Come Into My Dressing Room Said The Fashionista To The Fashionata.

Well my dears, day two of not being able to have fun in The Arcade saw me visit The Dressing Room for a shop-a-thon and I found me some goodness.  The hair is a beauty in a huge variety of colors from LoQ Hair called 'Donut' shown in Caramel.  The mesh top and skirt are from Ricielli called 'Papi 11 Jumpsuit' in Pink and Nude.  Its a lovely little outfit and I love the belt and cuffs which really set it off.  Finally the skin is from Al Vulo called 'Cecilla'.  All are bargains and that's what is wonderful about these events where designers contribute their wares for us to enjoy without having to rob a bank.

The draping of the shirt over the belt and folds of the skirt are what make mesh so special.

I used the color change menu on the 'Ireben Carry All' bag from Indyra Originals to compliment the skirt and found these great suede boots from Maitreya called 'Radical'.

Some earrings from Pixel Box from the 'Steampunk Open Secrets' set and a group gift necklace from Pure Poison Fashion were added along with the suede 'Mery' gloves from Celoe and I'm done.

If you haven't visited The Dressing Room this round, do go.  There's some great stuff to be had.

Cut Me And I Will Bead.

I just had to share one of my most favorite outfits in a long time from the label [JP]:dsg.  I purchased this quite some time ago, maybe a month or more and forgot to put it on.  When I did...well...I was so impressed that I have stayed up to blog it.  Called 'Malia', it is a work of art and comes with the necklace and beading around the bottom of the jumper dress.   The lace leggings can be worn black or in white. OMG I love it.

Look at that gorgeous belt and beading treatment and to boot, all of it can be resized.  Divine.

The bag I picked up at House of Fox called 'Roman Bag' in Rusted Teal.  My Bliensen and MaiTai 'Eurydike' earrings were just the thing to match the necklace.  I added two hair pieces for this look.  The brownish floral barrette is called 'Sekei' from Indyra Orignals and the black lace headdress is called 'Dakini' from Miamai.  I just threw on both and loved the effect.

I popped on my Fabric Platforms that are add-on's from Slink and my look is complete.  If I do say so myself, I'm loving this to bits.

Now the hair I purchased at Lotus called 'Celia'.  I really love the edginess of it and felt it an unusual cut for SL.  See, look and ye shall find.

Go On. Mesh With My Head.

Finding titles for all my posts always gives me a laugh.  I'm either listening to a song and use the name or a line from it, am thinking about my ex and want to purge any negative feelings to make some poignant statement only I understand or try to use something about the outfit, look or designer.  So YES kids...today I'm featuring something from MESH HEAD.

Recently I was sent this edgy little dress from Mesh Head's designer, Franceco Carrara, called 'Vintage Metal Mini Dress'.  What I love about Mesh Head is the fact that Fran provides huds for many of her items to change either the patterns and/or colors.  Great for those who don't like to change every two seconds (like me) but can still look different at the click of a button.

The earrings and necklace set are called 'Signs' from Bens Beauty.  I think they're very effective and are definitely a sign for me to shop at Bens more often.

As always, Mesh Head clothing always offers stunning details such as well placed material shine, realistic folds and shading.

I found these stunning tatt's from Garden of Ku Tattoo's called "Niu Kua".  In addition, I'm wearing a tattoo on each wrist called 'Iron Cross' from Little Pricks.  Is that not the most precious name for a tattoo parlor?

I stumbled across this fabulous curly do with shaved pattern at the back of the head from Unorthodox called 'JoliDopa Ponytail'.   Won't be taking this hair off in a hurry such is my love for it.

I GOS'ed again.  I've had my eyes on these 'Angelina Peeptoe's' for weeks and needed little (read NO) encouragement to go get them to wear with this outfit.  With heels as sublime as these, I'll lick my own feet.  I wonder how many GOS shoe purchases before I have a shoe named after me????  I think it should be called "THE CHALICE SANS CALLUS".

Notice the leg tattoo that's a part of the 'Niu Kua' tattoo set.

I wore my Fishy Strawberry lace cycling pants again.  Designers of SL...make me more, MORE, MORE.  Different lengths, patterns, colors.  I just love them as I think they definitely tart up an outfit.  In my opinion, I think we could use a more creative use of leggings like Fishy has done.

Okidoki.  Off to style another outfit. Boi for now.

Little Dress...Big Impact.

I admit I'm feeling a bit down since Mother's Day.  Having lost my mum in October last year, it really hit home how much I miss her and would give anything for her to be in the land of the living.  Not that I need a special day for the loss to hit home because everyday she's on my mind.  So I send out special love to all those who have lost their mum's.  On the odd occasion she came in and watched me interact in SL, she was fascinated by the concept and thought it was hysterical when I was Miss Australia in Miss Virtual World 2009.  She thought my outfits on that day were beautiful and booed when I didn't win saying the judges were blind...only a mother eh?

Anyway today I'm featuring a new release dress from Kanou called 'Monica' shown in Turquoise.  Monica is also available in Chocolate, Pistachio, Raspberry, Tangerine and Wine colors.  Its a gem of a dress and I love the fancy straps and flared trim on the bodice.  It sells for a mere L$150 which is an excellent price for this sexy little number.

The hair flower is from Miel.  I do have a soft spot for hair adornments and usually pick them up around the place.  I admit to having a splurge on hair at Diva.  They have lucky boards there that change every 5 minutes so its well worth spending some time there and if you're lucky, your letter will come up and you will have some great free hair.  This style is called 'Kall' in Moon Stone color.  I think designer Marisa Kira has created such realistic hair and her ability to produce whispy, flowy styles gives a whole new dimension to SL hair.

Again I headed over to Slink to purchase some more add-on shoes compatible with their natural feet.  This style is called 'Fabric Pumps' in black.  The bag I picked up from Indyra Originals called 'Marina Shoulder Tote'.  I'm very impressed with the realistic texturing and gold hardware.

Please note, I hope these LM's are correct.  SL was being a pain due to rolling restarts and I was unable to get the LM's from the world map like I usually do.  If they are wrong, I apologise.

The Meme Of All Meme's - Why Do I Blog??????

Hey it's Berry Meme Monday don't ya know!  I love this one about blogging so thought I'd share the space where it all happens.

So here are my answers -

1. How long have you been blogging?
I started Chalice In Wonderland some time in 2008 then stopped.  I resurrected it in July 2009.  Half of me loves doing it and the other half worries about the time I spend doing it thinking I could be devoting time to something else.  I reason however, that its a creative outlet because I have a RL job that requires an entirely different persona.

2. Why did you start blogging?
I initially started it when I was a contestant in Miss Virtual World representing my home country, Australia.  I wanted to share the journey which I did but at the time my ex-husband was getting pissy about me being in SL so I quit.  I took it up again in 2009 because I really did need a little me time and it did help me unwind for an hour or two in the evening.  I figured my ex-husband loved to watch sports on TV so I could have a Second Life. lol.  I used to be very mindful about the time I spent doing SL things but now I'm single, its not the issue it once was.

3. How many times a week do you post an entry?
Probably around 5 to 6 times a week.  I do fluctuate depending on spare time and inclination.

4. How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis?
Gawd it would have to be a lot.  Not sure of numbers but I do have a lot of favorites.  I use the feeds to keep up with who's doing what.

5. Do you comment on other people's blogs?
Yep I sure do.  I love to receive comments and I love to give them for posts I appreciate.  Lets face it, we don't blog hoping no one will read it, so validation from time to time is nice.  I also get a buzz when designers come on and let you know they know you've blogged their items.  I think as a community it would be great if we could give encouragement to each other through comments.

6. Do you keep track of how many visitors you have?
Yes via my counter, Blogger stats and Feedjit widget.  I unfortunately lost my original counter so have started again.  I wish I had more visitors though but that's just me being greedy.

7. Did you ever regret a post that you wrote?
Yes...on my original blog I got involved with something I never should have and it kind of blew up in my face.  That taught me to really think about what I post and not use my fashion blog as a soap box for SL issues that really don't concern me.

8. Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog?
This is a hard one.  I don't think I really put myself out there in either life so probably not.  The open book I initially was in SL has closed to a certain extent and I mainly focus on promoting fashion items and designers.  One of my favorite bloggers is Emerald Wynn and I really love how she perfectly mixes her SL avi exploits and RL persona into her blog.  It's an interesting format but she's a wonderful writer and commentator on life in general which is why it works so well.

9. Do you blog under your real name?
My SL real name but not my real real name. lol

10. Are there topics that you would never blog about?
The traditional ones like politics and religion...no, no, never.  I wouldn't blog about other people's choices in SL or expose anyone.  Its just not me dishing any dirt so yes, anything controversial I steer away from.   BUT I have an admission.  I do like a bit of muck raking so perhaps I'm as bad as those that do it.

11. What is the theme/topic of your blog?
Basically just showing off fashion items and talking about those who design them.  I find it funny that while so many other blogs support all these events/charities/causes etc., I just keep on buying clothes and blogging about them.  The pressure I'd feel in being an official blogger for 'blah, blah' would be too much for me to handle I think.  I'd be nervous I wouldn't do them justice.

12. Do you have more than one blog?  If so, why?
No only this one.

13. What have you found to be the benefits of blogging?
Well for me it's certainly not getting the drum on new releases or free clothing?  That's a rarity for me.  I think the benefits are creating looks from random pieces and trying to make them appealing.  Whether I'm successful, well that's not for me to say.

14. So why do you continue to blog?
Because there's nothing else I can do in SL.  I wouldn't know the first thing about actually designing a clothing item and I don't build...I just dress my dolly.  To me its essentially role playing being a clothes horse  Boring as shit aren't I?  lol

With all the penis talk going on at the moment, I thought I'd add to the drama and wear my COCK top.  Cock-a-doodle-do darlings.

Bottoms Up Baby.

You know I like a good frock...don't you love that word FROCK?  So quaint!  I found this at Chantkare and I love the muted autumn tones with a very interesting gathered V-neckline.  It looks feminine and floaty.  I simply could not pass by these fabulous Provence Riding Boots from Mon Tissu.

I wanted some edge so chose this wind swept do from Vanity Hair and a strong black lip (from ASS) and brow (from blackLiquid).

You like my bag?  It's from Purple Moon Creations and in the flesh, has the most intricate detail.

These poses are from Morgane Batista's box of poses.

I Just Wanna Feel This Moment.

Please excuse my rather picture laden post but I wanted to show you my look and some different scenes from the beautiful sim, Natural Mignon Colore.  The label Natural has its home base there so not only do you get to enjoy their wonderful clothes and adornments, you get to explore one of the most delightful landscapes where attention to detail abounds.

The hair decoration I'm wearing called 'Promise' was purchased from Natural.  I love the whimsical quality to it.  It was so cheap I practically stole it.

I've put together a real mixture today which centered around my new 'Bound' pants from ASS.  You haven't lived until you put some ASS on your ASS.  They're different and can be played down by removing the upper leg band and/or the lower leg attachments.

I took the top and thin belt from an outfit from Chantkare called 'Tricot'.  I adore the functional bag from Maitreya and gravitate to it often.  The cute little pointy toe flats are from Tram and have feather pom pom embellishments on each side.  I'm wearing another do from Tram called 'A810' in Creamy Yellow.

I just want to say for the gazzilionth time that its so wonderful to have such pretty hands thanks to SLINK.  The nail color is from the Lustre hud from ASS.

Finding sims like this in SL are the days that remind my why I keep playing Barbies.  Now if only I could find me a Ken.

Waltzing Matilda With Me???

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.  Oi, Oi, Oi.  I'm Aussie all over in this cute Punk Racerback singlet showing the Australian flag from Miel.  If you are feeling patriotic, head over to Miel to see if your country is represented.

These fabulous jeans including the belt are from Maitreya called BF Jeans and are my absolute favorite from all the jeans I own.

I love the racer back design...very sexy.  Look at the back pockets of the jeans...perfectly threading.  Don't you just love it when you wear your jeans in over the years until they're just perfect?  The thought of breaking in another pair of jeans just sends you reeling!

Keeping with the flag theme, albeit now the UK flag, I purchased these Wild Shoes at The Dressing Room made by Just Design a few days ago.  A total steal and I love them.

These pics were shot at a wonderful sim called Neva River.  I'm sure most of you have heard/visited; however, for those of you who have not, it's beautiful and has loads of photo opportunities.

Color Me Happy With A Side Of Whinge

When I saw this dress in So Many Styles (SMS) I just had to blog it.  I love the combination of pink and brown which work so well together.  I so appreciate it when the designers create folds and drape effects on their textures and this dress has it in spades.  I really love SMS because of the diversity of items offered and the quality...I've never been disappointed.

I'm in love with these special edition SoHo Boots from Maitreya.

I'd just like to make a suggestion to designers to help bloggers be able to credit them quickly.  Is it possible that you include your name on individual pieces created so that when one clicks 'item profile', your name appears?  I find that so many times the item states 'unknown' and I have to go sifting though my inventory to bring up a designers profile in order to obtain the LM.  Not having ever made anything in SL but a box, I'm not sure if this is a big deal to do but it sure would make life easier for this blogger. Whinge over now :-)

Another Lunch With The Ladies.

Another post featuring items from Ladies Who Lunch, a brand I so adore.  The shorts, the mini leather jacket and the shoes are fantastic designs from Faint Paulse who certainly has her finger on the pulse of what we love.

I want to particularly thank Truth Hair (Truth Hawks designer) for consistently furnishing us with brilliant, quality hair.  Standing in his shop the other day, I looked around at row upon row of amazing styles and whenever I buy them, I'm never, ever disappointed.  I swear he'd make a merkin look fabulous. Sorry, I just love that word and from the moment I knew what it was, always try to parlay that into a sentence.

Here, Have An M&M.

Have you ever visited designer Moreno Forwzy's M&M store?  I did today after finding a dress sent to me ages ago to blog and was mightily surprised at the expanse of outfits that covers three floors.  There were some really amazing outfits and I found that the two mesh dresses I am showing, fit Cha Cha really well in the large size.  No having to change my shape...they just covered everything.  I also purchased the dark hair shown below.  Its such a cute style and was only L$90.  The dresses, Frill Top Mini (Pink) and Triangle Dress (knit), were only L$50 each.  I mean you can't get better than that.

Take a trip to M&M when you have some time to spare and I'm sure you will be surprised by many of the looks she has created and the amount of mesh items for sale.  It just takes time to slowly browse each vendor poster to see what you like.  Of course, with so many outfits, not all are going to resonate, but there is some terrific stuff at amazing prices.

I'm also wearing two styles of shoes from BSD Design Studio, the Rhapsody and A-List Celebrity respectively.

Thank you to Tiffy Vella from Eclectica Jewellery for the fabulous Harikoa jewellery set shown in the second look.  God you can make jewellery.

Living Glam In Liv-Glam.

Here is the other dress that I purchased on a recent shopping trip to LIV-Glam.  Called the 'Ashdene' dress, it is a lovely mix of gold and black with a fine waist belt.  I couldn't help but buy the shoes that I think compliment the dress so well called XiuLan Embellished Platforms also from LIV-Glam.  They are fabulous with a thick ankle strap of gold and silver squares and leather fringe which falls across the foot.  Beautiful work Miss Jones.  I think my new earrings from Indyra Originals called 'Seven' in Burned Gold are perfect too.

I donned the new release hair called 'Butterfly Effect' from Bizarre Hair worn in the Platinum White tone.

Linden Lab...pick me...pick me.  I want my picture at the front page of the Second Life Official Site.  I know I'm just a bunch of pixels but it would be nice to be the face that says 'hello potential member'.

Oh and another thing...my visitor counter at the bottom of the page has damn well reset itself back to 0.  I used to love looking at that seeing how many people had visited.

Sorry but SL was shitful tonight and would not provide the 'picks' option in the various designers profiles so I was unable to give you LM's to some stores.  I have given URL's to their store on Marketplace instead.  Bad, bad SL.

A Smile Is Free And So Is This Jacket.

I've put together this outfit centered around the free fur jacket available from Shine.  FREE.  I love it and couldn't wait to style it to see what I came up with.  I shot these pics at the "It All Starts With A Smile" sim and found it so beautiful that I over did the photo's for this post but hey, when you're on a roll.  Lovely name for a place don't you think?

I have to mention these shoes.  I purchased them from Lindy Modern and Retro Shoes for a very modest price and I think they are gorgeous.  I'll be doing lots more shopping with this shoe designer that's for sure.

Hope you like it.  I had a lot of fun with this.
