clothing always offers stunning details such as well placed material shine, realistic folds and shading.

I found these stunning tatt's from Garden of Ku Tattoo's called "Niu Kua".  In addition, I'm wearing a tattoo on each wrist called 'Iron Cross' from Little Pricks.  Is that not the most precious name for a tattoo parlor?

I stumbled across this fabulous curly do with shaved pattern at the back of the head from Unorthodox called 'JoliDopa Ponytail'.   Won't be taking this hair off in a hurry such is my love for it.

I GOS'ed again.  I've had my eyes on these 'Angelina Peeptoe's' for weeks and needed little (read NO) encouragement to go get them to wear with this outfit.  With heels as sublime as these, I'll lick my own feet.  I wonder how many GOS shoe purchases before I have a shoe named after me????  I think it should be called "THE CHALICE SANS CALLUS".

Notice the leg tattoo that's a part of the 'Niu Kua' tattoo set.

I wore my Fishy Strawberry lace cycling pants again.  Designers of SL...make me more, MORE, MORE.  Different lengths, patterns, colors.  I just love them as I think they definitely tart up an outfit.  In my opinion, I think we could use a more creative use of leggings like Fishy has done.

Okidoki.  Off to style another outfit. Boi for now.

Now You're Just Somebody That I Used To Know.

WARNING: Sunglasses might be needed to view this post.

Fluoro is back baby.  Did it ever leave?  Not for the brave.  I picked me up some fluoro-tastic pieces starting with the 'Gradient Cutout Top' and 'Pyramids' earrings from guess where?  Fluoroescent of course.  The owner/designer, Grant Valeska-Cristy, did a fabulous job of these pieces.  His RL profile shows he's a young male designer and I'm really captivated that a young guy got this so right.  I'm not being condescending by any means because I'm just so impressed. It just goes to show that talent and ingenuity are not solely the domain of those with a few more years under their belt.

I found these white shredded leggings from SAKIDE in my wardrobe and thought the color really complimented the lower gradient of the top.  I found this fantastic beaded necklace set from Maxi Gossamer.  You get various necklace lengths that comes with a hud whereby you can play around with a whole combination of colors.  It's something that you can use over and over again changing the colors and lengths according to your outfits.  Very clever indeed Ms Gossamer.  She has some amazing jewellery that you don't see everyday so Chal's tip....go look.

I found the bangles at Pure Poison called Pety Bracelets.  Lots of different designs make up the set as you'll see below.

Look at my lovely avatar enhancement nails from Orc. Inc.  I love how Ms Orcsy gives us the most vivid colors and textures.  This one is from the Split Glitter fat pack and they just pop.  Thanks so much Nicole for sending them.  I can't wait to work my through the colors and patterns you've created.  Now I've been coveting these bags from Gos for a few weeks and knew it would be perfect for this outfit.  Actually I'm going back to work my through all the colors.  They sit on your arm so precisely even when you walk and that's something I appreciate in a bag.

Now I think I need to arrange a self exclusion policy from Slink darlings.  I'm in LOVE with Siddeon's add on shoes compatible with her mesh medium rigged and avatar enhancement feet.  These are called 'Glitter Peeptoes' in white but you can change the bow to contrast with the shoes.

Oh and this is my new hair from Analog Dog called 'Apple Moustache' in Platinum.  I love this style to bits. The hair flower is from ASO.

From A Distance Someone Is Watching All Of Us.

Well today just cemented for me that you're never too old to learn a life lesson.  I won't open Pandora's Box again, but on a certain blog that caters to and critiques modeling agencies, I went head to head with a certain person who I believed to be, well let's just say, wrong.  I was reminded, ever so respectfully by the moderator, to basically stop banging my head against the same old brick wall.  And you know what, they're absolutely right.  There are people who use SL for devious means and create havoc wherever they go.  Its their agenda and intent to do that and nothing I can say will change their mission to do damage.  Its funny how we sometimes get ourselves into situations that become unhealthy and fruitless but we march on regardless.  Today I learned to leave those type of people to stew in their own juices for in the end, they ain't worth the gas (or electricity if that's your mode of cooking).

Here I am pounding on my keyboard preparing another post highlighting what is GOOD about SL.  The fashion!

Click for a more detailed view.

This citrus toned dress is a killer.  It was an impulse buy from Pink Outfitters.  Actually if the truth be known, all my shopping is on impulse.   Designer, London Dailey, has done a superb job with this halter neck, backless dress with a black waist band.  it's stunning on and the colors are yummy enough to eat.  Lucky for me I stumbled across the most complimentary earrings called 'Lola Leaves' from Cherry.   I was finding it a tad difficult to find the right shoes to match so opted for a pair of 'Grace' heels in patent black leather from Gos and a giant carry all called 'Valentine Bow Tote' also from Cherry.  Really any excuse for another pair of Gos heels and I'm there.  They are sublime.

I just adore the back of this dress.  It's different from what I usually see around.  I admit that I swooned over a hair style shown on Bierno and Deeta's wonderful blog from Analog Dog so there was another excuse to go check out some new releases.  I thought this one called 'EQ' would be perfect as it would allow the dress to be the star.  I'm sorry for my bank balance because once there, I WENT FLIPPIN MAD.

I'm wearing my new Betty skin from Belleza (doh I brought the fat pack) and popped on the skin appliers for my Slink hands.  I have it on good authority that Belleza skin appliers for the feet are currently being worked on...YAY.  I am in love with this skin.  It has a sophisticated look to it and the eye shading, there's something so perfect about it.

I popped on these Je Suis Vintage Bangles (not sure if they're still available so if you want them, check with Julia Merosi from Je Suis.  The rings are called Pompeii in Circus color from Bliensen and MaiTai.  The earrings and rings from this set are so versatile because you get 5 different tones in the pack.

Peace and love precious ones.

SHOPPING;

Hair: EQ (hairbase and braid) in Shore tone by Analog Dog
Skin: Betty in Pale tone by Belleza
Hand appliers: From Belleza
Hands: Slink

I have to say it because I'll feel better.  But if anyone from LL was standing in front of Chalice right now she'd kick them square in the knackers.  It is taking FOREVER to bring up LM's and it happens all the time.  Be warned.....protect the knackers if you see me approaching.

Official Hair Fair 2013 Photo Contest - Be In It To Win It.

Well it's coming up to that wonderful time of year when Hair Fair gets underway.  It will run from the 14th to the 29th of July and who can resist purchasing hair knowing 15% of all hair packs sold will be donated to the amazing cause, 'Wigs For Kids'.

To get into the swing of it, the Hair Fair organizers are running a photo contest from the 7th to the 28th of June.  The theme is 'Movies Inspire Me' and you are encouraged to be as creative as your juices allow.  Now to show off your amazing talents, simply join the 'Official Hair Fair 2013 Photo Contest' Flickr group, read the rules carefully and get snapping.

Winners will be announced just prior to the start of Hair Fair with all winners receiving a special VIP invitation to Hair Fair before it opens its doors to the public.  WOW...how great would that be? In addition, winning photos will also be featured at the Hair Fair.  First, Second and Third Prize winners will receive prizes from all stores listed.  Can you imagine all that hair???  You'll be literally rolling in it.  Seven runners up will also be given early access to Hair Fair 2013, as well as having their photos on display at the event. While this is all wonderful, lets not lose sight of what really underpins this amazing event....donations for 'Wigs For Kids' which allows children the opportunity to feel better about themselves and less alienated from their peers due to various medical issues that see them lose their hair.

I just wanted to style a bright, uplifting outfit with little hair, similar to what you might see from say, a cancer patient who's hair is slowly growing back to show that you don't have to have flowing tresses to look beautiful.

I watched my late mother lose her hair during chemotherapy for ovarian cancer and due to the simple fact that she fought it all the way, I never saw her look more beautiful than during that time she had little or no hair.

Visit the official Hair Fair 2013 web site for more information.  As an entire community, lets ALL get behind Hair Fair 2013 and make it the best event ever.

You're So Cheeky.

Its not always in SL that tight shorts work well with the body but I found these mesh leather Ani Hotpants at Ducknipple and just loved the studs, ring and zipper.  I mean if your zip breaks in these, you're in trouble although Cha would be ok because she vajazzle's.

I didn't know quite where I was going with the look until I found this freebie group gift lace poncho at Boudoir.  It was originally a cream color but I changed the color to black.

Another freebie group gift were the Pony Girl Boots also from Boudoir.  See my horse shoe?  I felt the need for protection, so popped on the gun and holster from the 'Lost Ourselves' outfit by Envious.

The ripped socks are from DeeTaleZ.  Now remember I've already said they do great tights, stockings and socks.

The hair is a combination of a hair base called Malaysian Lace Cap from Eskimo Fashions and a hair from Diva called Miu.  I think they work well together, especially from the back.

I'm also wearing my favorite ever gloves from Celoe and the Snake Skin Clutch from Cherry.  The cross earrings are new in at Mandala called Ero Sensei.

So if you see me out and about in this outfit, please don't yank the chain on my shorts because god knows what you'll see.

Three Cheers For SL Designers And Builders.

Hello fellow bloggers, non-bloggers and designers.  I've been thinking a lot about my blog and the fact that many of the designers I feature may not have the time to peruse the feeds or Flickr and in all probability, don't know that I've used their products.  I know if I was a designer and put in all the work it must take to stock and operate a store, I'd like to see my blood, sweat and perhaps tears receive some form of attention.

I have decided that each time I style for Chalice In Wonderland, I'm going to send each designer a note card in-world with a link so that they can see their products I used to make up my outfits.  Other bloggers possibly already do this but duh, the thought just came to me.

Why am I announcing it on here?  Well I wanted to make it clear to any designer who receives a note card that I am not doing it with an agenda to obtain any free stuff.  I merely want to let you know that I love your item, because I used it, and I'm grateful of your existence in SL making beauty for us to wear.

I would also like to stress that if any designer does not wish to receive a note card, I will add them to my list and not bother you...no problems at all.

Its perhaps that I'm not a designer of anything nor claim to have any special artistic talents that I particularly appreciate the work of others so much.   They have to do it for love because when you translate what they earn into real dollars, they'd have to sell a LOT to make a reasonable profit.  And I haven't even mentioned the builders of SL.  OMG.  I'm in awe of you guys.

So remember designers, this is about YOU, not me fishing for ANYTHING.

I Think You're Full Of Shit.

Don't worry about some of my blog titles...they're often directed at my ex and how I feel about him at any given time particularly when I'm listening to my IPod music while blogging.  LOL

I jinxed myself.  After mentioning my biggest ever number of blog hits in my last post, yesterday was the lowest.  Fuck blog hits...I do this for my own amusement anyway so who cares.  OK I do a little bit but I'm going to shut up about it now.  Shhhh Chalice.

Today I'm featuring a dress I'd had my eye on at Manna.  In a way, its not usually the kind of dress that I wear but there was definitely something about it that captured my imagination.  Its attention to detail and colors are so lovely that I grabbed it yesterday and had a lot of fun styling the look.  It wasn't all that easy because the pinkish tones in the dress are quite unusual so a bit of TP'ing was required to accessorize but I love the result.

As you can see the details are unusual and the designer certainly wasn't afraid to play with color and texture.  I love the Mini Bucket Bag from Zenith and the pinky colored hair from Diva that give it extra pop.  I absolutely love the Zenith label to bits.

I used the color tones of the under top for the stockings which I purchased from Riddle.  I love the way they sell them in color sets of 5.  These are from the aqua collection.  Now the shoes were a bit of a find after visiting quite a few shops trying my hardest to obtain a good match.  I found them at Bliesen and MaiTai called Fandango.  LOVE THEM.

So to finish.  Thank you Ms Manna Yoshikawa for creating such a fabulous dress that totally won me over in the end.  You're quality all the way.

I think I may have mentioned not long back that I purchased a fantastic 29" computer screen which makes SL look so much bigger and better.  Well I had a full set of Altec Lansing speakers that I hadn't connected (actually read: couldn't).  My computer guy came over and plugged them in and set them up properly.  Then I purchased a top set of earphones so now I can click whether I want my speakers (for day time...blaring) or my headphones on (night time...blaring).  Computer time has become such fun and I really, literally tune out.

"I Can't Deny The Fact, You Like Me, You Really Like Me". (Thanks For The Quote Sally Field) lol.

This is a post about the shop Envious that offers an eclectic mix of sexy wear and sophisticated fashion.  The store is vast and I mean VAST.  Wall upon wall of vendor posters so you need a lot of time to have a good look at each one.  I purchased quite a few outfits which I will style over the coming weeks.

The outfit called 'Luxury' consists of the pants, belt, top, shoes and bangles.  As I mentioned three posts ago, this is another store that offers complete outfits which require only minimal styling effort from you to achieve maximum results.  This entire outfit was just L$150 which is as I said before, a complete bargain when it includes an entire look. Plus there are numerous lucky chairs for those wanting to nab some freebies.

I love the fact that shoes are included and that I didn't have to fiddle around finding a belt.  The drape of the trousers are full and resemble a light woolen texture with realistic folds over the shoes.

I just added a minimalistic bag from Little Petits Details called the 'Garbo Clutch' and some white pearl earrings from Zaara called 'Nizam Jhumka'.

The hair is one of Truth's new releases called 'Charlize'.  I'm sure he meant to call it Chalice but his secretary slipped with the spelling!  No, I'm being silly now because the amazing Mr Hawks has already named a hair after me and for that, I was absolutely thrilled.

I took my luxurious self down to 'Salt Water' to take these shots.  I really love that place.

Now a couple of days ago, for some reason totally unbeknown to me, I reached an all time high in blog hits over a 24 hour period.  I mean REALLY high for me.  I was almost barracking for the number's to rise like rooting for my football team.  It remains one of life's little mysteries, why, out of the blue, you get readers popping in like never before and you know what?  I LIKED IT.  My blog stats tell me that my page views overall are 94,714. Thank you to every single one of you who have visited.  My remaining dreams are to be included in 'Fashion Feed of SL' and  to be accepted into the 'Style Academy' feeds.   Well you gotta dream big, don't you?

DIGG IT!

My new friend, Alyssalillian McMinner, owner of ZERO COOL Designz and creator of Gacha Addiction and now the new DIGG IT! event must never sleep and her head just has to be buzzing with a gazillion ideas.  All great one's mind you.

DIGG IT! is an excellent concept whereby shoppers can purchase discounted items at 80% off the regular price.  You merely need to subscribe and purchase a DIGG IT! Tour Hud which gives you the information to visit the participating stores. Once customers purchase the tour hud,  you just use it whenever you feel like DIGGING IT!.  There's no stop or start time.  A whole range of stores will be offering these discounted items all the time and the hud gives you the information of where to go.  Participating stores will have a picture of the item on their kiosk and you need to find it and there you go, 80% off.

Now the important part for designers wanting to participate is the first 100 starter packs are free so you'll need to be quick to avail yourself of the opportunity.

No one can describe it better than the concept creator herself, so here is a LINK to Alyssa's blog which explains everything in detail.  She's quite the entrepreneur so get on board if you're smart.

It reminds me of a shopping tour that just goes on and on.  I remember going on one years ago with a few friends and a huge group of Greek women were on the bus.  OMG.  I was physically harmed trying to get off  at the different factory outlets by these women....CAN THEY SHOP!  Don't be standing between the 50% off 1000 thread count sheets and those women. You could die.

Here's a link to ZERO COOL Designz too.

Stairway To Somewhere.

I think Chalice is the picture of femininity which florals seems to bring out in women.  Subjective I know, but that's what I always think of when I see soft floral colors with flower adorned hair.

I found this dress on my travels at Leri Miles Designs and thought the color was eye catching and the epitome of all that is beautiful about spring.  Again, I scoured all my favorite haunts to find jewellery I was happy with.  I seriously labour with jewellery for some reason but I do find it important to feel right about the jewellery I pick.

I headed up the long stairway to see what was at the top and this was no mean feat in my new Gos Grace heels.

Half way up I stopped for a shot.  I love these bangles from C'est la vie that come in a set.  My bag is another color choice from the fat pack of Croire 'Chic Chain Clutches'.  I love the size of it and the hardware is delicate.

I'm wearing Diva hair called 'Diva 2' complete with flowers which was a 30,000 group member celebration gift that is still available at the store if you join the group.  I love the sweet 'Sakura' necklace from Bliensen and MaiTai.  After walking up all these stairs, let me tell you I was ready for a Mai Tai.

In closing, I need more Plurk friends so if you need another one, FRIEND ME?  To be honest, I can't work out how to find SL people to send a friend request...yes, I know, I'm challenged.

How Can You See Into My Eyes Like Open Doors?

I've been noticing a few designers lately who sell their clothing items with accessories included. While I love to mix and match my fashion to create a bespoke look, I do appreciate how handy this is for people not wanting to go ferreting for hours on end in their inventory for the right shoes, jewellery etc.  This outfit is from SLX, a combination of Ducknipple and 20.FIVE, providing complete outfits for SL customers.  Great idea for those on the go who want to just pop on some fabulousness and head out.  It consists of the dress, boots, bangles and necklace which all compliment each other beautifully.

I really just added this silver chain clutch from Croire (now trading on Marketplace), hair, skin, tattoo and nail gloves and voilà, ready in record time.

Another thing about purchasing complete outfits from SLX is the fact that you are saving heaps of money if you're anything like me when you style.  I spend a fortune on shoes and accessories so this way, you're getting it all in the one purchase.  At only L$195, this is remarkable.

Oh and I did a naughty thing.  Walked right into Glam Affair and fat packed the Cleo.  Will someone please chain me to a heavy seat at my home for a week so I can't go shopping?  I'm out of control....and loving it :-)  Be good till next time.

And my blog title?  Guess what I was listening to when I was thinking 'oh no, what do I call this post'. lol

Through The Sands Of Time, There's Zaara.

This is one of the most beautiful outfits I have ever shown on my blog in my opinion.  This post is exclusively a dedication to the wonderful designer, Zaara Kohime, who brings such quality, color and vivacity to SL.  Upon checking her profile, I see she is an Art Director/Illistrator and it certainly shows in every piece I've ever purchased from Zaara the label.  The outfit I'm wearing is called 'Syona Kurta' in Saffron.  It comes complete with tunic, scarf and pants.  Being this is a feature on Zaara, I chose the cute little flats called 'Ilaida Mojri' also in Saffron.

The stunning head jewellery is called 'Nizam Head Jewel' in Gold and the earrings are 'Nizam Jhumka' also in gold.

The stunning bracelets are called 'Atiriya' in carnelian gold.  I also added a turquoise bracelet called 'Vyomini' just because it's so beautiful.

Yep, my Slink hands look splendid and the nail appliers are the Glitter Set #1by Orc Inc.

Overall, Zaara has produced some kind of wonderful and I am in total LOVE with it.

While putting together this post, I have been listening to K.D. Lang's version of Hallelujah over and over and over.  I needed the soothing tones of her voice in my head tonight.  I am in love with her big time even though I've been crying for an hour torturing myself through the song...it resonates with me right now and its perhaps not the best thing to do.  Play songs that bring up emotions but hey, don't they say crying washes away the pain?

Stand4Love.

Now this is a cause I'm very passionate about because in the deepest recesses of my soul I believe that the GLTB community should have all the rights that are afforded the 'straight' community.  Because I couldn't express the importance of this issue any better than the organizers of the campaign currently occurring in SL, I have taken an excerpt from their blog to explain.

"Each one of us has the right to liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness. Everyone has the right to love and be loved in return. GAY, LESBIAN, STRAIGHT, TRANSGENDERED or BISEXUAL…..Sexual Orientation or Race shouldn’t Matter. The FREEDOM to LOVE is fundamental as the FREEDOM to BREATHE. Two adults should have the right to love without discrimination and intolerance. Marriage should be available to any loving couple. Let’s end hatred and discrimination now. Stand UP and be counted!!!

STAND 4 LOVE is an awareness charity project to promote the visibility and rights of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Straight loving couples to have the right to marry and be recognized by the law across the world. It will be a picture campaign in Second Life to spread awareness and promote equality and tolerance. Each participant will take a picture of themselves in a plain white or black background then add the Stand4Love Logo. They will then put their message of support as well as their SL name and/or Title/Business (Optional) in the picture.  All pictures received will be published here in this blog. It will also be promoted in Stand4Love Facebook page and Flickr group. We will be opening a gallery inworld to display your picture entries for a month. Please Join us."

Here is the link to the Stand4Love Blog and I hope you all participate.

Under Pressure (Twas listending to the Mercury/Bowie version when I posted).

Pressure!  We all experience it to varying degrees because our lives pull us in so many directions.  Some of us cope with it better than others and even if we cope with it well, there's days when it all goes to shit.  Add depression to it or any other form of psychological or psychiatric disorder and life can become a mine field.  I think that joy plays a huge part in living a successful life.  You can have money, huge houses, expensive cars, holidays that go on forever but if there's no joy, whats the point of it all?  At the moment, SL is perhaps one of the few places that joy finds me.  Of course, I'm working on improving this situation every second of the every day but by god it's hard.  When the joy goes, it permeates every aspect of your life.  The things that used to excite and motivate me aren't working any more and the fight to get me back is taking a huge toll.  So to those of you who are having trouble finding your inner joy, I hope that each day you find even a little of it in your heart.

I needed cheering up and I always know that Little Petits Details will provide me with visually stimulating lovliness and I wasn't disappointed when I saw this dress called 'Organzal'.  Ca-ching, it was mine.

This skin was a freebie at the Skin Expo from Nuuna's.  I love it when in amongst my dogs dinner of an inventory I find just the thing I wanted.

Jewellery is from Je Suis's current 50% sale.  Its only on for a week so it might still be going.  Limo here.

I just added some black gloves from Cheerno that I don't think are still available.  I've become so spoiled with my Slink hands 'n' feet, that when I can't wear them because there's no skin applier available, I wear gloves.

I lashed out again on another new pair of heels from GOS.  I'm just so impressed with the GOS label and I always get a kick out of visiting and purchasing a new pair.  These are called 'Grace' in Pink.  To coin a phrase from Sex And The City, "Men I might not know, but shoes, shoes I know" - Carrie Bradshaw.
