Da Da...It's Been A While But I'm Back With Some LeeZu Magic.

Hello darlings...yes it's been a while between posts but my post operative guest has left and my nursing duties are no longer required so I have more time for blogging.  I must say I have missed it and each and every one of you who visit my blog.  I purchased this ever so unusual one shouldered knit top and powdery blue skirt both from LeeZu.  The top has the quirk I love and the skirt has a striking poppy pattern and rust colored frill.

I'm wearing hair called 'Dali' from Loovus Dzevavor, a label that delivers unusual, sophisticated couture.

The orange and black highly detailed bag is a great find from BSD Design Studio.  OMG folks, their bag collection is wonderful.  I also found these darling fringed heels from there.  That shop is utter perfection and never disappoints me.

Its always such a thrill when you start your outfit with one or two key pieces then go shopping to find accessories to create a look distinctly yours.

I read with interest the last SLecrets from Shopping Cart Disco that someone posted their formula on blogging, particularly the part that states "Post pics of yourself in stuff you clicked on to wear and had nothing to do with the creative process in designing it, but feel creative by wearing someone else's shit".  I thought about it for a while and realized that while fashion bloggers don't make the creations, blogging fashion is paying homage to a designer by way of promotion.  I think we bloggers provide a service by featuring all of their hard work and yes, styling fashion does require an eye and some creative flair when accessorizing to create an entire look.  I know I spend hours scouring the stores to bring an outfit to life so while that poster is entitled to their opinion, perhaps provide us all with a link to your blog to see how it should be done eh?

Sea The Beautiful Coral.

Well the Melbourne Cup has just been run and won by a lady trainer...yay the girls :-)  I personally can't watch horse racing as I would just be a basket case if I saw one of the horses hurt but the Melbourne Cup is a special day in the Spring Racing calender and I prefer to watch the fashion instead.  OMG there was some amazing outfits with hats featuring highly.  Where else but in the land of Oz would you get a day off for a horse race? lol

Today I have a cute outfit with bright coral top and tote.  The top is a recent purchase from Indie Rose and being a lover of this color, couldn't resist.  I also bought the 'Leather Swan Tote' from Le Primitif in the coral color so top + bag = fabulous!

I found this sexy windswept do at TuTy's called 'Extremist Volume'.  It would drive me crazy having hair permanently hanging over one eye but Chalice doesn't seem to mind.  She'll do anything for fashion the sexy strumpet that she is.

The top has sex appeal too as it cut's away giving a little side boob action.  The pants are from LeeZu called 'Madison' pants in the color Snow.  LeeZu has some absolutely fabulous new designs in store so if you haven't visited for a while, you really should go check out all that wonderful newness.

These super cool heels and socks are also from LeeZu called 'Claudette' and come with a color change hud which gives you heaps of options and versatility to wear with lots of clothes.

I've been a slack old tart with blogging recently but have been looking after someone who had an operation and is staying with me.  Be back to full steam soon.  Keep on being spicy my little fashion lovers :-)

A Date With Bogart.

I felt like creating some old world glamor but with a little twist.  I found this stunner of a mesh dress in a gorgeous eggplant color and animal patterned vibrant print panels running down the sides from CIA Designs, a store I was unfamiliar with.  When I spotted it I thought the cut was so elegant but the streaks of color transformed it from your average long gown.  I accessorized using the lime green to accentuate the splashes of color.

The bag is such a good match and I was happy to find it at the Alexandra Sautereau Collection.

The hair is from Paper Couture fittingly named 'Bacall Bob'.

The earrings and bracelets are from Mandala.  I love the silhouette of this dress, very classic but with a modern feel.

I took these pics at 'Ghostsville', a great sim for photo taking.

Pink Fantasy.

While SL offers us unlimited choices in cutting edge couture, some days I like to indulge in some overt fantasy fashion that makes me feel, well, pretty.  No one offer's more selection in this genre than Boudoir.  Just take a walk around the cavernous store and you'll see wall upon wall of fairy tale dresses that defies the constraints of RL fashion in many ways.  I loved the powdery pink and soft grey colors and mille feuille skirt  and kind of reminds me of that scene in 'Sex And The City' where Carrie is waiting for Alexander Petrovsky to come home and she's laying on the bed in that fabulous Versace Seafoam princess dress, my favorite of all of her outfits.  This dress called 'Bonjour' has the added little surprise of ants strategically placed around the skirt...who would have thought?  At $350L, this Boudoir beauty is a steal.

Restraint is not what I'm aiming for here so the Donna Flora 'Cristiana Hat' and Mandala pearls add to my OTT look.

The skin was purchased at the Love Donna Flora event as Pink Fuel's contribution of the Doll skin in Porcelain.  I added a bit of extra drama by way of the Dulce Secrets 'Silver Ore' eye shadow make up tattoo.

No other shoes but my Eva Slingbacks from the Baby Collection by Gos would do.

To skin makers who put Slink hand and feet appliers in with your skins, you ROCK.  ROCK I tell you.

I wanted to have a word about blogs.  It appears, well to me anyway, there has been a blogging explosion and of course that means competition.  While competition is great and encourages us to be better, it does make it difficult for your blog to stand out from the rest.  I just keep my head down and bum up, not worrying too much about what other people are doing but it seems to me one of the most important things is to get yourself linked in with as many fashion feeds as possible.  I've noticed that a few of the fashion feeds are linked with inactive blogs and while the standard of those blogs is high, why keep a blog when the bloggers aren't blogging anymore?  I know some of us work like crazy to keep fresh and informative and I for one, despite periodic applications, cannot seem to get Chalice In Wonderland linked to some of the premier feeds.  It would be nice to at least be told 'No your blog is not what we are looking for' and at least one would know.  Please hard working fashion feed owners, let go of some of the blogs that haven't posted for months and freshen up your feeds with active blogs or at the very least, provide us with an answer as to why you won't include us.

Ode To Donna.

Like so, so many of you, I'm saddened to hear that the heart and soul of Donna Flora, Squinternet Larnia, is unwell.  A few posts back I mentioned that I wanted to feature two complete Donna Flora outfits and this is my second installment.  Please check out the Love Donna Flora blog for more information on how we can become involved.

I'm sure every little bit helps so went shopping at her store to create something pretty and uplifting which isn't difficult given the amazing selection of outfits.

I was drawn to this dress fittingly called 'BonBon'.  I feel like a wonderful, decadently wrapped present.  Anyone want to open me?

As I said, I wanted to be 'Donna Flora'd' from head to toe and apart from the skin and hair, everything else is pure Squinternet.

I'm loving the fusion of the dress with the two tone pink 'Milva' heels.  Good choice Cha!

I think Squinternet does the best jewellery.  The details are exquisite and you only have to cam in close to see the intricate work involved in each piece.  I chose the 'Gloria' set for this outfit with color change hud and its stunning.  How utterly fitting that she won the BOSL Award for Best Jewellery in 2011.

Now the hair was either a freebe or dollarbie from Hair Fair 2013 created by Loovus Dzevavor called 'Hourglass'.  It was a fat pack and I chose to show the color 'Ditzie 1'.  I love the interplay between the hair and the skirt...it's bouffant all the way darlings. Hopefully this hair will be available in store too once the Fair has finished.

Although I have never met Squinternet, it is through her creations that she speaks to me (and all of us who have ever worn her designs).  I send you heart-felt thanks for sharing yourself in SL and making it a more beautiful place to dwell.  While we may not enjoy your designs in their physical form, there's nothing virtual about your artistry and the fact we can take pictures and capture the brilliance.
