Chalice In Wonderland: Creating Some Kind Of Wonderful.

I've been a bad, bad blogger.  Fashion has hardly entered my head in the last two weeks as I create my own SLirvana.  Not that it matters...there's been an abundance of stylish blogger's bringing home the bacon in terms of fashion excellence.

The creation of Chal's SL home has been a joy.  It's my special place where I can hibernate and recharge the batteries when I choose to be in-world.  My RL environment is equally nourishing to the soul but somewhat more chaotic so having this little place, even if it's virtual, is therapeutic in a way.

I have practically lived at Heart's Botanical's.  Created by Dolly and Lilith Heart, this slice of heaven is the best of it's kind in SL.  It's as close to a real garden center as you'll find anywhere and very reasonably priced in my opinion and so many options that are not prim heavy.

In the first pic, I'm meditating in the Weeping Willow Tree House Tinzy from Heart's and it's an amazing place to sit your avi, especially if you have a special friend to share it with.  I am perceptually single in SL so I sit up there alone, up a tree that I'd never dare to climb in RL.  Spiders you see :-(  With a wide choice of sitting spaces, it's a striking and useful addition to your garden with a great view of your surrounds.

The next pic, I'm sitting in the Roost Tree from designer Kao Sands at her shop iTutu Garden and Furniture.  If you haven't been there, you have to go look at some of her amazing pieces.  The Roost Tree has a lay down pose so just click it and choose sit.  Placed over the water, it's a lovely relaxing way to spend some time in SL while sorting your inventory or checking the fash feeds.

Last pic shows a silhouette of my plot showcasing all the amazing flora available in SL.  Primarily from Heart's and Antreas Alter, designer of Real Waves, I am in awe of the quality of the products these designers produce.  The layout and presentation of both is amazing and I highly recommend a trip down to see for yourself if you are planning a make over of your land.

Now I've spent enough time on this project, its back to ferreting out some of my favorite fashion before my inspiration dries up for good.

Enough about me.  What do you think about me?

Chalice Doesn't Live Here Anymore & It's Not So Bad

Ok, ok I'm not leaving SL.  I've moved though and it's fabulous.  I had been getting itchy feet for a while and felt that I needed a change of scenery.  My darling friend Vixie met up with me yesterday when she asked me to TP here.  I'd spent quite a bit of time going through search in SL looking for builders when I happened upon a business called 'NotSoBad'.

When Vix TP'd to me I had no idea where I was.  Together we went into the store that sells pre-fab homes and TP'd to one in their series called 'Dubai'.  To say it was love at first sight is an understatement.  We were both so impressed with the details, texturing and overall build.  I'd decided that if I was going to purchase the Dubai, I'd get the furnished version as I felt it would be rather hard to furnish because of the architectural style of the property.  This of course made it quite prim heavy and far to big for my existing land.  I undertook a land search and in no time at all grabbed myself 1406 prims on 6144sq m of beach land.   The Feng Shui felt good and I couldn't resist buying the land and the house.

I have spent quite a few hours putting it all together and I hope you don't mind if I share some exterior pics with you all.  If you are looking for that something special, look no further than NotSoBad.  Both their pre-fab houses and furniture are luxurious and extremely well constructed.

And after a hard two days work, I relax with a cocktail and magazines.

Chalice In Wonderland: Waterfall Gown by Sasha's Designs

I think Sascha Frangilli from Sascha's Designs must be 10 people because she's like a production line.  She keeps popping out these amazing outfits at a rate of knots and they are always FABULOUS DARLINKS.

She sent over her newest baby, the Waterfall Gown with so many options you could wear it in a variety of ways for a week.  As always, her color selection is like a palette of paints....aqua, black, forest, lavender, apple, magenta, pink, purple, royal blue and silver.  The textures of this set are gloriously rich akin to a shiny silk.  The shading is something again and it looks as though you are shimmying under the moon such is the reflection of light across the material.

Sascha is the mistress of movement.  Her clothing sways and sashay's with every step you take and to be honest, Chalice is sex on legs when she walks along in this gown.  You'll see what I mean in the pics below.

Having a weakness for vivid red, I chose to show the Waterfall Gown in apple.  Go on, take a bite.

As you can see, there's so many ways to wear this outfit by playing around with what's in the folder.  Sascha has designed another hat in addition to the beret that is available with the gown.  Shown in the second picture, the Waterfall Dop Hat complete with black lace veil is chic in the extreme.

If you're looking for a stand out, versatile classic gown, look no further than Waterfall.

Thank you Sascha...you really have done it again...and again....and again....you get the picture :-)

Click the pics to really appreciate the cut and texture.

Photo's taken on location at Ave Maria.

Chalice In Wonderland: Get Ready For Tik Tok Skins

Don't say I didn't tell you.  Remember this name....Tik Tok.

I received a lovely note card from the owner and creator of Tik Tok, Miah McAuley.  She asked if I would be interested in blogging her new skins, Leila and Bunny, along with some jewelery and accessories.  The skins arrived and after hastily unpacking, I nuded up and popped them on. Miah had said in her note card that she has worked very hard on her skins and I could tell from her words that she has passion and the hunger to see Tik Tok go far.  She told me that the skins were released in February and that her intention was to create 'amazing' skins.

I am really very impressed.  For a relatively new skin designer, I couldn't believe her attention to detail and while I'm only showing the Bunny skin in the pale shade for this post, I will share the other skins in another post.

Miah's skins come with open and closed mouth options and while I've never been fond of my av smiling, I really like the teeth peeking through these incredibly luscious lips.  Bunny is sold in pale, tan and dark tones at a cost of $3,200L's for a fat pack of 8 skins or $600L per skin.  There is also two different options of cleavage depending on whether you want the girls dressed up or down.

Without further ado, here is Bunny in Light.  Miah also designed the gorgeous necklace and earrings shown in the pics.  This girl is talent personified and I can't wait to watch her career soar.  Please click for a better view.

I predict Miah and Tik Tok will be the next best thing.  While the shop is in it's infancy, you can't keep talent like this hidden for long.

Chalice In Wonderland: I've Gone To The Dogs

I am a scarf nut in RL and my two favorite labels are Sir Alistair Rai now known as Sataya Rai and Matta (Cristina Gitti).

When I provisioned for my world trip in August, I made sure I was well stocked with these scarves and they protected me from the hot sun wherever I traveled.  The Rai scarves in particular were great for throwing over my hair when exploring Petra in Jordan and when I wanted to snuggle down for a sleep, I wrapped myself up in them like a blanket.

In SL, I can't resist a scarf either so imagine my delight when I stumbled across this scarf at The Dogs, a contemporary menswear shop.  Yes, this is a men's scarf called Shorditch in red and white but I loved it so much and I knew it would work.  I saw a lot of this material in the Middle East and it's dramatic and stunning.  The designer at The Dogs is JDDM Catteneo and I want to tell you how awesome this scripted scarf is....the way you've draped it is perfect and I'll be popping back constantly to see what other treasures you've created.  So please enjoy the Shorditch scarf accompanied with white clothing pieces

Chalice In Wonderland: My Pussy And Me.

Hi, long time no blog :-)  I've been in a little dry spell lately seemingly devoid of inspiration which has made blogging difficult.  Strange really given so many wonderful fashion events have been taking place in SL.  It happens, so best not to squeeze the sponge dry and just roll with resistance.  I spent my time exploring and enjoying myself without having an agenda.  I lolled about reading the feeds and TP'ing here and there taking advantage of some freebies you lovely blogger's had shared.  I also headed over to the Accessory Fair where I found some bargains and freebies.

Here's a pic of Frolic my new pussy (above).  A group gift from Shop Seu, this 1 prim cat saves precious prim space, meow's when you click him/her, blinks and turns it's head.  He's so terribly cute I could eat him....in fact I did :-(

I have fallen in love with AnnoyingJapaneseChild Dinosaur's shop, Happy Finds. I was very happy to find the freebie gift called Red Glasses.  It was kind of hidden and I thought - that annoying  Japanese child hiding this outfit when I discovered her name...how apt.  Here's a pic of the outfit (top n pants)...the shop is full of fan-dorable's like this.

I also discovered Serenite Stransky's SyDY's shop that sells rings, furniture and hair.  I had the best time waiting for the lucky boards to call out "C" with the hair's I had been coveting.  With a 3 minute turn around, it didn't take all that long to amass my chosen few.  Many of the style's are big, artistic and perfect for those with a sense of the dramatic especially models seeking the unusual. The main store is at petit pas and I really loved the entire sim...you really must have a walk around.  While there I picked up this lovely little dress from a new designer, mikarin Burt, and her new shop daru.  Looking forward to seeing much more from this designer.  I then took some pics at the 'Hero's of Fashion' Gallery on the Scarlett Creative sim.  Well worth the look.

Chalice In Wonderland: A Blog With Heart And Soul - Take A Bow Khit

I had some RL drama to attend to so haven't been active in the past two weeks.  Things have settled and upon returning to peruse the fashion feeds, it struck me that there is one blogger I wish to pay my respects to.

Ms Kitten Kurka produces a gem of a blog called Kiss Kiss With Khitten Kurka and it's one that always makes me smile and feel good.  Apart from the fact that it's obvious a lot of work goes into it and she consistently produces stylish and informative posts, it is her dedication to representing the real woman she is that makes me just love her.

Khitten describes herself as African American and that her avatar is a SL representation of her in RL.  She says:
I am dark skinned.
I am curvaceous.
I am beautiful.

Beautiful she certainly is and it's so refreshing to look at her pictures taken all over SL and see that curvaceous women have a voice when it's so easy to choose the stick insect option.  I did...I can assure you I'm not 6'5 with boobs that lean more north than south and a stomach that is concave.  The fact that she shows us that fashion applies to all shapes and sizes in SL makes her very special in my eyes.

Khit also models and I hope to see more of her beauty in magazines, on catwalk and in store promotions.

Sometimes the loud, persuasive, drama-laden blogs get lots of attention, which is perfectly okay by me, but it is the quiet achievers with a positive message that deserve acknowledgment too.

Everyone send Khit a Kiss back :-)
