And I Think To Myself...What A Wonderful World.

After watching Squinternet Larnia (Giulia) sing that song so beautifully on YouTube sounding to me very much like Marlene Dietrich, I haven't stopped singing it all day.  Let's not forget what a wonderful world it is particularly when a group of people come together in a virtual world to pay tribute to someone they admire, not only with their words, but with donations to help ease the financial burden.  I read someone saying that they never loved SL more than now once the money was tallied up.  So true.

Anyway, on to what Squinternet loved so much, the fashion.  Today I've fused Zaara with Molichino and love the result.  The beautiful top from Zaara looks to be inspired by Middle Eastern textiles with stunning gold motifs that glisten in the light.  The long skirt has a lovely belt and buckle and flows so delicately when you walk.

I accessorized heavily with this look, wearing a range of jewellery from various designers.  The bag is gorgeous from House Of Fox called 'Roman Bag'.  What I'm loving about SL these days after Siddean Monro devised her stunning feet and hands, is that rings and bracelets look so wonderful when they used to be the ugliest part of any avi.  Just a word to jewellery makes however, can you please ensure that you don't limit the reduction size of rings?  I have purchased some that are huge and will only reduce to a certain size which is still much to big to fit on one's finger.  Some rings I've put on cover nearly three fingers and unless you are producing for a Yeti, is not realistic for a normal avatar hand.

And speaking of Slink, these strappy little numbers are called LuLu Add-on shoes in Chocolate.  So clever the way the straps wrap around the heel.  Isn't it always the small details that takes something to a new level of fabulousness?

I have tidied up my bloggers list and removed the inactive ones and added lots of new, terrific blog-a-logs. Please feel free to write in my comments section if you want your blog added to my blog links.  I'm happy to oblige.

Hope you like my look for today.  Remember to be kind to one another because we only have right now.  Follow in Squinternet's footsteps and give of yourself wherever possible no matter how small or insignificant your act may be to you, for someone else, it may mean the world.

Cut Me And I Will Bead.

I just had to share one of my most favorite outfits in a long time from the label [JP]:dsg.  I purchased this quite some time ago, maybe a month or more and forgot to put it on.  When I did...well...I was so impressed that I have stayed up to blog it.  Called 'Malia', it is a work of art and comes with the necklace and beading around the bottom of the jumper dress.   The lace leggings can be worn black or in white. OMG I love it.

Look at that gorgeous belt and beading treatment and to boot, all of it can be resized.  Divine.

The bag I picked up at House of Fox called 'Roman Bag' in Rusted Teal.  My Bliensen and MaiTai 'Eurydike' earrings were just the thing to match the necklace.  I added two hair pieces for this look.  The brownish floral barrette is called 'Sekei' from Indyra Orignals and the black lace headdress is called 'Dakini' from Miamai.  I just threw on both and loved the effect.

I popped on my Fabric Platforms that are add-on's from Slink and my look is complete.  If I do say so myself, I'm loving this to bits.

Now the hair I purchased at Lotus called 'Celia'.  I really love the edginess of it and felt it an unusual cut for SL.  See, look and ye shall find.

Avant-garde Meets Jacket.

When I first laid eyes on this jacket from the House of Fox I knew it had to be mine.  It wasn't only the fact that it was candy pink, my favorite, but that it was fused with color and 'tailored' with a geometric lean.  I found these color change earrings called 'Maysoon' from Lazuri.  I love it when designs provide a color change script for jewelery, especially earrings.  You get so much more wear from them when you can co-ordinate them with your outfits.

In direct opposition to the formality of the highly tailored jacket, I chose a more casual pairing with the pink denim mesh shorts from ShuShu Trend, an off shoot from the fabulous ALB Dream Fashion label.  They really look fantastic on.

I found me this luscious lipped clutch from Alexandra Sautereau who makes the most fashion forward bags and clutches around.

The bow hair attachment is made by blackliquid purchased from the Love Donna Flora Event and I matched it with a hair base from Analog Dog in the color 'Jet'.  The watch and rings are also from Donna Flora.  The blue bracelet is from another favorite jeweler, FuLu, called Eugenie.

Out come my most favorite Tri-Colored Wedges from SLINK which I colored in an array of pinks.

I had so much fun styling this outfit around the House of Fox jacket.  I'm a fan girl of that label and have been for years.  It's always an interesting fashion journey when you find that one piece and begin to style because you never know where you'll end up.

I'm preparing for another Cha's Flash Fash Cash Comp so keep a watchful eye to see if you are featured and you could win $1000L if you are the first to comment with your SL name.  There were no winner's in my first attempt but being the eternal optimist, will keep plugging away.

PS: Belleza has now released SLINK Feet Appliers.  YAY Tricky B...you rock.

Adorable Mesh Skirt From Behold Designs.

Drum roll please...this is the first piece of mesh clothing I've ever worn.  Talk about late on the uptake but better late than never I suppose.  What prompted me to finally go to the mesh side and download V3 was reading EnCore Mayne's blog (here) sharing her new creation, the polka dot mesh skirt.  I just loved the pattern and shape of it and immediately TP'd to her store, Behold Designs, to get me one.

Never underestimate the power of a little skirt on those around you.  This is ever so sexy and I love the asymmetrical aspect of it that cleverly uses the polka dots to create added dimension.  This skirt is not rigged so can be modified as opposed to modifying your shape for the rigged mesh clothing pieces.  This gives you carte blanche to tint your skirt.  EnCore indicates she will be selling this for $300L but when I purchased it, it was a mere $150L.

I set about building up a look from the skirt and visited Le Poppycock where I purchased a top called  Le Tanque.  I then had a bit of fun at Tee*fy shopping for accessories and found Anya's Pico Mofumofu scarf with dangling embellishments at either end and My Lunch Bag shown here in blue and brown hues.

I opted for my favorite Arch Boots in 2 tone nude kindly sent to me by Fashionboi Lander from the House of Fox..  Also shown: Hair - Starlight in Essence from Vanity Hair; Skin - Claudia 2 Milky Glow from LAQ; Eyes - Pale Steel Blue from Fashism; Watch - Cashmere; Earrings - Antonia from DeLa; Nails - Pixel Mode

Thank you for throwing me from the comfort of my V2 nest and into the V3 unknown EnCore. I so wanted that skirt and I'm so glad I took the plunge.  I love this viewer and it actually works better for me.  Great job darling.

Spring Has Sprung.

Coffee? Tea? Me?

Hi babies...well while I appreciate many of you are enjoying the glory of autumn, my reality is SPRING. I was enjoying a shop-a-thon the other day at the Modavia sim and found this gorgeous body suit in House of Fox that I'm wearing as swimwear. Because I've already had a few swims in RL, I wanted Chal to don a swimsuit and get in the sun. Look at the wonderful texture and colors of the Asmara Bodysuit. Gorgeous no?

I also wandered around the Jewelery Fair and fell in love with the gold bracelets and heart earrings from U&R Dogs. Can I make a suggestion without being shot? I found some of the vendor poster's and general marketing presentation of some jewelery designers lacking in inspiration and creativity. Perhaps if you stand back with a critical eye and also visit some of bigger known designers you will see that tiny little posters where you can barely see the pieces, poorly taken pictures and using ill-lit avi's is not the way to seduce shoppers to buy your wares. This doesn't just pertain to some of the Jewelery Fair participants, but anyone with a store selling stuff. In my opinion, retail is one situation where 'judging a book by it's cover' well and truly applies.

I notice a few people have blogged about the amazing shoes of Similar Footwear. Well I'm on the bandwagon too because they are quite something special. Here I'm wearing Grosetto in Tan Suede and I'm in love, love, love.

Take a look at these tootsies. Aren't they amazing? If only my RL feet would get on with uber high heels, life would be perfect.  I have a limit of around three hours, then the flatties come out. lol

OK me got more to blog...ta ta.

Bintang, Nasi Campur and Spa's. Yeah I'm back.

This post is so, so late but you'll have to excuse me as I was otherwise disposed. These are a few of the outfits from the Art of Darkness Collection by the House of Fox and I must say, I LOVE THEM. Go look, go look.

There's Something About Agnes.

If you haven't left Orientation Island yet, I forgive you for not knowing Agnes Finney's clothing label, My Precious. Anyone who has a modicum of interest in SL fashion will know the amazing brand that Agnes has created. Apart from the uber huge success of My Precious Queen competition run annually, Agnes' designs have graced the biggest and the best. Imagine my delight when Ms Finney inquired if I, lil' ole me, would be interested in blogging her Rosaline gown in all three colors. The ink wasn't dry when I returned the note card and sure enough, three Rosaline dresses were delivered toute de suite.

Gorgeous, amazing, stunning...I could go on all day but lets allow the dress to do the talking shall we?

Pretty Knitty.

When I spotted the knit stockings and big pants with pom poms at Sur+, I just had to have it. At the time I had no clue what to do with it but I knew I'd have fun letting my imagination loose on this one. While the outfit doesn't come with a top and my boobs were free-wheeling, for modesty's sake, I chose this gorgeous little shirt by Chantkare from the recent group gift called Teni.  The knitted bloomer's sit just under the breasts so knew it would be a bit difficult to find something that worked but got lucky with this one.

Wool being such an organic material prompted me to follow this theme and I added feathers in the form of gloves from Eclectica, Folk Forest earrings from glow studio and the Harvest Crown full of natures bounty from LaGyo.

Unorthodox this may be, I love the natural elements used in the various pieces and free from the constraints of pants as we are these days thanks to the Lady of GaGa and others, we can all wear our inside on the outside. I'm loving these Edgy Pumps in Vanilla by House of Fox.

I knew I'd find the bag of my dreams at LeLutka to accompany my variation of a winter outfit and the Birger bag is just what I wanted. Deciding natural makeup would be a sympathetic option, I immediately went to LionSkin's Lea range worn with one of Lion's amazing lash sets.

Chalice thanks:
LionSkins for the skin and lashes.
LeLutka for the Charlize hair.
Chantkare for the Teni top.
Sur+ for the 'What A Knitty' pants and stockings.
Eclectica for the feathered gloves.
LeLutka for the Birger bag.
LaGyo for the Harvest Crown.
House of Fox for the Edgy Pumps.
Glow Studio for the earrings.
Idea Motus for the poses.

Homage To The House Of Fox and LionSkins Zora Magic.

Oh wow. Juggling RL work and my love of SL fashion blogging is difficult and getting this story out has been a drawn out process. I'd just finished and went in world to find that House of Fox has closed. Fashionboi Lander had sent me these fabulous outfits created for Modavia Fashion Week and I began shooting them last weekend. I'm very sad about this but her profile does indicate that something else is underway. I hope so because I've been a Fashionboi fan for ages.

Thank you so much for the fashion memories House of Fox. While these outfits are now no longer available, I thought I would post them anyway to give credit to a very talented designer who I hope will continue to create her brand of sophisticated fashion.

Jewelery With Edge From Behold Designs.

Chalice in Wonderland Blog
Nail Cross earrings and Rubik's Cube bracelet from Behold Designs steps away from the norm.

A few posts ago I promised I would show you this cool bracelet designed by EnCore Mayne from Behold Designs. It was fortuitous that when I was about to style my look for this shoot, EnCore sent out these fabulous Nail Cross earrings and I thought it was a great opportunity to show both pieces. How she did this bracelet I'll never know but I just love the fact that she doesn't follow tradition and reinvigorates an item that took the world by storm years ago.

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

The Nail Cross earrings are another variation on a theme and I love the delicate red stone at it's center and the fact they are made to look like horse shoe nails.

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

To compliment EnCore's unusual pieces, I opted for something avant-garde and I knew exactly where to go. BiancaF has been a favorite designer of mine for a million years and I popped over to see what treasures she had dreamed up. I spied an outfit called Body Structure and wore only the prim pieces of the exterior dress to keep color out of the equation so that the Rubik's Cube bracelet had center stage.

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

To avoid hair taking over the look, I wore a knitted turban from Ce Cubic Effect and poked in some flexi feathers created by SL resident Vanilla Sola.

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

I had so much fun discovering NOMOS2, a residential role play sim that is just so well built with amazing views everywhere you turn. It felt like I was in the movie Blade Runner.

Thank you EnCore for the earrings love. I'm still working on solving the Rubik's Cube. I might have it by next year.
