Sea The Beautiful Coral.

Well the Melbourne Cup has just been run and won by a lady trainer...yay the girls :-)  I personally can't watch horse racing as I would just be a basket case if I saw one of the horses hurt but the Melbourne Cup is a special day in the Spring Racing calender and I prefer to watch the fashion instead.  OMG there was some amazing outfits with hats featuring highly.  Where else but in the land of Oz would you get a day off for a horse race? lol

Today I have a cute outfit with bright coral top and tote.  The top is a recent purchase from Indie Rose and being a lover of this color, couldn't resist.  I also bought the 'Leather Swan Tote' from Le Primitif in the coral color so top + bag = fabulous!

I found this sexy windswept do at TuTy's called 'Extremist Volume'.  It would drive me crazy having hair permanently hanging over one eye but Chalice doesn't seem to mind.  She'll do anything for fashion the sexy strumpet that she is.

The top has sex appeal too as it cut's away giving a little side boob action.  The pants are from LeeZu called 'Madison' pants in the color Snow.  LeeZu has some absolutely fabulous new designs in store so if you haven't visited for a while, you really should go check out all that wonderful newness.

These super cool heels and socks are also from LeeZu called 'Claudette' and come with a color change hud which gives you heaps of options and versatility to wear with lots of clothes.

I've been a slack old tart with blogging recently but have been looking after someone who had an operation and is staying with me.  Be back to full steam soon.  Keep on being spicy my little fashion lovers :-)

Pretty In Paisley.

I popped into BeloD for a look yesterday and spotted this 'Eden' dress in black and white paisley that commanded my attention.  Yes the cut of the dress is simple but the pattern definitely transforms it and certainly get's you noticed.

The hair is a new release from Truth called 'Faye', a lovely soft up do that he does so well.

The bangles were purchased at Designer Circle from Modern Couture and come in black, silver and gold and are called 'Gaki' as was the dewy feminine skin from WOW called 'Kate'.  Thank you WOW for providing the SLINK hand/feet appliers for sale with the skin.  I really appreciate it when skin designers make it easy to find their appliers and can only wonder why every skinner hasn't got on board with this.  It would have to be an awesome must have skin for me to buy it if they haven't joined SLINK in providing appliers.

The bag which I know has been shown on the feeds before but deserves regular viewing is from Le Primitif fittingly called 'Leather Swan Tote'.  I love this so much and encourage designers to come up with out of the box bags.  If you haven't already noticed something about me, I'm a HUGE shoe and bag fan.

Now these totally fabulous shoes are from Redgrave called 'Helena' and for around $660L you can purchase the 12 fat pack and the hud allows you to come up with all sorts of wonderful combinations.  Redgrave's shoe collection is outstanding in my opinion and I've never been disappointed with any shoe from there.  I plan to purchase their entire collection as money permits.

Here's a closer view.

I'm in shoe lust with these and love how well they work with this little paisley dress.

The Orange Ladybird.

You'll need to put on your shades for this look sweeties.  It's a bright fun look from Living Imagination called 'Sweet Rain' in Orange Ladybird.  I loved the coat that drapes long at the front but tapers up short at the back and covers the head to keep your hair dry.  I decided to pop on my group gift hat from C'est la vie called 'Pretty Big Fedora'.

I again visited EarthStones and purchased a necklace called 'Neisha' in Tigers Eye.

I found this Vogue bag at Solidea Folies which can be worn on the arm or in the hand.

The star studded boots are from ShuShu called 'Trafo' and are amazing in their detail.

I just looked at the long range weather forecast and its not looking too good for my birthday party on Saturday.  Damn Melbourne weather.  Four seasons in one day is oh so true.

The Beauty Of Aboriginal Art.

Today I'm blogging an outfit very close to my heart because part of it depicts our wonderful Aboriginal heritage and the stunning art our indigenous people create.  To me there is nothing more beautiful than Aboriginal art and the stories behind each symbol are amazing.  Not that I'm an expert but I sincerely appreciate the fact that our land, Australia, was inhabited by people with incredible survival skills that put us settlers to shame.  We all know that Australia was not Terra Nullius (Latin for land belonging to no-one) and that the British lied when they claimed this country as a colony.  The Aboriginal people were killed and treated abominably and for that I am ashamed and in my opinion we should never forget it and know that the word 'sorry' doesn't even come close to it being alright.  Although we must move forward but at the same time we should never forget our history is not a glorious one.  Obviously its a contentious issue but this is my firm belief particularly after completing a law paper on the inequality within the criminal justice system between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.  I was stunned by my research to say the least.

The skirt depicts Aboriginal inspired art and I found it at Indented Fashion.  Since purchasing it I had trouble thinking how to style it.  The skirt, while not mesh, does have a mesh insert between the legs. I searched everywhere for a top that also showed Aboriginal art but just couldn't find anything.  I thought I'd just find a small top in brown which I did at League.  I also purchased the 'Grandad Braces' there.

I found the glasses in Leopard print from Le Primitif which come with either clear or dark lenses.  God they make great stuff.

I purchased the lovely necklace, earrings and bracelets also from League called 'Coin Collector'.  I so love the bucket bags from Zenith so decided to purchase the fat pack of solid colors because they're just so perfect in every way.  The ring camera right is from Le Primitif and the one on the left from Je Suis.

I found the boots a while ago from Marshmallow's.  Aren't they amazing?  The detail is utterly impeccable and I think you should all go check out the store.

I'm wearing my 'Ladyboy' hair from Vanity Hair because I simply adore it. In RL my hair is past my shoulders but I'm thinking of getting it cut like this.  Hmmmm will require a lot of contemplation because I remember crying my eyes out at 16 when I got my hair cut short.

Just Another Day At The Office.

Hello darlings.  Today I've put together another look for the office although I'm not sure if my eye make up would go down too well but then again I do lean toward the dramatic. Always have and probably always will.

I found the blazer suit at Gizza and loved the austerity of the jacket.  I wore a black head scarf from Le Primitif and efl lashes from Boudoir.

I found a great leather mesh skirt that worked so well under the blazer from 22769 along with the black and white bag.   I do appreciate shops providing demo's particularly with mesh so you can see if there's any poking out through other mesh items.  Sometimes its an easy fix by putting on a larger size or tweaking your shape but sometimes it just won't work at all so it negates the need to spend the money.

I found the cross rings at Le Primitif and if you look closely you'll see my bracelet from Mischa Fine Jewellery has my initials on it.  It is actually a mens bracelet but I loved it so much I snapped it up.  The watch is from Gizza called 'Asia'.  Even down to my nails from Flair I've kept the black and white theme.

The boots are a new release from Gizza called 'Lisha' and are fabulous.

I'm Riding Low In The Crutch.

Gawd did this outfit take me ages to style!  I started with the low crotch lilac pants from Graffitiwear  and set out to find the rest.  I went over to The Liaison Collaborative to grab IKON's new release 'Perspective Eyes' which I'm wearing and saw this fabo top from 22769 called 'Obi' in violet.  I couldn't believe I got that lucky because lilac isn't the easiest color to co-ordinate. IKON's new eyes will only be available for a limited time so don't you go and miss out because they're GORGEOUS.  You may be crying if you do but not with your Perspective eyes.  Do take a trip to The Liaison Collaborative because there is some fantastic stuff there.  I also purchased the purple sunnies made by Le Primitif and the belt bracelets made by Izzies from there too.

I knew where to go for a great bag having been to Swallow the day before noticing what a great range they had in stock.  This one is called 'Rockstud' in purple and it's ever so lovely in the flesh.

I found these shoes from Faenzo on Marketplace called 'Solstice' that are add-on's for Slink feet.  They are simply elegant and you can change the colors with the hud provided.  I labored over my necklace and ended up wearing the delightful 'Balini' necklace in camelian-plum from Zaara.

I'm so glad I spent the time touring the grid for my bits and pieces because I'm ever so pleased with the result.  Oh and the hair is a great style from Tableau Vivant called 'Alexandria'.  I LOVE this hair.

I spent time today adding more feeds to my list taken from the [SL] Blogger Support blog. Thank you to Katya Valeska for compiling this exhaustive list for us.  I went through the feeds I'm not linked with and completed various applications hoping to be included.  If anyone knows anyone who facilitates these feeds, put in a good word for the old Cha will you?  lol.  I've been really enjoying reading 'Conversations With' various bloggers on [SL] Bloggers Support.  I love learning more about people, particularly those in the blogging community, so its been fun getting to know my colleagues in SL fashion better.

50 Shades Of Purple.

I found this gorgeous lavender top at Zaara the other day and loved the cut of it.  With a deep V neck and cinched at the waist, I couldn't resist.  Off I went to find me something to wear with it and found myself again at Molichino where I spotted these pants.

Mesh pants are great and I love that they do away with that horrible crease in the crotch area that used to be a problem with pants and shorts.

The colored bracelets are also from Zaara and I paired them with the Tefutefu jewellery set from Mandala.  I'm in my Tri Colored Heels (again) and after purchasing the fat pack, will always have a pair of shoes for any color or occasion.  The clutch is Le Primitif and adds even more color.

Can You Die From Drinking Tea?

I wasn't sure that I'd get this post out this morning (my time) because my eye lids were drooping and bed was looking pretty good....but dear readers, I persevered and finished it.

Today I'm in a casual look that came about from my recent purchase of the 'Loose Muscle Shirt' from Le Primitif.  Whilst the front is fairly plain, it was the back that captured my attention.  I mean not everything we wear has to hit you front on...it's often the little details that one see's gradually in clothing that make it special.

My new spider tattoo from Tattoo Paradise was perfect to wear with this top. God knows why I'm wearing a spider because I have to call people to remove them if I see one inside at home.

I purchased these tartan boots from GOS called 'Slouch Boots' and re-textured the modifiable hat from LaGyo called 'Kirby' to match the boots.  The hat is usually white with black polka dots. The bag is from Zenith called 'Rattan Beach Bag'.  It comes with a hud which allows you to change the scarf, glasses and magazines.

I'm wearing one of the new hair releases from Truth called 'Colbie'.  See below for the remaining credits.

Now for some strange, quirky reason I've developed an overwhelming craving for tea.  This has been going on for about 2 weeks.  I was the quintessential coffee drinker owning a Nespresso Coffee Machine ® which I used until it screamed STOP, ENOUGH ALREADY.  I don't want coffee anymore.  I want Twinings English Breakfast tea ® sweetened with a tad of honey.  WTF?  How can one change so dramatically?  Very weird.

Cheerio from Chalice xx

Blow Me One Last Kiss

This is a very sophisticated dress in the most vibrant design from my new favorite label, Loovus Dzevavor.  The designer, Vikeejeah Xevion, has a wonderful vision with her collection and her use of color and pattern are so exciting that I consider her one of the best.  This full length dress called 'Deco Vestito' is a sharp mix of grey, black and gold.  Stunning.

I am really loving the jewelery of Dita Tran's label, FuLo.  These earrings are made for the dress and the mixture of bangles shown on the right of the picture are stunning.

Again I'm wearing Glam Affair's Amberly Petal Edition skin, this time shown in the Golden option.

The Meme Of All Meme's - Why Do I Blog??????

Hey it's Berry Meme Monday don't ya know!  I love this one about blogging so thought I'd share the space where it all happens.

So here are my answers -

1. How long have you been blogging?
I started Chalice In Wonderland some time in 2008 then stopped.  I resurrected it in July 2009.  Half of me loves doing it and the other half worries about the time I spend doing it thinking I could be devoting time to something else.  I reason however, that its a creative outlet because I have a RL job that requires an entirely different persona.

2. Why did you start blogging?
I initially started it when I was a contestant in Miss Virtual World representing my home country, Australia.  I wanted to share the journey which I did but at the time my ex-husband was getting pissy about me being in SL so I quit.  I took it up again in 2009 because I really did need a little me time and it did help me unwind for an hour or two in the evening.  I figured my ex-husband loved to watch sports on TV so I could have a Second Life. lol.  I used to be very mindful about the time I spent doing SL things but now I'm single, its not the issue it once was.

3. How many times a week do you post an entry?
Probably around 5 to 6 times a week.  I do fluctuate depending on spare time and inclination.

4. How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis?
Gawd it would have to be a lot.  Not sure of numbers but I do have a lot of favorites.  I use the feeds to keep up with who's doing what.

5. Do you comment on other people's blogs?
Yep I sure do.  I love to receive comments and I love to give them for posts I appreciate.  Lets face it, we don't blog hoping no one will read it, so validation from time to time is nice.  I also get a buzz when designers come on and let you know they know you've blogged their items.  I think as a community it would be great if we could give encouragement to each other through comments.

6. Do you keep track of how many visitors you have?
Yes via my counter, Blogger stats and Feedjit widget.  I unfortunately lost my original counter so have started again.  I wish I had more visitors though but that's just me being greedy.

7. Did you ever regret a post that you wrote?
Yes...on my original blog I got involved with something I never should have and it kind of blew up in my face.  That taught me to really think about what I post and not use my fashion blog as a soap box for SL issues that really don't concern me.

8. Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog?
This is a hard one.  I don't think I really put myself out there in either life so probably not.  The open book I initially was in SL has closed to a certain extent and I mainly focus on promoting fashion items and designers.  One of my favorite bloggers is Emerald Wynn and I really love how she perfectly mixes her SL avi exploits and RL persona into her blog.  It's an interesting format but she's a wonderful writer and commentator on life in general which is why it works so well.

9. Do you blog under your real name?
My SL real name but not my real real name. lol

10. Are there topics that you would never blog about?
The traditional ones like politics and religion...no, no, never.  I wouldn't blog about other people's choices in SL or expose anyone.  Its just not me dishing any dirt so yes, anything controversial I steer away from.   BUT I have an admission.  I do like a bit of muck raking so perhaps I'm as bad as those that do it.

11. What is the theme/topic of your blog?
Basically just showing off fashion items and talking about those who design them.  I find it funny that while so many other blogs support all these events/charities/causes etc., I just keep on buying clothes and blogging about them.  The pressure I'd feel in being an official blogger for 'blah, blah' would be too much for me to handle I think.  I'd be nervous I wouldn't do them justice.

12. Do you have more than one blog?  If so, why?
No only this one.

13. What have you found to be the benefits of blogging?
Well for me it's certainly not getting the drum on new releases or free clothing?  That's a rarity for me.  I think the benefits are creating looks from random pieces and trying to make them appealing.  Whether I'm successful, well that's not for me to say.

14. So why do you continue to blog?
Because there's nothing else I can do in SL.  I wouldn't know the first thing about actually designing a clothing item and I don't build...I just dress my dolly.  To me its essentially role playing being a clothes horse  Boring as shit aren't I?  lol

With all the penis talk going on at the moment, I thought I'd add to the drama and wear my COCK top.  Cock-a-doodle-do darlings.

Let There Be Peace.

Well what a terrible week its been for the dear people of America, in particular, those in Boston.  One can barely imagine the terror they have experienced allegedly at the hands of the young, misguided suspects.  We may never know the real motives behind it and really, there are no excuses for people executing such carnage but I can't help but wonder how people so young manage to be filled with such hatred.  This world is becoming a very scary place indeed and its becoming more apparent that each of us needs to be on heightened alert at all times.  Its no wonder that many of us turn to virtual worlds to escape reality for a while where we can create an existence of our own choosing.  My love and blessings go out to all those people affected and to the helpers who put their lives on the line to put a stop to the horror.

That said, on to what I love, fashion.  I was invited to join the Xia fashion group on Flickr and made my way over to Marketplace to check out their goods.  My eye was immediately drawn to this skirt which is actually called 'Symbols Kilt'.  I loved the design and purchased it.  Xia has a lot of uni sex clothing so this kilt can be worn by males and females.  I really love it but the only criticism for me anyway, is the alpha skirt layer could be longer to stop my legs poking through.  The skirt would work better when moving if they could attend to this issue and lower the alpha layer to just above the skirt hem.  Regardless, the quality of the piece is excellent and I particularly love the waist belt attached to the mesh skirt.

I found the lace top that is part of a skirt and top outfit at KANOU.  I love the shoulders, sleeves and flower attachment and I think it gives a lovely line to the upper body.

The shoes are a group gift from Pelle so a simple add to the group will get you these.  I'm wearing my SLINK hands with nails called 'Black Drama' from ASS.  I've been dying to wear my new necklace from Celoe called 'Abihall'.

I hope everyone has a super week and please, stay safe.

Do You Ever Think Of Me?

This is a post featuring the work of 7 Deadly Skins and the new release Spring mesh dress from KANOU.  Both are fabulous and I hope you like the styling.

Look 1 shows Chalice wearing Vanity skin in Tone 1 from 7 Deadly Skins and the Eva dress in blue and red by KANOU

In look 2 Chalice is wearing Envy skin in Tone 2 and the Eva dress in purple and yellow.

These skins are seriously great and the attention to detail particularly on the legs, hands and torso is amazing in my opinion.  Go grab yourself a demo, go home, stand on a pose stand and see for yourself.

I'm loving the sweet as pie Spring dresses from KANOU.  Apart from what I've shown, the other colors are pink/blue, green/purple, brown/green and blue/gold.  I mean that's six combinations to choose from!  I could be wrong, but I think the flowers are delicate pansies so what could be more SPRING than that?

Well that's it for now precious one's.  Go, go, go check out 7 Deadly Skins and KANOU.

A spot of shopping anyone?
