Just Another Day At The Office.

Hello darlings.  Today I've put together another look for the office although I'm not sure if my eye make up would go down too well but then again I do lean toward the dramatic. Always have and probably always will.

I found the blazer suit at Gizza and loved the austerity of the jacket.  I wore a black head scarf from Le Primitif and efl lashes from Boudoir.

I found a great leather mesh skirt that worked so well under the blazer from 22769 along with the black and white bag.   I do appreciate shops providing demo's particularly with mesh so you can see if there's any poking out through other mesh items.  Sometimes its an easy fix by putting on a larger size or tweaking your shape but sometimes it just won't work at all so it negates the need to spend the money.

I found the cross rings at Le Primitif and if you look closely you'll see my bracelet from Mischa Fine Jewellery has my initials on it.  It is actually a mens bracelet but I loved it so much I snapped it up.  The watch is from Gizza called 'Asia'.  Even down to my nails from Flair I've kept the black and white theme.

The boots are a new release from Gizza called 'Lisha' and are fabulous.

The Beautiful Cheongsam

Well I brought a fat pack from Glam Affair.  I adored the Amberly skin on Cha so before I could change my mind, clicked quick smart.  It's an amazing skin and the make ups are so varied...a look for every look so to speak.

I did have a wee spend up on some more outfits to blog and this one excited me no end.  I fell head over for the striking red and white Chinese inspired Cheongsam style dress with black trim.  Figure hugging with barely room to breathe, its so flattering and sexy.  I found it at TuTy's, a shop I wasn't familiar with but oh my lord I will be in the future. The hair base and pony tail is also from TuTy's...go check out their hair.  WOW.

For some reason I couldn't get these 'Pony Girl Boots' from Boudoir out of my head and just had to wear them.  They've got horse shoes for soles.

Its not that simple finding a blood red bag but I got lucky with the 'Heart Purse' at Fashionably Dead located at Tableau.  The flower mask is another Boudoir buy and was just a little extra to give the outfit the Cha Cha touch.

I won't be swabbing no decks with this dress darlings.

Pink Fantasy.

While SL offers us unlimited choices in cutting edge couture, some days I like to indulge in some overt fantasy fashion that makes me feel, well, pretty.  No one offer's more selection in this genre than Boudoir.  Just take a walk around the cavernous store and you'll see wall upon wall of fairy tale dresses that defies the constraints of RL fashion in many ways.  I loved the powdery pink and soft grey colors and mille feuille skirt  and kind of reminds me of that scene in 'Sex And The City' where Carrie is waiting for Alexander Petrovsky to come home and she's laying on the bed in that fabulous Versace Seafoam princess dress, my favorite of all of her outfits.  This dress called 'Bonjour' has the added little surprise of ants strategically placed around the skirt...who would have thought?  At $350L, this Boudoir beauty is a steal.

Restraint is not what I'm aiming for here so the Donna Flora 'Cristiana Hat' and Mandala pearls add to my OTT look.

The skin was purchased at the Love Donna Flora event as Pink Fuel's contribution of the Doll skin in Porcelain.  I added a bit of extra drama by way of the Dulce Secrets 'Silver Ore' eye shadow make up tattoo.

No other shoes but my Eva Slingbacks from the Baby Collection by Gos would do.

To skin makers who put Slink hand and feet appliers in with your skins, you ROCK.  ROCK I tell you.

I wanted to have a word about blogs.  It appears, well to me anyway, there has been a blogging explosion and of course that means competition.  While competition is great and encourages us to be better, it does make it difficult for your blog to stand out from the rest.  I just keep my head down and bum up, not worrying too much about what other people are doing but it seems to me one of the most important things is to get yourself linked in with as many fashion feeds as possible.  I've noticed that a few of the fashion feeds are linked with inactive blogs and while the standard of those blogs is high, why keep a blog when the bloggers aren't blogging anymore?  I know some of us work like crazy to keep fresh and informative and I for one, despite periodic applications, cannot seem to get Chalice In Wonderland linked to some of the premier feeds.  It would be nice to at least be told 'No your blog is not what we are looking for' and at least one would know.  Please hard working fashion feed owners, let go of some of the blogs that haven't posted for months and freshen up your feeds with active blogs or at the very least, provide us with an answer as to why you won't include us.

You're So Cheeky.

Its not always in SL that tight shorts work well with the body but I found these mesh leather Ani Hotpants at Ducknipple and just loved the studs, ring and zipper.  I mean if your zip breaks in these, you're in trouble although Cha would be ok because she vajazzle's.

I didn't know quite where I was going with the look until I found this freebie group gift lace poncho at Boudoir.  It was originally a cream color but I changed the color to black.

Another freebie group gift were the Pony Girl Boots also from Boudoir.  See my horse shoe?  I felt the need for protection, so popped on the gun and holster from the 'Lost Ourselves' outfit by Envious.

The ripped socks are from DeeTaleZ.  Now remember I've already said they do great tights, stockings and socks.

The hair is a combination of a hair base called Malaysian Lace Cap from Eskimo Fashions and a hair from Diva called Miu.  I think they work well together, especially from the back.

I'm also wearing my favorite ever gloves from Celoe and the Snake Skin Clutch from Cherry.  The cross earrings are new in at Mandala called Ero Sensei.

So if you see me out and about in this outfit, please don't yank the chain on my shorts because god knows what you'll see.

Dancing In Heels.

I hope everyone had a good day and that you've got some Lindens ready to spend at the Designer Showcase which features some great designers.  You won't need too many of them darlings because nothing is over L$99 and some great group gifts to boot.

This dress, called K Collection Aisha, is one of the dresses put out by Liv Glam.  Damn near blinded me with all that silver bling.

It reminds me of the lights you see when flying into a big city at night.  Uber gorgeous don't you think?

I have to give an honorable mention to these amazing heels called 'Love Poison Nr.7' from Zero Cool Designz.  I commented in Flickr that the stiletto's could be used as deadly weapons (thinking Single White Female) and the lovely designer, Ms Alyssalillian McMinnar, contacted me in-world and kindly sent me a pair.  Alyssalillian is also the mastermind behind Gacha and in particular, the Gacha Addiction events featuring different themes each month.  Visit HERE for more factual information but knowing how many people seem to love the Gacha concept, you should be very excited indeed for the next one.

These shoes remind me of a really funny story that I want to share with you.  I have an Irish friend who used to study Irish dancing when she was younger living in the Emerald Isle. Having moved to Australia, she loved the lifestyle and didn't mind our cold beer either.  Diving into the BBQ and beer culture, she decided to give us all a demo of her Irish dancing skills at one of my parties but didn't factor in her high heels and beer consumption.  She started well but not long into it she keeled over and we all ran to her aid.  She bloody well did a jump but when she brought one foot over the other, stabbed herself in the foot with her heel.  I mean right through the foot.  We were all so drunk we couldn't stifle our laughter but did manage to get help for her.  Talk about River Dance...more like River of Beer Dance.

Oh and this fabulous glittery bag with silver metal handles is from Miel and is color change.  Its so authentic looking as it kind of droops in the middle like bags do when handles make bags sit up at the sides (you know what I mean).

Now I've had the hiccups on and off for two days.  Does anyone else get them and they keep coming back?  Damn annoying and my chest hurts.

Very Meme Monday - "My Three Wishes"

Another meme meets Monday from the wonderful mind of Strawberry Singh.  Well this one I had to think long and hard about because I'm greedy and only three wishes was a stretch.

1. I wish for the fun days when I first joined.
This makes me a little sad because I've become somewhat of a recluse since my blog has become all consuming.  I wish for the days when I was modeling all over the place working with amazing people who made SL such fun.  When we would discover things together and laugh for ages or be in awe of something beautiful.  At learning new skills and sharing them with my then wide circle of friends who would wax lyrical about you when really, it wasn't anything much that you did but that the importance of encouragement was the impetus of your friendships.  When all you could hear was the 'ding' of IM's and you couldn't keep up with the conversations.  The days when something fantastic was released and the grapevine was humming with friends letting you know and going shopping together oooo'ing and ahhh'ing all over the grid.  It was pure fun and something that could only occur in a certain time because everything was new and you were establishing your identity in SL.  In a way, it felt like growing up again and you can only do that once in SL.  I'm probably making no sense because perhaps its only me who feels like this.  My fondest memories of the early days was enlisting all different photographers to take pics of me for my portfolio and styling a gazillion looks hoping they would think I was remarkably different and waiting for them to arrive to share with friends.  I still have the folders of my modeling friends where we would share our newest pics and support each other when we auditioned or made the cut.  Seems sort of silly now, but back then, it was fabulous.

2. I wish I had Chalice's body/bodies and wardrobe.
In RL I do really love fashion.  I do have a pretty liberal wardrobe of clothing, shoes, accessories and jewelery but if I had Chalice's body, my god I'd be unstoppable.  I'd probably dress and re-dress ten times a day and never have my head out of my closet, only to go out showing off.  Then again, she is way over six feet tall with a clothes horse figure so its pretty unattainable in reality.

3. I wish that the crotch area didn't distort clothing.
I don't have an answer for why this is but it seems the minute you open your legs to any degree, the texture distorts and looks horrible.  Its the one area I need to fix up in Photoshop the most.  It doesn't happen with mesh items so much though.  Also on this subject, it would be great if one had the ability to lower the alpha layer with mesh clothing to ensure the legs don't poke out the dress. Is this even possible?

Oh and one of my pics was chosen to to make up the header of BloggingSL.  What a thrill and thank you so much for picking it Alianna.  Such a lovely surprise to wake up to.

The Power Is In The Flowers.

My blogging has been very infrequent of late because in RL, my mum has terminal cancer and in a phase the palliative care workers call 'end of life'.  We have made a decision her and I, that she will stay at home with me and I will be her carer until she passes.  It is totally my privilege and honor to do this but it's soooooooooooo tough.  SL hasn't offered me any enjoyment or escapism at the moment so I will blog when the mood takes me.  Tonight it did.

I put together a casual little number full of color with varying textures and patterns.  Worn with a simple pair of thongs (ok you people up above...flip flops), it's a comfy, casual look you can wear if you don't mind being noticed.

I chose this bag because at the moment our house is full of beautiful flowers that have been sent to mum and are in nearly every room.  It called the 'Summer Bag' by Boudoir.  Very apt given we are heading into spring/summer down here.

The jeans are also from Boudoir called 'Printed Denim Jeans' and as I've always been partial to a bit of shabby chic, sit well with me.

I've had this Katy Perry inspired top in my inventory for a while and unfortunately cannot find the shop where I purchased it.  I can tell you however, it was designed by Vylorna Demar.  This is a fairly new do from Truth called 'Soleil' in Swedish...very voluminous and sexy.

The pics were taken at Dreams - Space Illusion 11.

Remember Me? No! Don't Answer That.

Oh my wordy yes it's been like forever since my last post.  Life has spun 180 and everything is different.  I upgraded computer's and haven't yet been able to workout how to download Photoshop CS5 to my Windows 7.  I'm doing something wrong and I just can't work it out...YET.

Anyway I do have Paint Shop Pro x2 and while I love my Photoshop, it will have to do until I work this thing out.

Here I am in simply my favorite hat in SL, the Cristianna from Donna Flora sitting atop my new 148 hair from W&Y.

I adore this "Sweet Celeste" dress from Boudoir.  The flower filled skit of soft pinks and beige tones just ripples with every move and the beige corset has lots of lovely detail making it so realistic.  The "Pony Girl" boots are also a from Boudoir.  I find Nemisis tights just the best as they are so well textured and you don't have unsightly seams and mismatching.  I also vote the 'mery'' gloves from celoe the best on the grid.

Yes it's that time of year again when all the kitty cat claws come out to play on "Agency Report" commenting on Miss Virtual World.  One has to ask is it really all worth it to chase a dream that isn't even real.  Oh well, each to their own.

"Well, you know what they say: if you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me! ".

Character Claree Belcher - Steel Magnolias.
