T--art From Boho Hobo.

These T's incorporate real life art from Trill Zapatero from Boho Hobo.  They are fabulous mesh and come in 3 sizes for the perfect fit.  Priced at a mere $85L's and even better, one of the T's will be on sale for $55L's.  How can you possibly go wrong with these striking pieces of art created in real life?  That makes them even more special.  Folds, creases and drapes are wonderful.

Take it from Auntie Cha.  These are a wardrobe stable.

Three Things I discovered Today.

1. I can't connect to the Fashion Planet feed. Is it dead? For 3 years I've been trying to get on that feed and now it appears defunct. What will I do now that can't keep checking to see if he got my e-mail?

2. LeLutka is closed for maintenance and just when I needed a new color of Saffron Pumps to go with an outfit. Please open soon or I'll cry so hard.

3. I have fallen even more in love with Chantkare than I thought possible. Doesn't matter what I buy, be it full price, discount or freebie, it always makes me go weeeeeeeee (while jumping on the spot and clapping my hands. Never leave Chalice....please.

Look at this re-release of Chantkare's Argyle Mini in lime that was a steal. Seriously clever construction.

Roll Up...Roll Up. The Bearded Woman

Chalice In Wonderland Blog
SL can be so cruel.

No I haven't ventured in to skin making. I have stopped laughing just long enough to post a pic of how I looked when I logged in tonight.

I've seen lots of glitches in my time but this is the ultimate in weird.

P.S. Speaking of skins. I have a skin release scoop coming up soon. ROAR.

Amazing Blog - "Avatars In Motion"

No pics just sharing.  If you haven't seen the blog 'Avatars In Motion' make sure you do.  It showcases stunning places in SL so if you're always on the hunt for new, fresh locations to visit or take pictures, this is pure inspiration.  I'm not sure who runs this blog but THANK YOU.

The Body Snatcher Version 2

Ever feel something's missing in your life?

Well I do! Where's my bloody legs gone? Viewer 2 has taken them and I want them back. I'm not walking around with these for the rest of my SLife.

$500L for the return of my legs.  $550L if you wax them for me.

And right when I went off at the Maitreya Gold 50% off sale and brought out the store. My life sucks.

ZombiePopcorn SL Carnival - There's Nothing More Scary Than A Clown

One of my favorite sims used to be Carnival Of Doom. It seriously scared the crap out of me which I know is really stupid but it did have an atmosphere of doom n dread. Taking a visit to the ZombiePopcorn SL Carnival, it was reminiscent of that sim and the mystery that seems to surround carny folk. I have always had a bit of an aversion to carnivals and circuses...something about the transient nature of them. A world created full of lights, sounds and smells one minute, and like a phantom, gone the next leaving a wake of litter in its place.

I walked the shops, rode the dodgem cars, navigated the fun house and it was a hoot. So if you want to see a great sim and enjoy all the fun of the fair, take this TP to the ZombiPopcorn SL Carnival. But beware...the man murdering circus clown might get ya.

Please Let Me Raise My Pants

Chalice is as tall as can be and often struggles with non-modify pants.

I found three examples in my inventory to support my dilemma when it comes to skirts and sometimes dresses. I assume its because I am so tall that with non-mod pants that I can't make shorter, the skirt/dress prims aren't long enough to cover the pants. In most instances, I can't lower the skirt enough to rectify the problem. I'm sure others are in the same boat so can I ask designers to consider making glitch pants modifiable so that your gorgeous outfits look their best and don't have pants hanging below the hems? I have quite a few outfits I just can't wear because of this which is a shame.

I Kissed The Boys And Made Them Cry

WOW I've had a blast this SL weekend. I've danced, laughed, explored new places and purchased new things. It was cold at home...a real Autumn day giving us a taste of what we're in for so I wasn't up for much in terms of being outdoorsy. I snuggled up, made coconut 'n' chocolate bread, cooked a yummy chicken dish and generally the family just chill-axed.

I downloaded the Rainbow Cool Viewer that I'm assured is compatible with LL TOS. I seriously cannot get on with V2. I don't like the side bar information and I think the movement/camera controls are cumbersome. I seemed to be involuntarily logged off from the Emerald Viewer on a regular basis so thought I would give Rainbow a try. I love it. It has all the things I personally want in one viewer so will stick with this until LL fix the movement/camera controls, remove that annoyingly huge side bar and deliver my notices to the top right of my screen. To me it is like I have all the new features in the old format that I am so familiar with.

Here is an outfit I styled from various sources. I do love the clever shading on the pants I purchased from Relentless Couture. How arty to combine a classic rock theme (the skulls) with a pattern noted for its traditional refinement (damask).

I also loved this double layered T from Faire with a message from Katy Perry...albeit with a twist. I did actually get the one that says I kissed a girl too. I mean who wouldn't want to kiss girls....we're FABULOUS.

I am loving tattoo layers. You know what? They negate the need to pose for hours on stands trying to get your prim lashes lined up plus no more caterpillars on yer face when you first land. I was thrilled to receive a tattoo layer from Tattanooga in the form of lashes. I tried it on and couldn't get to the shop quick enough. The make ups and lashes look great and are so easy it's insane.

Coming from a models perspective, I remember the limitations of SL when we had to quick change without a handy tab, fit lashes, struggle with body/face lights, try to reduce ugly foot bumps with particular shoes and skins that worked against the lighting before the vast improvements of recent times were afforded us.  These days I do believe it is easier to style and create unique looks because it's all out there for the taking.  In many ways I'm glad I learned in the quaint old days because I really do appreciate what we have now.

I also visited Posh for the first time and have fallen in love with their hair. There's something about it that floats my boat. I love how the pulled back hair sits low at the forehead. Anyhow, do take a trip to Posh and try on the demo's. I'm also wearing my favorite of all favorite shoes, Salience from Maitreya.

Click the pics for a more detailed look at mah threads.

My Life In Lurani

Ok I promised another Lurani number and here 'tis. It screamed Diva with impossibly tall hair and lips as red as blood.

This doesn't need many words...the dress speaks volumes.

It is the simple lines of this dress that allows the double feather ruffles to do their thing. The skirt is system so wear your skirt/narrow hip shape and you should be fine. The dress is called Rosette and just begs to be worn in the most dramatic way possible. I'll be doing another post with the Lurani shoes.

Have You Seen Lurani? You Really Must.

I'm really excited by this label. Lurani is the sista brand to House Of Fox and is founded by Gisele Mubble. She sent me some pieces and I was inspired. When I tp'd to the store, I found some fantastic designs that were colorful, rich in texture and well put together. I spied some gold pants that I don't think you will have seen before...very fancy smancy.

I am wearing Dare, a three piece set of pants, top and ruffled skirt. Gisele sent me some circus leggings that compliment perfectly. I wanted some color so chose the Knitted Hat and Tory Belt from LeLutka in the color Thistle. I popped on my favorite fur trimmed gloves and Maitreya boots to finish off and we now have something a little quirky and definitely unique. With all this going on I chose a simple Elfin style do from Vanity Hair. Click the pics for a more detailed view.

I took these pics at LeLutka. I spotted an empty display window and clicked inside. I was thinking of standing there to trick everyone into thinking I was a dummy but really, people already know this.

Lurani is my kind of shop and I will definitely be a repeat customer. I will blog the rest of the other pieces soon. I love your designs Gisele.  Congrats on a wonderful product.

My New Favorite Bestest Jeans

Despite how this may look, I'm not auditioning for "So You Think You Can Cook?" I just happen to love Romi's Black Hat from Donna Flora and wearing it last night at Element the 7th, my new friend Cam thought I looked like a baker. Well if the cap fits.....blah, blah, blah.

Anyway this post is about my new favorite bestest jeans. I went on a jeans crawl to see if I could find a pair that ticked my boxes and knowing how well Primitive Designs do pants, I wasn't disappointed when I found these Pistolaros in washed blue. I adore the turned cuff and I'm packing pistol as you can see by the embroidered leg.

These are seriously good jeans and dare I say it, my favorite pair. I also found these cool gloves at LeLutka's accessory shop. Designed by Marni Grut, one of the LeLutka design team, the Jill's Fighting Talk gloves in Charcol are fab.  They come in a host of colors and are really unique.

Also shown is Truth's Tila plaits in Swedish Blond. These beauties are so thick I've got a headache. I added a little of my favorite orange with the LeLutka Saffron Pumps and the Rachel Bronze top from an outfit I picked up at Convoitise. Last but never least, I'm wearing Belleza's Elle skin in Fair.

Go check out Primitive Designs...they do brilliant pants.

Models Beware - She's Back

I think you can tell from previous content on my blog that in the main, I'm not out to discredit people or unearth drama; however, this blog post is different because:

a) I believe and standby what I am saying
b) I'm saying it not for my own gain but to hopefully avert anyone else losing money on false promises
c) Some people need to just STOP long-standing bad behavior

Ladies and gentlemen, we have yet another model agency in town but this one is run by someone I know to be unscrupulous and disreputable. Evely Lane, previously of Vogue and then Evane Models, now owned and operated by Mimmi Boa, is back in business. It was while Evely was running Evane, before Mimmi turned this agency into such a success, that I came into contact with Evely and at one point worked for her. Suffice to say, I witnessed her brand of business and was not impressed.

She promised models training for $5000L and there were many models who either didn't receive it or received sub-standard tuition from someone who really, had no credentials in SL modeling. She made people Top Models and never followed through with work. Even models who won her dodgy competitions never received the stated prizes. She promised work in her non-existent magazine. I watched her bully new models into paying her for training where they were no better off than when they started. There was no schedule, no organization, no structure. Yes this is years ago but like many people who return to what they know, Evely is a recidivist model agency owner.

She has now started Eves Model Agency, Eves Photography and Eves Top Models. Here is an excerpt of her blurb in her group profile.

EVES Model Agency

For models that wanna become..
Real top models
Ex-Owner & Founder
EVANE Models

REAL top models?  What as opposed to pretend ones?   Models who wanna become?  Really Evely, promises, promises.

Now Evely also promotes skins. I am somewhat confused though. The label is called Evana as you can see from the poster I photographed at her store but in her profile it's called Evane. One wonders if she is trying to relive old times by using the brand name of someone else?  Someone who really DOES have a name.

I don't know how long Eves has been in existence or even if the agency is up and running. Regardless, if you have these three groups in your profile and promote yourself as the founder, there's a possibility you're going to work these businesses if not now, at some point. My desire here is to WARN anyone who may read the feeds and are thinking of aligning themselves with Ms Lane.  I encourage you to go ask questions within the fashion world as a form of reference check. There will still be models around today that have been burned and I do believe that unless she's seen the light, she'll do it again.

I learned the hard way and while this is sometimes a good thing that allows you to wise up, I would hate to see aspiring models, or anyone else, lose good money for something that I've never seen come to fruition.

Evely Lane was a specter in the model world.  You knew she was there but there was never any substance.  I'm not enjoying writing this post because I know I am disclosing information about someone who in RL may be vulnerable etc.  I chose to do it because it is RL money that changes hands and if people don't exchange it, there will be no future victims.

I would like to clarify that my references to Evane in the negative only applies to the time that Evely Lane was owner of this business not Evane under the ownership of Mimmi Boa.

It's Prestige All The Way At OoEas! Designs

I received a folder tonight full of sexy little dresses that I couldn't wait to try on and share with you all.  Called 'Prestige Suede Mini-dress', I think you're going to love the quality texture and shading that quite honestly, doesn't adequately show in these pictures.  I loved the fact that in a variety of poses, the break down in texture that invariably occurs along the torso was a non-issue with these barely there beauties. Designed by Sara Dimitriaski of OoEas! Designs, the dresses were named after Bax Coen's Prestige Suede Boots because the 4 shades of the dresses contained in the Blacks fat-pack match the shades of the Bax boots in the Black fat-pack.  Clever eh?

The colors of the dresses are Key Lime, Pink, Coal, Dark Grey, Ivory and Light Grey respectively. Proving that it's all in the details, there's also a prim zipper attachment for the back. I'm wearing Bax's Prestige boots to show you what wonderful music these two designers make together. I'm also wearing my faithful Shag Stone Love Crystal Sets in various colors.  The hair is also from Bax Coen called the Nathalie in Platinum, it features a diamante studded headband with color change script.  Me likes a lot.

I chose a colorful make up from LeLutka's Eclat range in the pale skin tone to give the face as much life as the outfit.

OoEas! also sent some new release belts in various colors.

Worn with Leezu's Brit Pants, these belts sit on the hips very well and required no tweaking from me.

I'll be showing you the fruits of a new skin designers labor tomorrow.  Stay tuned.

Look For Beauty And Ye Shall Find It

That's my thought for today. My darling dad used to say 'I don't find faults in people because I don't look for them'. He lived that way and his life was all the richer because of it. I unfortunately didn't inherit his beautiful disposition but I do try to think this way. It was easy for him but I do struggle...a lot. Regardless, it's a state of mind and you have to work at it if you choose to be that kind of person. While it would be utterly boring to live in a 'Stepford' world, the least we can do is allow each other the right to voice our opinions without ridicule, name-calling or labeling because it just makes people feel like crap. Something to aspire to perhaps? Don't get me wrong, I've taken cheap shots but my conscience slaps me in the head pretty hard and I always regret not taking the time to humanely say why I disagree.

Anyway, with that in mind I found a beautiful place to take some photo's...I went looking for beauty and I found it. It's a place called Regenboog at Kook. Amazing lighting and ambiance.

Today I'm wearing three new things. The amazing Allure shoes from Maitreya Gold in Brown, the new Siri hair also from Maitreya and a 10L outfit called Porto Cevo from Glam Affair.  I have to say that above all the shoe's in SL, Maitreya Gold's are my all time faves.  Salience, Espirit, Shanti, Allure and all the rest, there's nothing that comes between me and my Maitreya's...except perhaps a little tinea.  I so wanted the Allure with the socks but I thought I'd get more wear from these because I so love the Maitreya foot.

Click to read my affirmations.

Sit, look around you. Isn't it beautiful?

I'd be really happy to include a link to your blog in mine so please just send me a message with your URL. We should all support each other because really, WE are the feeds and perform a wonderful service to those residents who want the drum on who, what, when and where.

Skin: Elle Fair Make Up #10 by Belleza

What's The Difference Between SL & The Titanic?

Nothing....today they are both old hulks at the bottom of the ocean.

Please hurry up and fix it...I'm in the mood for some Maitreya hair shopping. It seems to be getting worse dudes. For the love of all things pixel, can't you do something??

PHEW that felt good. Just needed to share.  Move on, nothing to see here.

OK, Who Farted?

I know ok, I know.  I went to an all girls school so this humor (or lack thereof) is entirely not my fault.

I was walking the Zombie trail and dropped in on #63 when I noticed the name of the sim. Then I checked the LM and noticed the name of the store. OMG guys, we have a Tart at Fart.

I had to take pics to celebrate the occasion. /me wanders away wondering if they have any land for sale. I would just love to invite my friends to Fart.

Please excuse my gear.  Its left over from 'Bully Me And I'll Whack You One' Day.

Here is a link to FART (chortles like a 12 year old)

Mr Tricky's Done It Again....It's An Elle Of A Skin

Due to missing L's in my SLank account, I must be patient and wait until I earn enough to buy the fat pack of Belleza's Elle Fair Skin but the group gift was enough to give me goose bumps.  I and a gazillion other people dropped in to Belleza immediately after the gift skin was distributed and I grabbed the demo to try on in the privacy of my own home.  I really love, love, love this skin.  It's soft and dewy....just how I like it.

As to my missing L's, well they are technically missing but I do know why.  I KEEP BLOODY SPENDING THEM.  That aside, I can't wait to get the fattie in my hot little hands.  Thank you for another wonderful skin Tricky.  I though Belle was da bomb but Elle is just wicked.  Now I think a skin called Chalice would go down a treat...just saying :-)

See those lips Tricky?  They're blowing kisses to you.

Starts With T...Sounds Like Ruth

Oooo I know, I know.  You've seen it before.  I held back but couldn't see the blond option yet so thought I'd jump on board the Truth Train.

Mr T is like Edward Scissorhands.  Click, click, cut, cut and this is what you get.  All taken in the color Champagne wearing my Donna Flora spec-taculas.

Chalice In Wonderland: It's Peaceful In SL

Happy Easter everyone. I've sent out strict instructions to my people not to give me any chocolate eggs this year.I don't need the calories and it will interfere with my get fit campaign so tomorrow I'll give the eggs out and try to stay strong.  I'm really hoping to walk the Kokoda Trail in New Guinea next year so need to work on my stamina.

I have a lot of wardrobe descriptions to write out at the moment and while I'm steadily working through them, I frequently get writers block when the words simply don't come for a particular outfit. The job is not boring but it can get tedious trying to be fresh and innovative so I usually plonk myself out by the pool on my Plush Pod lounge and every now and then, look to the water for inspiration. Yep it isn't real but setting WL to some gorgeous effect and seeing how my waves and the sky interact is just like watching a movie on TV. It gives your imagination a terrific starting point and when I set the sound effects it adds to the ambiance even more. Yep SL can definitely carry me away.

I often wonder if other people do this too when working away in SL. Having my own beautiful space has certainly added another dimension that I hadn't realized was missing. My place on Coral Isle is by far the best SL residence I have lived in and I feel such a connection to it because every single thing on it, I put there.

I don't usually like whining about SL issues because it's futile and people get sick of it, after all, everyone's in a similar boat. Since coming back around September last year, I've noticed a dramatic decline in performance that is seriously taking away from my enjoyment.  I honestly don't know how I'd go modeling again under these conditions.  I got through the entire marathon that was Miss Virtual World in 2009, only crashing when the sim went down in addition to many, many runway shows so know the PC is up to it.  These issues forced me to abandon land when I had paid a month up front because it was so laggy there.  I've never experienced anything so bad before.  Now I'm on an island that has a top server and few people yet it's still affecting me.  I asked around and others have also said they are suffering debilitating performance issues too.  I hope something changes soon because it's such a shame that things have deteriorated to this extent and I think how other people are finding it with computer's and internet connections not as powerful as mine.

Here's me enjoying my island getaway while I get the job done. I only wish I could enjoy such beautiful surroundings in my RL work.
