Now Listen To Me Skin Makers.

Here in dear old Melbourne it's cold, raining and windy so its just as well I can virtually enjoy a summers day wearing a gorgeous floral summer dress to cheer me up.  This is another outfit from the label ASO aptly called 'Summer Dress' in flower pink.  There are a plethora of options available for every taste but girly me chose pink.  Bravo to designer Menieelee Gelles for this fabulous dress.

Its ever so pretty and I'm truly appreciating the ability of mesh to provide such realistic folds and drape.  The hair I chose is another from 'Hair Fair', this time from LeLutka called 'Alvina' shown with the pony tail option.  The necklace is a beauty from Malt and has color change options for the beads so I chose pink, green and white.  The bracelet on the left was a gift sent out to members of Pixel Box and on the right from C'est la vie.

The cute clutch I purchased on Marketplace from a store called Avale.  Beautifully made - just look at the leather folds which make it ever so realistic.

Here's another view of the bag.  I donned some cool white sunnies from Ison when the sun came out.

I purchased the fat pack of these shoes when Maitreya had their sale recently.  Just look at the work in them...those heels are so lovely and resemble snake skin which is an option with the shoes.  Called 'Shiki', I am so grateful that I could fat pack not feeling so guilty when the 50% sale was on.

Here's another really lovely sim I just discovered called 'Black Forest'.  I get such a buzz finding new places where clever people have created some kind of wonderful with amazing attention to detail.

ACHTUNG SKIN MAKERS:

Now I'm not a whinging whiny person by nature but I feel I must speak up on behalf of all lovers of SLINK hands and feet.  Why aren't more skin makers creating hand and feet skin appliers so we can all enjoy delightful digits rather than the crumby ugly ones on the stock standard avatar?  Please, PLEASE provide these in your store. I personally cannot imagine why you don't because I've reched the stage where I won't buy skins unless these are available.  I'm rubbish at manual matching and won't even try.  I'm sure I'm not alone in this so do us all a favor and get on board.

Natural Beauty Meets Sascha's Designs = Perdy Me

I died bringing you this post. In fact I died 4 times. I scooted off to Wolfenstein because I liked the aesthetics of the sim but it turned out to be a combat location and hidden in the hills, unseen residents were playing 'shoot em ups' and I was the target. Thanks dudes! Every time I got the shot set up which took me forever, BANG I was dead and on my way home. Well I guess it serves me right for entering unarmed. The only thing I had was some very pointy and possibly deadly stiletto's but didn't fancy getting blood on them.

Anyway I managed to finally finish the shots featuring two of SL's powerhouses. That being Sascha Frangilli from Sascha's Designs and Miah McAuley from Natural Beauty. Both darlings sent me little gifties from their new range and I thought I would join forces and combine their products in the one post.

Click the pics for an eyeful.

Sascha's new gown is called Zephra and comes in Black or White. I love the chance to don one of her stunners and opted for dramatic black for this series. I added a few little pieces like the orange belt and hair piece because it's always fun to give your outfits the personal touch. Your shopping bag will be overflowing with all of the extras Sascha provides with her outfits including bolero, hat, lacy shawls to name but a few.

Miah's new Natural Beauty skin range is called Malinka and with 10 make up choices in each tone that includes light and dark brows, 2 cleavage options and brow shaper, don't say she doesn't spoil you. Likewise, Miah offers 8 skin tones from light to dark and everything in between. It's been such a pleasure to see Miah's label grow and develop. She really offers an exceptional product and given the range she has built up, has worked incredibly hard.

Until next time...be sweet.

Tik Tok Becomes "Natural Beauty" And Celebrates With New Release Olga Skin

Miah McAuley has changed the name of Tik Tok to Natural Beauty and to celebrate the occasion, she has released a new skin called Olga. Available in Fair, Tan, Deep Tan and Dark, a fat pack of five skins will only set you back a meager $1,370 L's. Now that's an excellent price for five glorious faces.

Miah has created a new group for her new label and wants you all to join to show off how fabulous you look in Natural Beauty Skins. Click HERE to join.

Olga is a classic, refined skin and comes with or without cleavage. I have shown the skin in the fair tone with cleavage. Great skin Miah and congratulations on the name change. Olga is the perfect skin for your launch because it definitely screams Natural Beauty.

More Lionskin Fabulosity. A Face For Every Occasion.

The news on the grape vine is that Lion Jonesford has gone completely mad and can't stop creating new make up layers and out of this world lashes. Allegedly she is sitting in her skin studio furiously creating saying 'I have to give them more. More. MORE'. Seriously folks...she needs an intervention. When you stop by to check out these fabulous, vibrant make ups and eye lashes, slap some sense into her and make her go to bed.

Click the pics for a more detailed look at these wonderful face make ups and decadent eye lashes. These are only a teaser of what is available. With a banquet of colors and choice of cute teeth peeping out or wet look lipstick, these tattoo add ons work perfectly with Lion's Lea skin or in fact, any skin you have in your inventory. The huge range of prim lashes are stunners and will give you a unique edge to your look.

This girl never stops giving us gorgeous. My hair is from LoQ called Hot Chocolate and designed by Gia Pawpad. Love it Gia.

I have neglected my darling blog for a couple of weeks due to a busy work schedule but hopefully can get in some more posts in the next few weeks.

The Many Faces Of LionSkins LEA.

LionSkins LEA with add on's to burn.

Lion Jonesford has a new release about to hit the scene called Lea and I tell you SLifer's, it's all about the ADD-ON. Having to buy a fat pack of the same skin tones with different make ups is history. Purchasing one skin tone with add-on's is the future and Lion is taking us there in her colorful space ship at warp speed. The ability to interchange make up, eyeliner, hair etc not only with a LionSkin base, but other skins allows us even more individuality.

You select your skin by purchasing either light, red or dark brows in either Pale, Sun or Sunkiss tones of skin. Lea is available in two different looks, Teen or Adult. Then the real fun begins by selecting your favorite make up's, eyeliners, hairs, hair bases.  Knowing Lion, the selection will be mega huge and she'll be adding to her add-on's as time goes by.  Here's a little sneak peak at some of the different looks Lion gives us wearing the Lea base with her tattoo layer add-on's. This skin is all about having fun.

Above - Here I'm wearing the Lea Adult base skin in Pale with an add-on make up and her amazing add-on Head Undies. (Please note that Lion assures me she has thoroughly washed her undies before turning them into head wear).

Above - Another make up and hair base add-on.

Above - Wearing the red hair base add-on and a different make up.

Above - Are you getting the idea. The possibilities are endless.

Above - Another make up choice worn with Lion's eye liner add-on. Beautiful.

Above - This is the natural Lea base. What I adore about this range is the variety of looks one can achieve from young and funky to avant-garde and edgy.

Above - Wearing the dark hair base with dark brows. The hair bases are sensational and I love the definition of the hair line.  Lion also made the top in this picture.  It's just the most fabulous thing ever.  The left boob is actually a weapon and I'm not afraid to use it.

Here's the limo to LionSkins.  Remember, don't drink n drive.

SPOTLIGHT ON...LionSkins and introducing the soon to be released Zora.

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

Here is my interview with the irrepressible Lion Jonesford, skin maker extraordinaire of LionSkins.

(CC) When did you open LionSkins?

(LJ) LionSkins first opened its doors 3 years ago now.

(CC) Why skins particularly?

(LJ) I was already doing airbrush art in my first life for films, effects, and adverts etc and it inspired me to try adding these types of art to skins for people to wear.

(CC) When you opened your first shop, how many different skin lines did you have for sale?

(LJ) When LionSkins first opened, we only had one skin line called ZEE and it came in five skin tones. I started with only one skin line to see what the response would be to something so different from what was already available in world.

(CC) Were there any particular skin designers who inspired your early work?

(LJ) Yeah, after seeing all the noob style skins in the market, I was really inspired to make better quality skins available for all, especially after seeing a very glamorous lady, I knew it was possible to do.

(CC) What kind of woman wears LionSkins? Who do you market to?

(LJ) LionSkins aims for free spirits, someone who isn't afraid to be different and stand out from the crowd. There are no rules on how to wear or when to wear, with pixel makeup you can’t mess it up when you go to sleep lol.

(CC) Which skin line are you most proud of?

(LJ) My favorite skin line from the past would have to be CANA. It had a fantastic response from customers in world. Of my more current skin lines I love SUKAI. I learnt new skills and experiences in creating this. All of these new skills I have learnt are really making the work I do today much faster and of a much higher quality and so I’m really loving the newer skin lines more.

(CC) You work so hard on your skins and marketing your business. Where does your inspiration come from?

(LJ) The main reason is because I find it’s my way to have fun and express myself. I get inspired a lot from my real life experiences and surroundings and my wild lifestyle. People have described me as a kind of female Indiana Jones on a world journey. My other inspiration comes from the pressure and unfair things that have happened to me both in world and in the real world. The more people try to bring me down the more I come out fighting and I work harder.

(CC) Apart from your fabulous main store, you have a satellite store in a great location on LeeZu Baxter's 'To The Nines' sim. Given no other outside designer's share space with LeeZu, how did that come about?

(LJ) Well LeeZu was one of the first people I met in Second Life and she encouraged me when I was starting out. LeeZu was one of my very first customers, she loved my free style and after having done a few projects together we are now used to working closely. I also have had the pleasure working with other designers too for example, last year I worked with Nardya Rousselot of Nardcotix (NOIR skins) and it was really nice and uncomplicated. Also last year I made a special edition DOLLHOUSE collection for HOUSE OF BENINGBOROUGH and they did an amazing show using my skins. In fact it’s my favorite show to date. It was a perfect project between two designers. I really wish more designers could share their own experiences and work together on projects to help make SL a nicer and more fun place for all.

(CC) You have joined creative forces with Tabata Jewell's Vanity Hair label. Can you tell us more about that?

(LJ) I approached Tabata and asked would she be interested in doing a project together and being the open minded person that she is, she happily agreed. Through working together on these last projects we have become very good friends.

(CC) For people who know nothing about skin creation, what is the hardest part of the body to perfect?

(LJ) Basically a skin is made up of lots of layering of templates and consists of three parts, the head, upper part and lower part. To try and get the three parts together with all shading and effects etc without seeing the lines that join them is something that drives many people crazy. It’s extremely complicated. Another difficult part of skin making is to do the effects from the side of body. Hands and feet can be complicated as the template is so very small to get into details especially when the template only gives one hand and one foot to work on.

(CC) Which skin tone is the hardest to work with, light or dark?

(LJ) I personally find that very light skins can be the hardest to work with. It’s harder to add shading or 3D effects on very pale skins when everything looks so white and flat.

(CC) Have you got any exciting plans for LionSkins in the near future?

(LJ) We have yes. We have a contest going on at the moment which is due to end on 15th September. We are taking part in the Modeling Convention by Premiere Modeling Agency and we also have a Fashion Rocks serious of mini events and main event coming up. We also have many more fun and exciting things coming up soon but we are keeping them a surprise for now. :-)

(CC) What makes you happy in SL?

(LJ) I like meeting fair, warm, honest, hardworking people. I really enjoy collaborating with other designers too and it’s great to see what can come from it.

(CC) Is there anything you've dreamed of doing with your skins that you haven't done yet?

(LJ) There are many things I have dreamt of doing and hopefully will get to do as I grow and learn as a designer. I won't share the details now, but watch this space. :-)

(CC) Any new releases coming out soon?

(LJ) Perfect question. We have ZORA which will be released very soon, I actually stopped working on it to come and answer your questions :-) but we also have many other projects in the works but I prefer not to talk about them and just rezz them in the store.

And believe me, ZORA is the classiest skin that just pops out at you. Perfect for models who are looking for a refined skin with that extra va va voom, ZORA will have you selling your grandma for a fat pack. COMING OUT SOON....get ready. Here is just a little teaser....

Roll Up...Roll Up. The Bearded Woman

Chalice In Wonderland Blog
SL can be so cruel.

No I haven't ventured in to skin making. I have stopped laughing just long enough to post a pic of how I looked when I logged in tonight.

I've seen lots of glitches in my time but this is the ultimate in weird.

P.S. Speaking of skins. I have a skin release scoop coming up soon. ROAR.

SOON TO BE RELEASED - Michelle Skin from Mayden Couture

I love to get the drum on new releases and last night I got just that. Ms Maika Koray, the designer behind Mayden Couture, sent me a review copy of the about to be released Michelle Skin. In the folder were two skin tones, one dark and one lighter. Unfortunately I haven't been able to contact Maika to confirm the names of the two tone's; however, I opted to show the lighter skin. I also don't have a date of release for this skin but if I can catch up with Maika I'll pass it on.

As I always do when I review something, I visited Mayden Couture to get a feel for the product and to cast my eye over the existing skin range. Mayden Couture was an impressive enterprise. The skins are beautifully presented in vendor posters and the clothing, shoe, eye, nail, hair range available ensures there is something for everyone. Definitely a one-stop-shop for fashion lovers.

Without further ado, let me introduce Michelle.

I think the face make up is just gorgeous and I'm particularly enamored by the lips and chiseled nose.

I love the shading on the tummy. Quite different in my opinion as the rib cage is prominent and gives the impression of a model think physique.

I am definitely going to be wearing this skin a LOT. It's very easy on the eye and I think it just pops out at you. I love the hip bones also although I haven't captured them in these shots. As always my advice is to take a trip to Mayden Couture and demo, demo, demo. I would like to congratulate Maika on a fabulous skin that was an absolute pleasure to present.

The stunning swimsuit I'm wearing is from Elymode, hair piece is from Vanity Hair, shoes from Maitreya Gold and the black hair base is from Tiny Bird.

I dunno.

Introducing alaskametro Skin

I love blogging. A couple of days ago Alaska Metropolitan dropped me a folder of her new skins with the brand name of alaskametro and an invitation to her launch party on June 5. Unfortunately I was unable to attend but finally got to try out the skins yesterday. Actually to be factual, the name alaskametro is followed by the 'greater than' symbol and a 3 = heart.   Unfortunately when I type this in I get an error so just pretend it's there.

I am (obviously) not a terribly good skin reviewer, unlike Gogo from JUICYBOMB.COM who does fantastic reviews on skins. In saying that, I know what I like and I like this skin. Utilizing the SL 2.0+ viewer, Alaska has created a very affordable way for us to have amazing options with the one skin. This is taken from Alaska's note card as she best describes her product:

Begin by choosing a base skin tone from the selection of semi-tintable, seamless skins. From there, up to 4 hair colours are available, with 3 eyebrow options each. A skin pack includes 1 eyebrow option, in 1 hair colour, in 1 base tone, but contains 4 variations: regular, freckled, Brazilian waxed, and freckled with Brazilian waxed.

Makeup packs are available to enhance your alaskametro<3 skin, and are modifiable to allow you to add your own tattoos, nail polish, body glitter, etc. Makeup packs use the SL 2.0 "Tattoos" layer and will NOT work in older Second Life software.

Base skin tones are currently available in 4 semi-tintable shades:
ROSE: warm, beige pinkish-toned light skin
BRONZE: warm, tanned/bronzed medium light skin
SPICE: very warm tanned medium skin
EBONY: cool-toned, very dark/African skin

Each skin tone is modifiable by up to 7% using the My Appearance sliders.

Up to 4 hair colours are available for each skin base tone: blonde, red, brunette, and raven.

There are 3 eyebrow options are currently available:
01: smooth, combed brow arch
02: elegant, natural brow arch
03: sparsely-plucked brow arch

A skin pack, sold at L$900, includes 1 skin base tone with 1 eyebrow option in 1 hair colour, but includes 4 skin files.

Follow the blog at http://blog.alaskametro-sl.com for the latest news, tutorials, and styling tips using alaskametro<3 products.

Shown here is the Rose tone with Fresh Make Up #2 (left) and Matte Make Up #2 (right).

Nice bum.

Just for the record, no PS effects have been used in these pics. I would encourage you all to go try on some demo's to see for yourself. I'm really impressed by this skin and the freckle's make it so interesting. I do think she has done extremely well with the hands in particular. Take a look at the first pic which shows them quite well.

So looking forward to seeing this brand grow.

LeLutka Lunacy - I Want To Beat You All Off With A Stick

Chalice is getting antsy. Ms Minnu's new Lola skin is due for release on Wednesday and Chalice is dreaming up ways to keep you all away so she can have it all to herself. What a minx that Chalice is. I've seen it on the feeds and in particular, on Ms SerinaJane Loon from the SL A Porter blog who looks simply divine. This skin would have Chalice written all over it if it wasn't called 'Lola'. I'm in love already and just know that Lola and Chalice will become firm friends. Congrats Minnu on what looks to be your crème de la crème of skins to date.

To be honest, I didn't read that bit about the Wednesday release on SL A Porter and TP'd to LeLutka like a rocket to snap them up. I tore the skin department apart with my eyes but couldn't find any sign of it. I re-read Serina's piece and there it was...WEDNESDAY RELEASE. I was so upset I had to turn on my crying animation. Feeling in a LeLutka state of mind, I went for a walk and spied the Ultra range where I found this dress. Called Dvina in Nude, I was struck by it's simplicity, timeless appeal and utter elegance of the cut.

So my darlings, in honor of Ms Palin's contribution to SL fashion and my admiration of her label, I put together this outfit which is my interpretation of the LeLutka Woman.

I do ask between now and Wednesday, if you see me camping outside the store, that you make an orderly line behind me and don't try to queue jump. I have a cattle prod and I WILL USE IT.

I've never been so excited by a release of anything like I am with these skins.

The Look:

Skin: Eclat in Pale Make Up #5 by LeLutka
Hair: Eclat blond hair base with hair attachment #1 by LeLutka
Eyes: Expressive Eyes in Big Grey by Nany Merlin
Lashes: Photolashes by LeLutka
Nails: Gold from Natural Real Color pack by J's
Dress: Dvina gown in Nude by LeLukta (Ultra line)
Shoes: Saffron Pumps in Soft Tan by LeLutka
Hat: Cecily Art Deco Hat by Elegance Hats
Earrings/Necklace: Grey Heart from Crystal Line
