Coffee And Vanilla.

I love a good scarf and I've had this one from Vogue just waiting to blog.  Called 'Sharmine Stole' in Russet, it's the mixture of colors that drew me to it.

I chose these embroidered jeans in coffee from Bliss Couture and found that the new release bag from Boom worked really well with it. The top is from Kunglers called 'Alicia' in vanilla.  A simple silky little thing that is so versatile.

The shoes I found on Marketplace for a mere $99L and I consider them my bargain of the month.  They are from InVerse and are called Vegas Heels.  While mainly building houses/prefabs, InVerse have a small variety of shapes/skins, clothing and shoes.  You wear the hud and can change colors on all different parts of the shoes.  I love them.

I took these pictures at the new Glam Affair sim.  Looks great and I can't wait to go check out all the new releases I believe are in store.  Roll on pay day.

Stop And Smell The Lilac.

What am I thinking about?  Possibly that I still can't get in to The Arcade.  I want to get my hands on the new Belleza skin but alas, I'm thrilled to have found Al Vulo skins.  This one is called 'Virginia' and what a great idea to find that the Slink skin appliers were contained in the folder when I purchased this.  YAY.  In my opinion this is a divine skin and plan to head on back to Al Vulo for more, more, more.  I love you Hlin Bluebird for making such incredible skins.

I'm thrilled to present this beautiful dress from Zaara called 'Aamani Wrap Dress' in lilac.  When I saw it on the poster I thought it looked stunning, but on, wow it's even more gorgeous.  It took me ages to style because I was stuffing about and getting side-tracked in all the stores I visited.  I wanted some lovely shoes to go with it and ended up at Just Designs.  Thank God I did because I found these unreal shoes called 'Deviant Lilla' and blow me down, they had Al Vulo skins in the hud.  How lucky was that?  Anyway, now I can't wait to buy some more shoes from Just Designs and believe me, there are some amazing shoes.

These have no heel and I couldn't help but think how I'd walk in them in RL.  I know GaGa can do it but I think I'd be walking like an some old knock kneed hooker.  I love shoes but I know my limits.

I was all over the place trying to find THE bag and luckily Zenith didn't disappoint.  That shop never disappoints.  This one is a little gem of rattan, lace and leather.  I chose the Peach color and matching little studded hair bow which seems to work well with the delicate bow belt on the dress.

Words don't express how much I love this dress and how it fits and drapes the body.  Zaara has indeed excelled in making one of the most realistic pieces I've seen.

I must give a big, appreciative shout out to Sasy Scarborough's FLAIR nails.  Not only are they bloody fantastic, she shares them with bloggers and I want her to know how grateful I am.  Hopefully she will read this...THANK YOU SASY.

I've seen that the next lot of contestants for Miss Virtual World have been selected...dang.  I wanted to audition again.  Bugger...may be next year.

I really need to get going on my next Cha's Flash Fash Cash Comp.  Could this be any slower to take off?  I don't think so given no-one has yet to claim my $1000L prize but I'm not giving up on it though.  I want it to become big, big, big and be on the tips of everyone's tits. lol

Until next time my lovelies....play nice :-)

Cut Me And I Will Bead.

I just had to share one of my most favorite outfits in a long time from the label [JP]:dsg.  I purchased this quite some time ago, maybe a month or more and forgot to put it on.  When I did...well...I was so impressed that I have stayed up to blog it.  Called 'Malia', it is a work of art and comes with the necklace and beading around the bottom of the jumper dress.   The lace leggings can be worn black or in white. OMG I love it.

Look at that gorgeous belt and beading treatment and to boot, all of it can be resized.  Divine.

The bag I picked up at House of Fox called 'Roman Bag' in Rusted Teal.  My Bliensen and MaiTai 'Eurydike' earrings were just the thing to match the necklace.  I added two hair pieces for this look.  The brownish floral barrette is called 'Sekei' from Indyra Orignals and the black lace headdress is called 'Dakini' from Miamai.  I just threw on both and loved the effect.

I popped on my Fabric Platforms that are add-on's from Slink and my look is complete.  If I do say so myself, I'm loving this to bits.

Now the hair I purchased at Lotus called 'Celia'.  I really love the edginess of it and felt it an unusual cut for SL.  See, look and ye shall find.

I Heard It On The Grape Vine.

I don't know about you, but there are times in SL when I see the work of a designer and give an audible gasp.  When I spotted this magnificent silken top at Malt, that was one of those times.  Whilst there were various colors available, it was the 'Grape Vine' combination that totally captured my attention.  Watching 'Say Yes To The Dress' on Foxtel the other day, one of the brides wanted the G.L.O. factor which she described as Glamorous, Luxurious and Opulent.  Obviously this isn't a wedding dress but to me, this top is GLO.  Khea Karas (Malt's owner/designer), you have excelled in creating a top that by my reckoning, is PERFECT.

I took another spoon of Malt when I found this lovely stitched suede skirt in 'Scarlet Gum'.

Accessorizing was not so easy because I wanted to stay as close to the two stunning colors of the top.  With some leg work, I found these shoes at GOS called 'Storm Sandals' and purchased a color updater in purple.

I purchased the color change asymmetrique bracelets from Je Suis which allowed me to create a sympathetic color combo with each bracelet using the color change hud.

My real scoop was finding this delightful Ostrich Leather Bag from Zenith Fashion in a color that matches the green quite well.  This look took me a while to gather but given I fell head over my GOS heels for the top, deserved the time and attention to satisfy me that I had achieved the look I was going for.  Of course our fashion choices are so subjective but at the end of the day, you have to style to your personal taste and if I love it, that's all that really matters.

From A Distance Someone Is Watching All Of Us.

Well today just cemented for me that you're never too old to learn a life lesson.  I won't open Pandora's Box again, but on a certain blog that caters to and critiques modeling agencies, I went head to head with a certain person who I believed to be, well let's just say, wrong.  I was reminded, ever so respectfully by the moderator, to basically stop banging my head against the same old brick wall.  And you know what, they're absolutely right.  There are people who use SL for devious means and create havoc wherever they go.  Its their agenda and intent to do that and nothing I can say will change their mission to do damage.  Its funny how we sometimes get ourselves into situations that become unhealthy and fruitless but we march on regardless.  Today I learned to leave those type of people to stew in their own juices for in the end, they ain't worth the gas (or electricity if that's your mode of cooking).

Here I am pounding on my keyboard preparing another post highlighting what is GOOD about SL.  The fashion!

Click for a more detailed view.

This citrus toned dress is a killer.  It was an impulse buy from Pink Outfitters.  Actually if the truth be known, all my shopping is on impulse.   Designer, London Dailey, has done a superb job with this halter neck, backless dress with a black waist band.  it's stunning on and the colors are yummy enough to eat.  Lucky for me I stumbled across the most complimentary earrings called 'Lola Leaves' from Cherry.   I was finding it a tad difficult to find the right shoes to match so opted for a pair of 'Grace' heels in patent black leather from Gos and a giant carry all called 'Valentine Bow Tote' also from Cherry.  Really any excuse for another pair of Gos heels and I'm there.  They are sublime.

I just adore the back of this dress.  It's different from what I usually see around.  I admit that I swooned over a hair style shown on Bierno and Deeta's wonderful blog from Analog Dog so there was another excuse to go check out some new releases.  I thought this one called 'EQ' would be perfect as it would allow the dress to be the star.  I'm sorry for my bank balance because once there, I WENT FLIPPIN MAD.

I'm wearing my new Betty skin from Belleza (doh I brought the fat pack) and popped on the skin appliers for my Slink hands.  I have it on good authority that Belleza skin appliers for the feet are currently being worked on...YAY.  I am in love with this skin.  It has a sophisticated look to it and the eye shading, there's something so perfect about it.

I popped on these Je Suis Vintage Bangles (not sure if they're still available so if you want them, check with Julia Merosi from Je Suis.  The rings are called Pompeii in Circus color from Bliensen and MaiTai.  The earrings and rings from this set are so versatile because you get 5 different tones in the pack.

Peace and love precious ones.

I have to say it because I'll feel better.  But if anyone from LL was standing in front of Chalice right now she'd kick them square in the knackers.  It is taking FOREVER to bring up LM's and it happens all the time.  Be warned.....protect the knackers if you see me approaching.

Official Hair Fair 2013 Photo Contest - Be In It To Win It.

Well it's coming up to that wonderful time of year when Hair Fair gets underway.  It will run from the 14th to the 29th of July and who can resist purchasing hair knowing 15% of all hair packs sold will be donated to the amazing cause, 'Wigs For Kids'.

To get into the swing of it, the Hair Fair organizers are running a photo contest from the 7th to the 28th of June.  The theme is 'Movies Inspire Me' and you are encouraged to be as creative as your juices allow.  Now to show off your amazing talents, simply join the 'Official Hair Fair 2013 Photo Contest' Flickr group, read the rules carefully and get snapping.

Winners will be announced just prior to the start of Hair Fair with all winners receiving a special VIP invitation to Hair Fair before it opens its doors to the public.  WOW...how great would that be? In addition, winning photos will also be featured at the Hair Fair.  First, Second and Third Prize winners will receive prizes from all stores listed.  Can you imagine all that hair???  You'll be literally rolling in it.  Seven runners up will also be given early access to Hair Fair 2013, as well as having their photos on display at the event. While this is all wonderful, lets not lose sight of what really underpins this amazing event....donations for 'Wigs For Kids' which allows children the opportunity to feel better about themselves and less alienated from their peers due to various medical issues that see them lose their hair.

I just wanted to style a bright, uplifting outfit with little hair, similar to what you might see from say, a cancer patient who's hair is slowly growing back to show that you don't have to have flowing tresses to look beautiful.

I watched my late mother lose her hair during chemotherapy for ovarian cancer and due to the simple fact that she fought it all the way, I never saw her look more beautiful than during that time she had little or no hair.

Visit the official Hair Fair 2013 web site for more information.  As an entire community, lets ALL get behind Hair Fair 2013 and make it the best event ever.

I Think You're Full Of Shit.

Don't worry about some of my blog titles...they're often directed at my ex and how I feel about him at any given time particularly when I'm listening to my IPod music while blogging.  LOL

I jinxed myself.  After mentioning my biggest ever number of blog hits in my last post, yesterday was the lowest.  Fuck blog hits...I do this for my own amusement anyway so who cares.  OK I do a little bit but I'm going to shut up about it now.  Shhhh Chalice.

Today I'm featuring a dress I'd had my eye on at Manna.  In a way, its not usually the kind of dress that I wear but there was definitely something about it that captured my imagination.  Its attention to detail and colors are so lovely that I grabbed it yesterday and had a lot of fun styling the look.  It wasn't all that easy because the pinkish tones in the dress are quite unusual so a bit of TP'ing was required to accessorize but I love the result.

As you can see the details are unusual and the designer certainly wasn't afraid to play with color and texture.  I love the Mini Bucket Bag from Zenith and the pinky colored hair from Diva that give it extra pop.  I absolutely love the Zenith label to bits.

I used the color tones of the under top for the stockings which I purchased from Riddle.  I love the way they sell them in color sets of 5.  These are from the aqua collection.  Now the shoes were a bit of a find after visiting quite a few shops trying my hardest to obtain a good match.  I found them at Bliesen and MaiTai called Fandango.  LOVE THEM.

So to finish.  Thank you Ms Manna Yoshikawa for creating such a fabulous dress that totally won me over in the end.  You're quality all the way.

I think I may have mentioned not long back that I purchased a fantastic 29" computer screen which makes SL look so much bigger and better.  Well I had a full set of Altec Lansing speakers that I hadn't connected (actually read: couldn't).  My computer guy came over and plugged them in and set them up properly.  Then I purchased a top set of earphones so now I can click whether I want my speakers (for day time...blaring) or my headphones on (night time...blaring).  Computer time has become such fun and I really, literally tune out.

Stairway To Somewhere.

I think Chalice is the picture of femininity which florals seems to bring out in women.  Subjective I know, but that's what I always think of when I see soft floral colors with flower adorned hair.

I found this dress on my travels at Leri Miles Designs and thought the color was eye catching and the epitome of all that is beautiful about spring.  Again, I scoured all my favorite haunts to find jewellery I was happy with.  I seriously labour with jewellery for some reason but I do find it important to feel right about the jewellery I pick.

I headed up the long stairway to see what was at the top and this was no mean feat in my new Gos Grace heels.

Half way up I stopped for a shot.  I love these bangles from C'est la vie that come in a set.  My bag is another color choice from the fat pack of Croire 'Chic Chain Clutches'.  I love the size of it and the hardware is delicate.

I'm wearing Diva hair called 'Diva 2' complete with flowers which was a 30,000 group member celebration gift that is still available at the store if you join the group.  I love the sweet 'Sakura' necklace from Bliensen and MaiTai.  After walking up all these stairs, let me tell you I was ready for a Mai Tai.

In closing, I need more Plurk friends so if you need another one, FRIEND ME?  To be honest, I can't work out how to find SL people to send a friend request...yes, I know, I'm challenged.

YEAH YEAH, THE CREDITS:

Two Skulls Are Better Than One....If You Need Book Ends That Is.

Hey man, I've got my groove on in Mesh Head again.  The fabulous Frances Cocarerra sent me this skull head corset complete with texture change hud for those days when you can't decide what color mood you're in.  Thanks so much.  I'm a Mesh Head fan girl because I can see the work that goes into the intricate details on each piece.  Like its not your average corset, this one has rings attached and realistic seams to name but a few features.

These jeans are also from Mesh Head.  Look at the fading, creases and belt...brilliant.

The great back pack is from Pixel Box.  Again, interesting details abound.

Not many words today.  When someone you love more than you love yourself leaves, the sadness is so deep you wonder if it will ever stop.  I'm trying to be brave but some days I don't want to be brave...I want to cry and feel the pain.

Give It Up For Mesh Head.

Gawd I got so side tracked putting this look together, it felt like I was everywhere and spending it up like a Getty.  But I couldn't be more thrilled with the pieces I purchased.

The look started with the wonderfully patterned Xtreme Tank and boots from Mesh Head.  The tank has a hud that gives you the option of 8 patterns but I was particularly enamored by this design and purchased the matching boots.  I simply love it.  I also must say that I found the customer service responsive, friendly and timely.

I love the subtle connection between top and shoes.  Designer Francesco Carrera caters to biker dudes and rock chick's and her ability with mesh clothing is masterful.  What I specifically love is the fact that the design is replicated inside the top which makes for no invisible lines.

Another favorite store of mine is MOW.  I found these fabulous Grey Cargo Jeans with great detail and Unisex Arm Warmers.  I've found everything I've purchased at MOW to be of excellent quality.  MOW is actually an acronym for 'My Own Way' and designer Medusa Back certainly does it her own way.

For some reason I kept looking for 'the' bag to add to this outfit and finally found it at Bliensen and MaiTai called 'Oh My Stars O-Rama Love Birds'.  Very happy with it I was.

The watch was a favorite pick up from Kumaki which sell the biggest selection of glasses I've ever seen among other things.  The watch is called 'Rasta Army Watch'.  Seriously, if you want glasses, go to Kumaki.

The color change glasses I'm wearing here are from AvaGirl and can be worn on the nose or on top of your head.  With a color change hud, the options are endless.  I looked for ages for the right necklace and found it at Primitive Design called 'Candy Cross'.  As I always appreciate, it comes with a resizer hud which makes it so much easier to achieve that perfect fit.  The earrings I purchased from CoLLisions called 'Rain Dance'.  I again chose a hair from Diva called Asami which can be worn with or without the pony tail. I do have an ear plug in my left ear only you can't see it for my hair.  Regardless, it's from Zombie Suicide called 'The Day Of The Dead' and they're fabulous.

I should note that no boobs fell out during the making of this post.
