I'm Not Broken, Just Bent.

I'm sitting here along with my little poodle completing this post with the faint rumbling of thunder in the background and the soft sprinkling of rain.  Rather nice after quite a few days of hot weather.

I love my look today.  I was sifting through my inventory and because I've been missing in action a bit lately, feel a bit out of the loop.  But I did find this dress sent from Chocolat called 'Lilou', then I remembered the bag I purchased from Stefan Garcia that I've wanted to blog for ages.  I found a set of fabulous scarves from Redgrave and wore the 'Arabic' one for this look.

I did a bit of Vanity Hair shopping and this is one of my favorites called 'Bitter Sweet' in the color Essence.  Mz Jewell really does come up with some inspiring designs and is very generous with her discounts each week not to mention her group freebies.

The brand ASO sent out some flower broaches to bloggers a little while back and thought I would wear the beige color for some extra prettiness.  Me likie!

The dress has beautiful folds and drapes long at the back.  It's a mullet dress lol.

The bag is adorable girls and can be worn in the hand or on the arm.  I love it when bag designers give you various options.

These cute boots are from Envious called 'Domino Heels' and I've been waiting to find the right outfit to show case them. They look ever so comfy.

My blogging may be a bit spasmodic for a little while as I'm sick at the moment and will be having surgery possibly in the first week of January.  I thought it may have been next week but am relieved to at least have Christmas without the side effects of the surgery impinging on my partying which will include copious amounts of food and cocktails. The only thing good about surgery are those few short moments when you are aware of your body floating on air and you're all warm and happy.  Unfortunately it lasts but a second and then you wake up with the pain....urgh.  Do any of you who have had surgery try to stay awake as long as you can?  I do.

You Scary Bitch.

Hello darlings.  Hope you are having a fab weekend?  Today I've put together a rather unusual outfit that started when I found this jumper with hood at Living Imagination.  I love it when I find something a bit different and the hood just did it for me.  The material is replicated on the band around the bottom of the jumper and it's a cutie.  I hadn't been to this store before so again, I was delighted to have found another place to squander my L's.  No squander isn't the right word...let's just say spend!

The top is called 'Oh My Scary Jumper' but the little munchkin on the front is too sweet to be scary.  Now finding the pants was a mammoth effort simply because finding baby blue to match the fabric wasn't easy but I got lucky at Artilleri with these capri's.  I swear I'm like a dog with a bone when I'm looking for what my mind's eye has envisaged and can spend hours touring the grid.  I also found two rings in powder blue called 'Rapsody Ring' in Ice from H.M.A.E.M. that sit up the fingers.  I love them.  The bangles are from Willow and the earrings from LaGyo.

I purchased this bag from ShuShu not so long ago and was looking for something to wear with it.  I love the mishmash of colors and textures that are so boho.  Called the 'Good Journey' bag, its ever so well made.  I brought out my fabulous 'Missy' shoes from Slave where the construction of these just knocks my socks off...if I were wearing any of course.

I found this sim called 'Aldous Huxley' where the pictures are taken.  Don't go there if you're feeling blue because its all blue and may just tip you over :-)

The Beauty Of Aboriginal Art.

Today I'm blogging an outfit very close to my heart because part of it depicts our wonderful Aboriginal heritage and the stunning art our indigenous people create.  To me there is nothing more beautiful than Aboriginal art and the stories behind each symbol are amazing.  Not that I'm an expert but I sincerely appreciate the fact that our land, Australia, was inhabited by people with incredible survival skills that put us settlers to shame.  We all know that Australia was not Terra Nullius (Latin for land belonging to no-one) and that the British lied when they claimed this country as a colony.  The Aboriginal people were killed and treated abominably and for that I am ashamed and in my opinion we should never forget it and know that the word 'sorry' doesn't even come close to it being alright.  Although we must move forward but at the same time we should never forget our history is not a glorious one.  Obviously its a contentious issue but this is my firm belief particularly after completing a law paper on the inequality within the criminal justice system between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.  I was stunned by my research to say the least.

The skirt depicts Aboriginal inspired art and I found it at Indented Fashion.  Since purchasing it I had trouble thinking how to style it.  The skirt, while not mesh, does have a mesh insert between the legs. I searched everywhere for a top that also showed Aboriginal art but just couldn't find anything.  I thought I'd just find a small top in brown which I did at League.  I also purchased the 'Grandad Braces' there.

I found the glasses in Leopard print from Le Primitif which come with either clear or dark lenses.  God they make great stuff.

I purchased the lovely necklace, earrings and bracelets also from League called 'Coin Collector'.  I so love the bucket bags from Zenith so decided to purchase the fat pack of solid colors because they're just so perfect in every way.  The ring camera right is from Le Primitif and the one on the left from Je Suis.

I found the boots a while ago from Marshmallow's.  Aren't they amazing?  The detail is utterly impeccable and I think you should all go check out the store.

I'm wearing my 'Ladyboy' hair from Vanity Hair because I simply adore it. In RL my hair is past my shoulders but I'm thinking of getting it cut like this.  Hmmmm will require a lot of contemplation because I remember crying my eyes out at 16 when I got my hair cut short.

You Came In With Your Wrecking Balls...Then I Kicked Them.

Sometimes I see an outfit that kind of isn't me but the colors and textures completely draw me in and I snap it up.  This outfit from Gizza did just that.  It was the meld of blue and aqua and sparkle that said buy me.  It's called 'Rich and Famous' and is definitely not for the faint of heart fashion wise.  I remembered only just purchasing this teal make up tattoo (lips and eyes) from Lovely Mi and was thrilled to have found something flashy to wear with it.   The dress has ostrich feathers with a silver spikes poking out and a silver fringe belt that drapes down each leg.

I don't even remember buying these great heels called 'Missy' from Slave.  They come with a hud that allows 7 texture color changes so you can wear the shoes in lots of combinations.  Aren't they scrumpalicious?  Someone on my flickr page made a comment when I posted a shot of some other shoes that they were having a shoegasm.  I think thats exactly what I have constantly with all the fabulous shoes available these days.

I purchased the cute silver clutch and precious stone bracelet from Chop Zuey Couture.  The other bracelet is from NC Paris.  I found this great hair style at Vanity Hair called 'Ladyboy'.  There you go Ramonzita, I really am a lady boy now.  Speaking of which, she/he's gone quiet.  Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing actually but like a fart under a doona, it will escape eventually.  Still selling ripped shapes on Marketplace under the name of Ramitachica so is still among us.  Whatever you call yourself, you'll always be just plain RAMBO to me dear.

I took these pictures at an amazing sim called 'Dead Pool'.  I have a weird fascination for anything derelict, particularly amusement parks, so this was right up my alley.  I think it goes way back into childhood when clowns scared the bejesus out of me as did the game where you put ping pong balls in the clowns mouth as their head turned.  When in SL and visiting derelict amusement parks of which there have been a few over the years, it seriously takes me right back to being a kid but isn't that why we like scarey movies?  It challenges our fears.

Stop And Smell The Lilac.

What am I thinking about?  Possibly that I still can't get in to The Arcade.  I want to get my hands on the new Belleza skin but alas, I'm thrilled to have found Al Vulo skins.  This one is called 'Virginia' and what a great idea to find that the Slink skin appliers were contained in the folder when I purchased this.  YAY.  In my opinion this is a divine skin and plan to head on back to Al Vulo for more, more, more.  I love you Hlin Bluebird for making such incredible skins.

I'm thrilled to present this beautiful dress from Zaara called 'Aamani Wrap Dress' in lilac.  When I saw it on the poster I thought it looked stunning, but on, wow it's even more gorgeous.  It took me ages to style because I was stuffing about and getting side-tracked in all the stores I visited.  I wanted some lovely shoes to go with it and ended up at Just Designs.  Thank God I did because I found these unreal shoes called 'Deviant Lilla' and blow me down, they had Al Vulo skins in the hud.  How lucky was that?  Anyway, now I can't wait to buy some more shoes from Just Designs and believe me, there are some amazing shoes.

These have no heel and I couldn't help but think how I'd walk in them in RL.  I know GaGa can do it but I think I'd be walking like an some old knock kneed hooker.  I love shoes but I know my limits.

I was all over the place trying to find THE bag and luckily Zenith didn't disappoint.  That shop never disappoints.  This one is a little gem of rattan, lace and leather.  I chose the Peach color and matching little studded hair bow which seems to work well with the delicate bow belt on the dress.

Words don't express how much I love this dress and how it fits and drapes the body.  Zaara has indeed excelled in making one of the most realistic pieces I've seen.

I must give a big, appreciative shout out to Sasy Scarborough's FLAIR nails.  Not only are they bloody fantastic, she shares them with bloggers and I want her to know how grateful I am.  Hopefully she will read this...THANK YOU SASY.

I've seen that the next lot of contestants for Miss Virtual World have been selected...dang.  I wanted to audition again.  Bugger...may be next year.

I really need to get going on my next Cha's Flash Fash Cash Comp.  Could this be any slower to take off?  I don't think so given no-one has yet to claim my $1000L prize but I'm not giving up on it though.  I want it to become big, big, big and be on the tips of everyone's tits. lol

Until next time my lovelies....play nice :-)

I Pia'd My Pants.

Oh I know, the title!  But I couldn't resist it when featuring my new Pia Pants from Pure Poison Fashion. While waiting to get into The Arcade...will some of you leave so I can get in...I styled this outfit using a bit of this and that.

I love Pure Poison and when I spied these striped pants, thought they looked unusual and grabbed them.  I purchased the 'Bandhni Hanky Top' from Zaara's capitalizing on the 50% sale.

They're like snazzy jodhpurs but I'm not riding a horse, just these uber edgy Storm Sandals from Gos.  The bracelet on the right was a group giftie also from Pure Poison.  The bracelet on the left is from Je Suis.  I'm loving Je Suis jewellery because so much of it is color change which gives you more bang for your buck.  Now the belt is no longer available unfortunately.  It was designed by Cocomitsu Mayo from UnTone which used to be one of my favorite shops.  Gosh I wish she would come back and design again...ho hum.  I bet Vixie Rayna would recall our UnTone shopping expeditions way back when dinosaurs roamed SL.

I'm all curly wurly with this do from Vanity Hair called 'Sonata' finished with a hair bow I recolored from ur.favorite.one.  The fantastic bag with feather embellishment is from Attic on Marketplace.

Pictures are taken on a lovely sim called 'Maria Lynn Falls'.

Now I'm off to see if I can get into The Arcade.  Make way people, I've got an umbrella and I ain't afraid to use it.

Love from me.

My Guilty Confessions And A SLook.

Mz Straw-Meme has devised another great idea so I'll do that first then talk about my look.  Oh dear...think Chalice think.  What are my guilty confessions?  I'm sure I have some in there...thinking....thinking.  OK, here I go opening up which is sometimes kind of scary because of the judgement that goes along with it.

1. I try all kinds of ways to make my blog more popular and get it out there but they don't seem to work.
I think I shoot myself in the foot with this because in SL I've become so reserved I'm practically invisible.  This is reflective of my RL at the moment because of some tragedies I experienced last year that I've kind of cocooned myself for protection.  I've tried repeatedly to get my blog linked to some of the more popular feeds, but they haven't responded which has knocked my confidence about whether the time and money I spend blogging is really worth it.  My hits both on the blog and in Flickr aren't that high and I secretly wish I could break through the glass ceiling and become more notable in SL.  I question whether my style is rubbish, my pictures passé and that my opinions are nondescript.  I know I shouldn't worry but since this is about confessions, this is one of mine.

2. I hate the process of putting links in my style credits at the end of each post.
I do want the designers to get their due credit and make it easy for people to catch a TP to their stores, but it's soooooo damn tedious.

3. I read Shopping Cart Disco's SLectrets every week hoping I'll know at least what one of them is about.
Because I'm out of the inner circle of whatever goes off in SL, I read them and they go straight over my head.  I then read the PLURK comments and the blog comments and even then, it's like another language.  Who's the shoe person?  Who's the penis person?  I dunno!  This probably stems from the fact that I have no inner circle in-world anymore that I live vicariously through and on the periphery of what's going down via blogs, PLURK etcPS - I need more PLURK friends, hint, hint.

4. When I'm out and about searching for new shops, if I see those horrid little skirts of years ago and wall upon wall of slutty looking badly made clothing, I fly right on past.
I'm sure you know the shops I'm talking about.  It's like do you not even look at the relevance of what you're selling compared to the fabulous fashion that's available?  Even today, looking through the window of some stores, its like a time warp of what was available 5 or 6 years ago and the decor, omg, update, please update.  Take a trip around SL and see the way things have progressed then go back to your store and take an objective look around.  Gawd I can feel the knives hovering at my back.

5. I confess that I wish there was a blog like SL Fashion Police around again.
I admit I used to laugh my head off looking at some of the avi's and bad fashion they used to show on their blog.  I know it's mean spirited but I think if Joan River's and Fashion Police can get away with it on real people, a SL version isn't that horrible.  I admit to taking pics of some avi's around the traps that seriously look like road kill.  I sometimes get the impulse to pop it on my blog but that's not what my blog is about.  Hmmm.  Maybe there's an opening?????

So there are some of my SLecret confessions - be kind :-)

I've had this woolen bolero from Bounce for ages and in my mess of an inventory, forgot about it.  I popped it on and paired it with my newly purchased LeeZu 'Yve' pants in Vintage Black.  They're so cute and I love the little flare above the knee.  I found the white tights at DeeTaleZ.  I was really impressed by their selection of socks, tights and leggings so if you are in the market for some, go have a look.  The shoes were a subscriber gift from Slink called 'Lara Mary Jane's' and the anklets I found at LouLou.  The necklace and earrings work so well with this look I think and are from Maxi Gossamer called 'Isis Solar Magic'.

Thank goodness Belleza is on board with the Slink Hand Applier and am wearing Mya skin in the Pale tone.  I couldn't find a Feet Applier so would love it if you did one Tricky.  If not, you're fabulous anyway and a skin maker of the highest regard.

Now here I go doing my least favorite thing, giving you LM's.

Blow Me.

What fun I've had shopping today.  I just wish I had more time to style everything I've purchased and get it up on the blog but alas, there are only so many hours in my SL day.

Like the bee hive?  Its a new release from Vanity Hair called 'Diavolo'.  Its so big a seagull flew in and I'm yet to find it.  Great style Tabata.

I got me some big ornate specs from Finesmith Jewelery and Accessories called 'BangBang'.  I do love a good pair of goggles and these are certainly out there.

Now I've had this top for a few weeks and was waiting to blog it.  I just love the line of it and the random patterns.  Anything that says 'Blow Me' is worth wearing in my book.  It's from HighRize called 'Blow Me Silver Balloon Top'.

The pants are from LeeZu called 'Florentine High Heel Pants'.  Here's a new concept...they come with the boots attached.   Brilliant.  I think LeeZu's selection of pants are so innovative and I must shop there more often.

I'm partial to razor back tops as they show off the back and shoulders and are sexy by my way of thinking.

Before I sign off, Happy Mummies Day to anyone who nurtures children or pets.  Hope its a lovely day for you all.

Bottoms Up Baby.

You know I like a good frock...don't you love that word FROCK?  So quaint!  I found this at Chantkare and I love the muted autumn tones with a very interesting gathered V-neckline.  It looks feminine and floaty.  I simply could not pass by these fabulous Provence Riding Boots from Mon Tissu.

I wanted some edge so chose this wind swept do from Vanity Hair and a strong black lip (from ASS) and brow (from blackLiquid).

You like my bag?  It's from Purple Moon Creations and in the flesh, has the most intricate detail.

These poses are from Morgane Batista's box of poses.

It's So Easy Being Green

Here is the new release dress from Sascha's Designs called Acacia in Emerald.  Available with various skirt options, I chose to wear the split ruff version which is super sexy and gives a bit of cheek at the back.  The colors include apricot, black, lavendel, red, seafoam, tan and white.

Thank you Sascha.  Its a stunning dress.  You all have to go visit her shop, it's got everything a formal-loving diva would ever want.

Come Look At My Pink Bits!

Desperate for some blogging material, I hit the shops for inspiration.  I immediately thought of 'Ladies Who Lunch' as I hadn't been there for a while and it is always a place that inspires the imagination.  I'm so glad I did because I found the fabulous skirt, shoes and necklace there.  The skirt is stunning in dusky pink with delicate ruffles.

Always up for some Les Petits Detail (LPD) action, I found the little knit top and gorgeous clutch purse there.  Just as I was styling, Vanity Hair sent out a message about their new hair release called 'Love After War' and I raced to grab it.  Must say I'm happy with the whole look.

Chantkari's In The Dressing Room

Took a flying visit to The Dressing Room Blue yesterday and looked no further than this vibrant dress from Chantkari for a steal at $70L.

Having just purchased the 'Night Coffee' hair on sale from Vanity Hair, I couldn't go past crazy locks with colorful boho style.

Take a look a these fabulous suede gloves from Celoe in 'Rust'.  The earrings, array of bangles and necklace are amazing jewelery pieces from Maylo Designs.  One of the favorite bags I own is the 'Old Batik Indi'  from Baiastice that I bring out at every opportunity.

Overall, I love my zany take on the Chantkare 'Maje' dress finishing off with my blue leggings from Tee*fy and my Pascal Sock shoes from Leverocci.   I'm wearing Linn Skin from Glam Affair with a freckle tattoo from the Daphne Skin range at Glance (designer Ava Grau - no LM available for some reason)..

Adorable Mesh Skirt From Behold Designs.

Drum roll please...this is the first piece of mesh clothing I've ever worn.  Talk about late on the uptake but better late than never I suppose.  What prompted me to finally go to the mesh side and download V3 was reading EnCore Mayne's blog (here) sharing her new creation, the polka dot mesh skirt.  I just loved the pattern and shape of it and immediately TP'd to her store, Behold Designs, to get me one.

Never underestimate the power of a little skirt on those around you.  This is ever so sexy and I love the asymmetrical aspect of it that cleverly uses the polka dots to create added dimension.  This skirt is not rigged so can be modified as opposed to modifying your shape for the rigged mesh clothing pieces.  This gives you carte blanche to tint your skirt.  EnCore indicates she will be selling this for $300L but when I purchased it, it was a mere $150L.

I set about building up a look from the skirt and visited Le Poppycock where I purchased a top called  Le Tanque.  I then had a bit of fun at Tee*fy shopping for accessories and found Anya's Pico Mofumofu scarf with dangling embellishments at either end and My Lunch Bag shown here in blue and brown hues.

I opted for my favorite Arch Boots in 2 tone nude kindly sent to me by Fashionboi Lander from the House of Fox..  Also shown: Hair - Starlight in Essence from Vanity Hair; Skin - Claudia 2 Milky Glow from LAQ; Eyes - Pale Steel Blue from Fashism; Watch - Cashmere; Earrings - Antonia from DeLa; Nails - Pixel Mode

Thank you for throwing me from the comfort of my V2 nest and into the V3 unknown EnCore. I so wanted that skirt and I'm so glad I took the plunge.  I love this viewer and it actually works better for me.  Great job darling.

Swim With Kim.

A recent visit to Kim had me day dreaming about the Maldives, cocktails, massages at the spa and snorkeling through crystal waters.  The designer/owner of Kim, Kimberley Flagon,  makes the most amazing swimwear and as you can see, with just a little accessorizing, you can cut a swathe of fabulousness throughout the resort.

Kim has so much more than swimwear and has been operating since May 2009.  God knows how I missed this gem of a store but hey, it's a big world.

People do really need to lighten up in SL.  The other day I was tp'ing to a well known shopping sim that I wasn't aware had closed.  I unfortunately tp'd on the verandah of somebody's home and got hit by lag.  I keep receiving messages from the home owner saying 'why are you in my house?', 'don't you know this is my land?', 'go away' and was finally ejected.  I was completely frozen so couldn't respond to explain that she just happened to now be living in the same spot as a very popular shopping center. I did look at her profile afterwards however and saw that she was 2 weeks old.  She'll learn :-))
