Da Da...It's Been A While But I'm Back With Some LeeZu Magic.

Hello darlings...yes it's been a while between posts but my post operative guest has left and my nursing duties are no longer required so I have more time for blogging.  I must say I have missed it and each and every one of you who visit my blog.  I purchased this ever so unusual one shouldered knit top and powdery blue skirt both from LeeZu.  The top has the quirk I love and the skirt has a striking poppy pattern and rust colored frill.

I'm wearing hair called 'Dali' from Loovus Dzevavor, a label that delivers unusual, sophisticated couture.

The orange and black highly detailed bag is a great find from BSD Design Studio.  OMG folks, their bag collection is wonderful.  I also found these darling fringed heels from there.  That shop is utter perfection and never disappoints me.

Its always such a thrill when you start your outfit with one or two key pieces then go shopping to find accessories to create a look distinctly yours.

I read with interest the last SLecrets from Shopping Cart Disco that someone posted their formula on blogging, particularly the part that states "Post pics of yourself in stuff you clicked on to wear and had nothing to do with the creative process in designing it, but feel creative by wearing someone else's shit".  I thought about it for a while and realized that while fashion bloggers don't make the creations, blogging fashion is paying homage to a designer by way of promotion.  I think we bloggers provide a service by featuring all of their hard work and yes, styling fashion does require an eye and some creative flair when accessorizing to create an entire look.  I know I spend hours scouring the stores to bring an outfit to life so while that poster is entitled to their opinion, perhaps provide us all with a link to your blog to see how it should be done eh?

Sea The Beautiful Coral.

Well the Melbourne Cup has just been run and won by a lady trainer...yay the girls :-)  I personally can't watch horse racing as I would just be a basket case if I saw one of the horses hurt but the Melbourne Cup is a special day in the Spring Racing calender and I prefer to watch the fashion instead.  OMG there was some amazing outfits with hats featuring highly.  Where else but in the land of Oz would you get a day off for a horse race? lol

Today I have a cute outfit with bright coral top and tote.  The top is a recent purchase from Indie Rose and being a lover of this color, couldn't resist.  I also bought the 'Leather Swan Tote' from Le Primitif in the coral color so top + bag = fabulous!

I found this sexy windswept do at TuTy's called 'Extremist Volume'.  It would drive me crazy having hair permanently hanging over one eye but Chalice doesn't seem to mind.  She'll do anything for fashion the sexy strumpet that she is.

The top has sex appeal too as it cut's away giving a little side boob action.  The pants are from LeeZu called 'Madison' pants in the color Snow.  LeeZu has some absolutely fabulous new designs in store so if you haven't visited for a while, you really should go check out all that wonderful newness.

These super cool heels and socks are also from LeeZu called 'Claudette' and come with a color change hud which gives you heaps of options and versatility to wear with lots of clothes.

I've been a slack old tart with blogging recently but have been looking after someone who had an operation and is staying with me.  Be back to full steam soon.  Keep on being spicy my little fashion lovers :-)

My Guilty Confessions And A SLook.

Mz Straw-Meme has devised another great idea so I'll do that first then talk about my look.  Oh dear...think Chalice think.  What are my guilty confessions?  I'm sure I have some in there...thinking....thinking.  OK, here I go opening up which is sometimes kind of scary because of the judgement that goes along with it.

1. I try all kinds of ways to make my blog more popular and get it out there but they don't seem to work.
I think I shoot myself in the foot with this because in SL I've become so reserved I'm practically invisible.  This is reflective of my RL at the moment because of some tragedies I experienced last year that I've kind of cocooned myself for protection.  I've tried repeatedly to get my blog linked to some of the more popular feeds, but they haven't responded which has knocked my confidence about whether the time and money I spend blogging is really worth it.  My hits both on the blog and in Flickr aren't that high and I secretly wish I could break through the glass ceiling and become more notable in SL.  I question whether my style is rubbish, my pictures passé and that my opinions are nondescript.  I know I shouldn't worry but since this is about confessions, this is one of mine.

2. I hate the process of putting links in my style credits at the end of each post.
I do want the designers to get their due credit and make it easy for people to catch a TP to their stores, but it's soooooo damn tedious.

3. I read Shopping Cart Disco's SLectrets every week hoping I'll know at least what one of them is about.
Because I'm out of the inner circle of whatever goes off in SL, I read them and they go straight over my head.  I then read the PLURK comments and the blog comments and even then, it's like another language.  Who's the shoe person?  Who's the penis person?  I dunno!  This probably stems from the fact that I have no inner circle in-world anymore that I live vicariously through and on the periphery of what's going down via blogs, PLURK etcPS - I need more PLURK friends, hint, hint.

4. When I'm out and about searching for new shops, if I see those horrid little skirts of years ago and wall upon wall of slutty looking badly made clothing, I fly right on past.
I'm sure you know the shops I'm talking about.  It's like do you not even look at the relevance of what you're selling compared to the fabulous fashion that's available?  Even today, looking through the window of some stores, its like a time warp of what was available 5 or 6 years ago and the decor, omg, update, please update.  Take a trip around SL and see the way things have progressed then go back to your store and take an objective look around.  Gawd I can feel the knives hovering at my back.

5. I confess that I wish there was a blog like SL Fashion Police around again.
I admit I used to laugh my head off looking at some of the avi's and bad fashion they used to show on their blog.  I know it's mean spirited but I think if Joan River's and Fashion Police can get away with it on real people, a SL version isn't that horrible.  I admit to taking pics of some avi's around the traps that seriously look like road kill.  I sometimes get the impulse to pop it on my blog but that's not what my blog is about.  Hmmm.  Maybe there's an opening?????

So there are some of my SLecret confessions - be kind :-)

I've had this woolen bolero from Bounce for ages and in my mess of an inventory, forgot about it.  I popped it on and paired it with my newly purchased LeeZu 'Yve' pants in Vintage Black.  They're so cute and I love the little flare above the knee.  I found the white tights at DeeTaleZ.  I was really impressed by their selection of socks, tights and leggings so if you are in the market for some, go have a look.  The shoes were a subscriber gift from Slink called 'Lara Mary Jane's' and the anklets I found at LouLou.  The necklace and earrings work so well with this look I think and are from Maxi Gossamer called 'Isis Solar Magic'.

Thank goodness Belleza is on board with the Slink Hand Applier and am wearing Mya skin in the Pale tone.  I couldn't find a Feet Applier so would love it if you did one Tricky.  If not, you're fabulous anyway and a skin maker of the highest regard.

Now here I go doing my least favorite thing, giving you LM's.

Blow Me.

What fun I've had shopping today.  I just wish I had more time to style everything I've purchased and get it up on the blog but alas, there are only so many hours in my SL day.

Like the bee hive?  Its a new release from Vanity Hair called 'Diavolo'.  Its so big a seagull flew in and I'm yet to find it.  Great style Tabata.

I got me some big ornate specs from Finesmith Jewelery and Accessories called 'BangBang'.  I do love a good pair of goggles and these are certainly out there.

Now I've had this top for a few weeks and was waiting to blog it.  I just love the line of it and the random patterns.  Anything that says 'Blow Me' is worth wearing in my book.  It's from HighRize called 'Blow Me Silver Balloon Top'.

The pants are from LeeZu called 'Florentine High Heel Pants'.  Here's a new concept...they come with the boots attached.   Brilliant.  I think LeeZu's selection of pants are so innovative and I must shop there more often.

I'm partial to razor back tops as they show off the back and shoulders and are sexy by my way of thinking.

Before I sign off, Happy Mummies Day to anyone who nurtures children or pets.  Hope its a lovely day for you all.

You Can Dance

Chalice went out to a house warming party today and danced away to the beautiful voice of Tamra Sands (aka in rl as Tamra Hayden) who also performs in SL.  It was great to get out among the residents for a change and it reminded me of how much fun I used to have when socializing was a top priority.

Today I'm showing you the lovely necklace, earrings and bag from Glow Studio paired with a shirt from LeeZu.  The pics were taken at Brasil Maresias.

Head Honcho In My Poncho

Look at this lacy poncho with a hint of nipple from LeeZu.  Quite an unusual piece in SL don't you think?  There are a variety of choices in style and color available - sheer knit (shown), sheer royal, sheer glitter and sheer wool.  It is such a comfort to my affair with fashion to have LeeZu in SL.  I remember coming across her store many years ago now and it was then I realized that there is fashion and then there is LeeZu.  She never ceases to cut a swathe through the industry and shows us that wonderful couture is possible.

Another amazing designer is Mirai Jun from Ce Cubic Effect.  I consider her collection to be earthy, organic, wearable and stylish with impeccable texturing.  The 'fabrics' are so evident to the buyer such as you can see that a skirt is linen or a jumper is wool.  Quite a feat given the constraints in SL but her label is always honest and great value for money.

Above is the black Tiered Skirt from Ce Cubic Effect.  I'm also wearing full length velvet gloves by Baiastice that accommodate an open or closed hand.

These are a great pair of boots called Baviera from Crazy Clothes.  They are absolutely brilliant.

I Am Woman Hear Me Roar

Hello reader.  Yes I say reader because I think I might have one.  I am feeling a little dejected because I can't seem to get my blog on the feeds and while I'm a million miles away from the best blogs in terms of production values, I don't think Chalice In Wonderland is that hideous that it can't link in with at least some of the SL fashion feeds.  I'm in my fifth year of blogging and now must deduce that I'm not hitting the mark in terms of interest.  I shall give it some thought as to whether I start up another one and change my blogging style completely.

Today I'm showing off a little number I pieced together featuring LeeZu and Mimikri.  I was attempting a soft yet edgy look and I rather like the mix of urban and vintage styles.

I have to mention the Lolita Espadrille shoes I'm wearing from Gos.  AMAZING.  Go buy, go buy.

The Moga Dress By Couverture.

When I spotted this dress called Moga at Chocolate Arashi's amazing shop Couverture, I simply had to have it. So glad Chocolate opted for the more expensive form of her name sake or the shop may have been called Compound. Couverture is so much more delicious. An absolute steal at $80 L's, I didn't realize that the dress could be worn in three different ways until I tried it on. All the more value for money.

I just love the strong color and pattern of the material yet it moves with a wisp of wind giving it a totally feminine quality. As you can see below, the dress can be worn in three different ways...strapless, tank and full sleeved.

Tabata Jewell from Vanity Hair fame is just going from strength to strength with her styles. I love all her new releases and have shown Pin Up, Woopsie and Innocent respectively. I just need to get some money into my SL bank and I'll be returning for the rest of her new releases. They are must have's for my future blogging.  Between Vanity Hair and Maiamai attachments, I am in hirsute heaven.

I highly recommend Couverture to my readers. I couldn't be happier with this dress and her shop is stocked with other fabulous pieces and also delightful home decor items. And as we all know girls, chocolate is oh so good for you.

Fume Leggings - Let Off Some Steam

I found these fabulous leggings at Fume (designer Inex Hax) the other day. They are a bold feather pattern with feather cuffs and totally satisfy my feather fetish. I can't be sure, but I think Inex is fond of a feather too given she has a wonderful peacock outfit in the store. You can tell she loves working with interesting color and textures which pulls me in every time. Do keep an eye on the alligator in the shop...he tried to eat me.

Great hair called Irena from Vita's Boudoir. A cross between fairy floss and cotton wool, it just bounces as you move.

A dark shadow has been cast across Second Life with the untimely passing of well known resident, Delinda Dyrssen. It's an unbelievably sad situation for her family and friends and while I didn't know Delinda, I knew of her. Best to read about the amazing Delinda here at New World Notes and particularly her involvement with KDIGO. From the beautiful words of her friends here in SL, it looks like Heaven received a very, very bright star. Rest now precious.

LeeZu's Runway Runaway.

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Am I the most beautiful wearing LeeZu of all?? Well you can't help but be beautiful in her fabulous frocks.

I dropped by LeeZu's GOL store the other day and saw this outfit from her Noir range. I just loved the lines. Simple but with a huge kick in the ass impact. It was a perfect chance to wear my new Boon hair called XFE275. I adore this hair so much and thank you boo Nakamura for dreaming it up.

I wanted to present this dress called Moonlight on the runway because that sprung to mind the minute I tried it on. Maitreya's Salience Heels were the only one's I thought of to pair with this dress....I love the fusion of these two designers in this ensemble.

Moonlight features gorgeous inlaid sequins that glisten as you glide. The deep split of the short skirt amps up the sexiness of this little black dress if that is at all possible. I love how the modest Victorian collar sits atop of the sheer bodice with a hint of nipple peeking through. Brilliant LeeZu, just brilliant.  I went minimalist with jewelery just wearing my Broadway Star Cocktail rings from Magpie and one earring, the limited edition Black Diamond from 24 Shoo Shoes.  I found a little veil that I thought would just finish it off.  Voila...I'm ready for the show.

Hair: XFE275 in Blonde from Boon
Skin: Elle from Belleza
Eyes: Expressive Eyes in Gray from Nany Merlin
Dress: Moonlight by LeeZu
Shoes: Salience Heels by Maitreya
Veil: Lace Face Veil from Mika

The Golden Chalice

Who doesn't love Mandala? Rhetorical question really because the answer is evident. I fell in love with Hannya Necklace - it's bold, flash and brash so wanted to put something together to showcase this piece of Mandala mastery.

For the longest time I have been in total love with Leezu's Maita spectacular. I bring it out from time to time when I want to be reminded of what's possible in SL clothes design. It comes with an abundance of pieces to mix 'n' match so the outfit is multifaceted. I found this belt called Syrianas Rebirth waistband from an outfit designed by Boston Westland who now designs for Chantkare Male so am not sure if it is still available but I love it.

Again not for everyone but I think the simplicity of the hair and make up allows for the dynamic life force of the outfit and jewelery. I mean it's not often you see bell bottoms like this. I think Quasimodo would have his work cut out for him ringing Chal's bells.

Skin: Eclat Pale in Make Up 6 by LeLutka

Attack Of The Killer Tomoto

Talk about great minds! SL's resident Betty, Lizzie Lexington featured a gorgeous set of pics wearing clothes from Tomoto. About an hour before I read that, I had styled an outfit to blog also wearing something from Tomoto. I discovered that label on one of my shopping treks and thought I'd share one of the outfits I purchased from Tomoto's designer, Tomo Wachter. The outfit I'm wearing is called 'tricot fraise' and is a richly textured, floaty short and top set with matching bonnet.

My inspiration for this outfit was my darling friend Vixie Rayna who so, so kindly sent me a gift of shoes from LeeZu's Courtisane range called La Sauvage. These are something quite special and come in a stunning array of colors. Thank you Vixie - you are too kind and I love you big time.Today  I'm wearing the Mauve pair and the fringing is to die for.

Jumping on the Glam Affair style train with other discerning fashion lovers, I'm wearing the Sofia gift skin, a mystical and dramatic make up. Glam Affair are doing such great things, particularly in their clothing range, it's exciting to see what's next. The recently released 7 Elements collection is fab-tastic.

And of course, when you need big, sculptured hair, look no further than 3636 and dianny3636 Aeon. Perfect for photo shoots and runway work, these gems can take an outfit from zero to a hundred with a click.

And how about this sim eh? Isn't it gorgeous? It's called Land of Hope and it's AMAZING. Here's your TP and I'm sure you will have lots of fun there taking pics. The name of the place is ANNANURIKIBA-THE COCOON.

The business end:

LeeZu In My Pants!

I absolutely love LeeZu pants.  Somehow she has managed to overcome some of the problems inherent in SL pant making and in my opinion, they look as real as can be.  That funny texturing between the legs that looks weird and unattractive in a lot of pants doesn't seem to be an issue for LeeZu.  I imagine she has spent quite some time perfecting her pieces so that they look as authentic as possible to RL pants.  Of course there are many, many designers who do awesome pants too but I have fallen in love with this collection of LeeZu's called Brit pants.  I know they've been out for a while but when items are as good as this, they deserve all the attention they can get.

LeeZu's Miss Mara scarf is also divoon and what thrills me is the fact that it sits like a dream on the shoulders and moves with the body.
