Ely à la mode(l)
I personally owe Elysium Eilde, designer of the fabulous Elymode and photographer extraordinaire, all the credit for becoming Miss Australia in Miss Virtual World and 4th Runner Up for 2009. A distant memory yes, but it was entirely her capture of Chalice from those days that got me through the door and into the audition process. I don't think there's much Ely hasn't mastered in SL and her quality clothing is like a culmination of all of her creative talent honed throughout the years.
Ely sent me one of her new releases called Cyd's, a cute collection of leather skirts, tops and shrugs available in Taupe, Brown, Purpleberry and Teal that has six color change accents to choose from. It's super cool and expertly textured to reveal amazing detail like seams, folds and creases. Her attention to this brings the outfit to life.
I've shown the outfit in Taupe with Brown accents but the possibilities are endless.
I hope you love Cyd's as much as I do.

The Sea Hole Doll.
SLife just feels better knowing I have The Sea Hole to spend my L's in. I've admired Drinkinstein Sorbet's designs for ages and this little number called 'My Heart Dress' is an inspired fusion of red and teal, something you don't often see.
Feeling the need for Chalice intervention, I hunted some accessories in my inventory that were modify to allow for some injection of complimentary color. I started with Morrigan Hyun's Elegance Hat called 'Betty' and changed the color of the netting to teal. I found these gorgeous Jade earrings by junk and again, edited them to apply an alternative color to match my outfit. I tinted the purse from Shopaholic's Anonymous until I was happy with the match.
I encourage all of you fashion plates to modify anything and everything to ensure your accessories are unique and add that extra va va voom to your outfit. It fun and certainly transforms your 'off the rack' wardrobe in something off the charts.
They say it's the little things that count and that is never more valid than in developing your own fashion style. I know for me, I have so much in my inventory that it's easy to just wear it once and lose it in the folders. I love nothing better than rifling through my wardrobe to find things I can adapt and change to give the item a new lease on life.

Chantkare, Flower And Fag.
Whatever I wear from Chantkare I love, adore, cherish. Applonia Criss' superb label is more special each time I enter the store and this little number called, Anchors, reminds me of the 1950's. Crisp, clean with classical lines, it's a dress that begs attention.
This skin from Your Skin and Your Shape is available at The Dressing Room and there was just something about it I loved. Called 'I'm Not Perfect', I wanted to wear it with a conservative outfit to create the look of good girl on a bad night. The skin comes with a dark hair base and excellent little chignon attachment. Me likes a lot.
I'm crazy about hair attachments and my dream for SL would be that all skins come with standard colored hair bases and hair designers could create fabulous styles that match all skins.

Chalice In Wonderland - Lime + Tequila = Margarita.
Weekend fever = lots of fun.
I couldn't resist this one from the fashion house of Chantkare when I logged on and discovered the weekend fever special for $50L. This was ever so symbolic as my favorite fruit is lime, I love tequila and that equates to my favorite cocktail...the Margarita. Chantkare designer Applonia Criss has created a stunning shop full of cutting edge outfits that ups the anti in SL couture. Please note I am aware of the conflicting train of thought on the word couture BUT for me, it defines my idea of top of the line clothing construction in SL
As a color, lime is just so striking when used in clothing design and while it isn't everyone's bag, I happen to love it. The outfit is aptly called Tequila so please lick your salt, sip your tequila, suck your lime and pop on your shades for this one.
/me crosses my fingers that no-one else has blogged this one. Ha Ha. See I'm getting paranoid.

Stitch by Stitch - Fashion That Won't Hem You In.
From the minute Vixie Rayna turned up in one of SevenStar Amat's designs from her store 'Stitch By Stitch' many, many moons ago, I was smitten to say the least. I remember ooooo'ing and ahh'ing so much that my sharing, caring friend gave me the Violet Night dress that I never took off for what seemed like forever. If this were a dress in RL it would have had to be peeled off me because of lack of washing.
I then met Seven and discovered this amazingly talented person who was interesting, kind, generous and intelligent. What has always impressed me with Seven's collection is her mastery of prim work. The coats, skirts, jacket's and dresses always sit so well on the avatar and somehow she always places them in the most perfect positions that when rezzed, as if by magic, everything fits like a jig saw. I believe there are not many who have mastered this like Seven.
Seven is a wonderful mix of artist and dress maker which is evident by her eclectic use of colorful textures, laces and zany adornments that make up many of her pieces. Her Frida Kahlo dress is one of my all time favorite outfits and I would give my eye teeth for a scarf in RL made of those incredibly colorful prints she has used in the dress. Having just purchased two Sir Alistair Rai scarves in RL, I would die for a Frida inspired scarf created from the mind of Seven. The way she utilizes color, often combining hues that one would not expect but it always works and if you look carefully, you appreciate the thought that has gone into creating her unique pieces.
In honor of Seven's incredible talents, I have created a mish-mash of pieces centred around her glorious 'Miss Berlin' skirt which is part of a wider outfit she created. If you haven't had the pleasure yet, do pop by her store and soak up the fun that is Stitch by Stitch.
