Back In Black.

I blame the garden for not blogging for a couple of days.  The weather has been beautiful and my lovely garden has been a tad neglected.  I've spent three solid days planting seedlings and doing general maintenance and I'm so happy with the results.  It so pretty with the wisteria, magnolia's, weeping cherry's and my glorious Mt Fuji Cherry Tree all coming into flower.  This prompted me to go to Banana Island to take some shots in my new outfit because it's spring there.

The look started when I found this mini leather skirt at Indented Fashion and grew from there.  I found the lacy top at Graffitiwear which was part of a top and pants set.  I loved the geometric cut of it and thought it would soften the harshness of the leather.

I wore three sets of necklaces from Maxi Gossamer called 'Aphrodite's Dream' using the color change menu to turn all the stones black.  I came across the 'Disco Ball' earrings at Xia's Boutique.   The bag is a winner from Azoury called 'Timeless Bag'.

My shades are from AvaGirl and can be worn on the head or as glasses...love it when glasses have that option.

To finish off I went straight to Gos for some of their amazing boots.  These are called 'Equestrian Boots' although when I wear top boots for riding, they've never looked this sexy.

Hope you like my naughty black number that I would definitely wear clubbing.  Well maybe without the nip slip:-)

Coffee And Vanilla.

I love a good scarf and I've had this one from Vogue just waiting to blog.  Called 'Sharmine Stole' in Russet, it's the mixture of colors that drew me to it.

I chose these embroidered jeans in coffee from Bliss Couture and found that the new release bag from Boom worked really well with it. The top is from Kunglers called 'Alicia' in vanilla.  A simple silky little thing that is so versatile.

The shoes I found on Marketplace for a mere $99L and I consider them my bargain of the month.  They are from InVerse and are called Vegas Heels.  While mainly building houses/prefabs, InVerse have a small variety of shapes/skins, clothing and shoes.  You wear the hud and can change colors on all different parts of the shoes.  I love them.

I took these pictures at the new Glam Affair sim.  Looks great and I can't wait to go check out all the new releases I believe are in store.  Roll on pay day.

Softly Does It.

G'day darlings.  Just before I completed this post I went to the American Cancer Society's memorial gardens in SL to place a candle and lay some flowers for Squinternet.  I'm ashamed to say I didn't know it existed but what a wonderful place to remember those who have departed this world and SL.  So many faces lined the walls but how lovely that one can visit them to reminisce.

Today I've put together a soft casual look in beige and coral tones.  I actually purchased the pants a little while ago from NuDoLu and kept them aside to blog when I found a top that I liked.  I found it at Collabor88 as ur.favorite.one's contribution called 'Steal My Boyfriend's Shirt'.

I remembered my recent purchase of this bag from Zenith and thought it would work well.  I'm loving these bangles from Je Suis called 'Vintage Bangles' and they're color change to boot.

I love these unique pants called 'Pantalon antique de mamie' in Beige.

The shoes are from Faenzo called 'Eleganza' and are designed to wear with Slink Womens Medium Rigged Barefeet (the tippy toe ones).  Aren't they gorgeous?  You can find Faenzo's products on Marketplace.

Well I had an early winner for my Cha's Flash Fash Cash Comp who identified herself and kindly asked me to donate the $1000L prize money to a charity.  I chose The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) where you can donate at Gos shoes.  Thank you so much AnneJoy, that was lovely of you.  Stay tuned for another round real soon.

And I Think To Myself...What A Wonderful World.

After watching Squinternet Larnia (Giulia) sing that song so beautifully on YouTube sounding to me very much like Marlene Dietrich, I haven't stopped singing it all day.  Let's not forget what a wonderful world it is particularly when a group of people come together in a virtual world to pay tribute to someone they admire, not only with their words, but with donations to help ease the financial burden.  I read someone saying that they never loved SL more than now once the money was tallied up.  So true.

Anyway, on to what Squinternet loved so much, the fashion.  Today I've fused Zaara with Molichino and love the result.  The beautiful top from Zaara looks to be inspired by Middle Eastern textiles with stunning gold motifs that glisten in the light.  The long skirt has a lovely belt and buckle and flows so delicately when you walk.

I accessorized heavily with this look, wearing a range of jewellery from various designers.  The bag is gorgeous from House Of Fox called 'Roman Bag'.  What I'm loving about SL these days after Siddean Monro devised her stunning feet and hands, is that rings and bracelets look so wonderful when they used to be the ugliest part of any avi.  Just a word to jewellery makes however, can you please ensure that you don't limit the reduction size of rings?  I have purchased some that are huge and will only reduce to a certain size which is still much to big to fit on one's finger.  Some rings I've put on cover nearly three fingers and unless you are producing for a Yeti, is not realistic for a normal avatar hand.

And speaking of Slink, these strappy little numbers are called LuLu Add-on shoes in Chocolate.  So clever the way the straps wrap around the heel.  Isn't it always the small details that takes something to a new level of fabulousness?

I have tidied up my bloggers list and removed the inactive ones and added lots of new, terrific blog-a-logs. Please feel free to write in my comments section if you want your blog added to my blog links.  I'm happy to oblige.

Hope you like my look for today.  Remember to be kind to one another because we only have right now.  Follow in Squinternet's footsteps and give of yourself wherever possible no matter how small or insignificant your act may be to you, for someone else, it may mean the world.

My Darlings...I Wish You Were Here.

For some strange, unfounded reason, I haven't been a customer of the store Violator.  Of course I knew of the name but I guess with so much choice, it disappeared under my fash-dar.  Well was I in for a wonderful surprise when I visited the other day.  I landed right where this outfit was placed and before the vast display of fashion that seemed to go on forever had even rezzed properly, I purchased the top and pants.

The pants complete with killer spikes, ruffles, flowers and bejeweled button are called 'Luxury' and by god the name fits.  The luster on both the pants and jacket is impossibly perfect.  Walking around the store in awe of the body of work by Violator's designer, Soraya Vahar, it became obvious once perusing her SL profile that she is a designer in the real flesh and blood world.

I found this little bustier in my inventory from the 'Black Vixen Corset' set from Blacklace to wear under it.

The superb jacket is where all the action is - we all know the power shoulder silhouette has made a massive come back and this spiked, strong shoulder is embellished by flowers including one that sits upon a golden stem.  If that doesn't get your fashion juices flowing, willowy netting material floats down from the left shoulder.  Called 'Passion'  I think the name couldn't be more applicable and possibly says something about Ms Vahar's energy and creativity as much as the item itself.

Do you like the bag bitch????  No I'm not calling YOU a bitch, it's the bag honestly.  From Pure Poison, it so applies to this bitch of a look.

I love my new GOS Angelina Peeptoes with this and the necklace and earrings are called 'Zzoie' also from Pure Poison.

I do always wonder where the designers get their names for the items they produce and whether they struggle with it like I do naming my posts. Feeling especially melancholy tonight, my post title is about my mum, dad, beloved dog and ex-husband who all left my life over the last two years.

This is for anyone who has lost the one(s) you loved.  I heard it just after my dad died and it became such a comfort for me when I need to take a minute and remember how important it is to love the people around you while they're still here.  From me to you via the wonderful Melinda Schneider.

Stunned Mullet.

Today I tip my free Summer Hat from Dollle hoping you are all well and safe.

I've put together an outfit that started when I purchased this 'Mullet Top' in Salmon from Auxiliary.  To be honest, while I loved the top and the minty Aztec lining, it took me ages to think how to style it.  I thought I would use the lining in the top as my inspiration for the pants so went a hunting looking for just the right cut and hue.  I knew that mesh pants would probably not work because they might poke through but found these non-mesh pants with prim bell bottoms at Mimikri called 'Felice' in the color camouflage.  I raced home to try them on and it was then I knew I had my outfit.  The pants are ever so smart and tailored.

I had a blast accessorizing this one which is probably my favorite thing to do once the basics are assembled.  I hung loose at Je Suis and purchased the Asymetrique bangles and earrings in the brown tones.  My necklace was a new purchase from Malt called 'Fashion Gilli Bead Necklace'.

I have to say my purchase of the fat pack of the Chic Chain Clutch from Croire has been one of my most used items.  You can purchase them at the Croire store on Marketplace.  The colors and designs in the fat pack are so varied and unusual, I just can't go past them in many of my SLooks.  The shoes from Kungler's have also had a few encores such is the unusual color that you don't see around everyday...they are a great accent with tangerine and salmon colored clothing.

This hair base and attachment pony tail are from LAQ.  They are oldies but most definitely goodies and to be absolutely honest, think the blond base is the most realistic I've ever seen by far as are the attachments.  So while I love to go shopping for new hair often, my LAQ hair that I purchased quite some time ago remains my favorite.

So here's the look from hat to heel.  Yes, I managed to dodge any bird poo during the shooting of this post.  Not sure if that's good or bad luck.

I Heard It On The Grape Vine.

I don't know about you, but there are times in SL when I see the work of a designer and give an audible gasp.  When I spotted this magnificent silken top at Malt, that was one of those times.  Whilst there were various colors available, it was the 'Grape Vine' combination that totally captured my attention.  Watching 'Say Yes To The Dress' on Foxtel the other day, one of the brides wanted the G.L.O. factor which she described as Glamorous, Luxurious and Opulent.  Obviously this isn't a wedding dress but to me, this top is GLO.  Khea Karas (Malt's owner/designer), you have excelled in creating a top that by my reckoning, is PERFECT.

I took another spoon of Malt when I found this lovely stitched suede skirt in 'Scarlet Gum'.

Accessorizing was not so easy because I wanted to stay as close to the two stunning colors of the top.  With some leg work, I found these shoes at GOS called 'Storm Sandals' and purchased a color updater in purple.

I purchased the color change asymmetrique bracelets from Je Suis which allowed me to create a sympathetic color combo with each bracelet using the color change hud.

My real scoop was finding this delightful Ostrich Leather Bag from Zenith Fashion in a color that matches the green quite well.  This look took me a while to gather but given I fell head over my GOS heels for the top, deserved the time and attention to satisfy me that I had achieved the look I was going for.  Of course our fashion choices are so subjective but at the end of the day, you have to style to your personal taste and if I love it, that's all that really matters.

I'm A Swinger.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having trouble finding non-mesh items to layer under mesh items.  I traveled far and wide merely looking for a nice under shirt or T for this outfit and gave up visiting Tram where I knew they had some nice non-mesh tops to go under the gorgeous mesh shirt from TokiD.  Please don't stop making non-mesh tops that hug the body so we can add layers.  I'm sure they're out there but I think I went to 15 shops before I returned to Tram remembering they had some lovely T's in different colors to match with the skirt.

Anyway, here is a sweet, bright look I've put together and I love the result.

I found this hair from Exile in my inventory called 'Crush' in the Vanilla color.  I purchased another hair from Exile called 'Wide Awake' which I loved but being mesh, no matter what I did in reducing my head size and wearing the alpha layers, the part in the hair was gaping and I had to send it to my trash folder.  Exile make such excellent hair however, that one little issue with hair not fitting my head is no big thing.  'Crush' came with a sweet headband and hud where you can change color combinations and I was thrilled to find a complimentary color for the floral shirt.

The skirt is called 'Horizon Mini' from Boom and fits so well.  I have to admit that mesh skirts have opened up a whole new world when compared with the old skirts with a prim part between the legs that often moved and didn't fit well.  The bag I picked up at Malt for an absolute steal and is really fabulous.

It's not often you find small clasped earrings and I purchased these at Je Suis.  Perfect for long hair as they don't get lost.  The necklace is part of a wider jewellery set called 'Isis Solar Magic' from Maxi Gossamer and comes in either gold or silver with color change stones.  Looks amazing on and one of my favorite purchases of late.  Bracelets are from Je Suis (color change) and the ring is called 'Ketema' also from Maxi Gossamer.

No I haven't forgotten you my darling Maitraya Gold's.  You will always have my heart and here are a pair from their collection called 'Allegre' in Red.  They never, ever disappoint.  How about a shoe called Maitreya Gold Chalice????  Sounds good?  Yes I know, I'm a name whore.  I want everything named after ME!

From A Distance Someone Is Watching All Of Us.

Well today just cemented for me that you're never too old to learn a life lesson.  I won't open Pandora's Box again, but on a certain blog that caters to and critiques modeling agencies, I went head to head with a certain person who I believed to be, well let's just say, wrong.  I was reminded, ever so respectfully by the moderator, to basically stop banging my head against the same old brick wall.  And you know what, they're absolutely right.  There are people who use SL for devious means and create havoc wherever they go.  Its their agenda and intent to do that and nothing I can say will change their mission to do damage.  Its funny how we sometimes get ourselves into situations that become unhealthy and fruitless but we march on regardless.  Today I learned to leave those type of people to stew in their own juices for in the end, they ain't worth the gas (or electricity if that's your mode of cooking).

Here I am pounding on my keyboard preparing another post highlighting what is GOOD about SL.  The fashion!

Click for a more detailed view.

This citrus toned dress is a killer.  It was an impulse buy from Pink Outfitters.  Actually if the truth be known, all my shopping is on impulse.   Designer, London Dailey, has done a superb job with this halter neck, backless dress with a black waist band.  it's stunning on and the colors are yummy enough to eat.  Lucky for me I stumbled across the most complimentary earrings called 'Lola Leaves' from Cherry.   I was finding it a tad difficult to find the right shoes to match so opted for a pair of 'Grace' heels in patent black leather from Gos and a giant carry all called 'Valentine Bow Tote' also from Cherry.  Really any excuse for another pair of Gos heels and I'm there.  They are sublime.

I just adore the back of this dress.  It's different from what I usually see around.  I admit that I swooned over a hair style shown on Bierno and Deeta's wonderful blog from Analog Dog so there was another excuse to go check out some new releases.  I thought this one called 'EQ' would be perfect as it would allow the dress to be the star.  I'm sorry for my bank balance because once there, I WENT FLIPPIN MAD.

I'm wearing my new Betty skin from Belleza (doh I brought the fat pack) and popped on the skin appliers for my Slink hands.  I have it on good authority that Belleza skin appliers for the feet are currently being worked on...YAY.  I am in love with this skin.  It has a sophisticated look to it and the eye shading, there's something so perfect about it.

I popped on these Je Suis Vintage Bangles (not sure if they're still available so if you want them, check with Julia Merosi from Je Suis.  The rings are called Pompeii in Circus color from Bliensen and MaiTai.  The earrings and rings from this set are so versatile because you get 5 different tones in the pack.

Peace and love precious ones.

I have to say it because I'll feel better.  But if anyone from LL was standing in front of Chalice right now she'd kick them square in the knackers.  It is taking FOREVER to bring up LM's and it happens all the time.  Be warned.....protect the knackers if you see me approaching.

Through The Sands Of Time, There's Zaara.

This is one of the most beautiful outfits I have ever shown on my blog in my opinion.  This post is exclusively a dedication to the wonderful designer, Zaara Kohime, who brings such quality, color and vivacity to SL.  Upon checking her profile, I see she is an Art Director/Illistrator and it certainly shows in every piece I've ever purchased from Zaara the label.  The outfit I'm wearing is called 'Syona Kurta' in Saffron.  It comes complete with tunic, scarf and pants.  Being this is a feature on Zaara, I chose the cute little flats called 'Ilaida Mojri' also in Saffron.

The stunning head jewellery is called 'Nizam Head Jewel' in Gold and the earrings are 'Nizam Jhumka' also in gold.

The stunning bracelets are called 'Atiriya' in carnelian gold.  I also added a turquoise bracelet called 'Vyomini' just because it's so beautiful.

Yep, my Slink hands look splendid and the nail appliers are the Glitter Set #1by Orc Inc.

Overall, Zaara has produced some kind of wonderful and I am in total LOVE with it.

While putting together this post, I have been listening to K.D. Lang's version of Hallelujah over and over and over.  I needed the soothing tones of her voice in my head tonight.  I am in love with her big time even though I've been crying for an hour torturing myself through the song...it resonates with me right now and its perhaps not the best thing to do.  Play songs that bring up emotions but hey, don't they say crying washes away the pain?

I'm Not Up The Creek Without A KANOU!

Hello lovelies.  Before I run off to hospital tomorrow, I just wanted to get in this post for KANOU.  These sexy, barely there tops leave very little to the imagination but why make anyone wonder?  I'm loud and proud of what mah momma gave me.  Yeah I know, LL and Tuli may be my momma's but what the heck.

I've only shown three of the colors available of the 'Grace' top.  There are six in total - blue, coral, green, purple, pink and grey.  Me loves them KANOU and thank you for sending them.

I also wanted to point out this lovely bracelet from Pixel Box.  Let me tell you they are having a sale and their items are super cheap.  This is called the 'Thematic Zodiac Bracelet' and as you can see, I'm wearing my RL zodiac sign Scorpio.  You could wear your zodiac sign on one band and that of your beloved on the other.  You can change the top and bottom signs by touching the bracelet.  Pixel Box have some fantastic items so go check it out.

The cute little bum bag holding my smokes and lipstick is from NCparis Designs.  My goodness that shop is full to brimming of fabulous fashion.

Here's hoping I can continue blogging whilst in hospital but I'm not sure how the lappie will perform so if I can't, I'll be back soon.  Don't miss me?  Yes please miss me, just a little :-)
